“Pft, cardio bunnies. When will women learn to lift?”
> Women have been made to feel like outcasts in the weight room. It takes months or years for women to get up the courage to venture into the weight room because we know we will be stared at 24/7. We will be hit on. We will be judged for every minor mistake and it will be chalked up the the fact that we are women instead of beginners.
“Women are stupid for being scared of getting bigger.”
> Women have been given the notion that to be smaller is to be more successful. Prettier. More desirable. Healthy. They prefer the “diminished self.” They have been put into a box in which their worth is not their own, but to be judged by the standards of society.
“Squatting gives you a bigger ass ;)”
> Women may lift for strength, aesthetics, health, or any reason. But that reason is their own and should not come from outside voices dictating what would be better or worse for them in the eyes of the onlooker.
