ffxv au where king regis maxed out his hand-holding ascension branch, luna didn’t actively let go of his hand, and she escapes tenebrae with noctis to grow up in lucis as a war refugee:

  • just…everyone helping lunafreya through her trauma at watching her kingdom and family fall instead of her having to grow up alone in a hostile environment
  • also like, luna being childhood friends with all the bros
  • this got long so the rest of it’s under the cut

Guzma wakes from a nightmare. Plumeria looks after him for a while.
By Organization for Transformative Works

Guzma jolts awake in a swath of sweat to find Plumeria squeezing his hand.

It’s dark, but he can still discern the familiar shape of her face swimming amongst the stilled shadows. Her hair has been let down, waterfalling over her shoulders in whorls of pink and yellow to frame high cheekbones. She sits beside him over the blankets, her brow crinkled in pointed concern, and for a moment in the last gasps of the steeping haze that was his nightmare, she looks like someone he’d rather not see.

“Hey.” Her voice is soft, mellow, considerate, and nothing at all like Lusamine’s. “You okay?”

Learning to read was hard for Cass.  Interpreting the written word is far different from interpreting body language, and Cass’s brain is wired differently as a result of her abusive childhood.  But after Cass had to ask Steph to read a ransom note aloud in order to continue chasing down criminals (Batgirl vol. 2), she realized that knowing how to read would be useful.

[Batgirl #67]

Because of Cass’s learning disability, it takes her a long time to make significant progress.  Babs coaches her and explores different methods of learning, and eventually Cass is able to read full length novels (albeit slowly).  When Cass did learn how to read, she fell in love with books.  A well-written book is far less predictable than a person, and Cass loved how words seemed to make places and characters come alive in her head.  She would read anything from historical fiction to high fantasy, but quickly became able to tell when a story was poorly written.  The characters would seem less real, and the words wouldn’t flow as easily.  Cass began to spend a lot of free time in the library, and Babs would point out good books that she remembered from her time as a librarian.  Tim also had quite a repertoire of books from his childhood, since he needed something to entertain himself with when his parents were away.  He let Cass have free reign of his collection and gave her recommendations.  The rest of the batfamily also began to gift her books that they enjoyed when they learned about her new passion.

Cass never grew tired of how written words could somehow transform into people as though personalities were interwoven into pages.  She marveled at how she could spend hours completely immersed in a story, oblivious to the world around her (or as oblivious as she can get with her skills).  Books had opened up entire worlds for her.  She secretly hoped that someday she would be able to create worlds of her own.

Shadowhunters S2E10 - Rizzy cuddles Pt. 1, Pt. 2

Since this gem has yet to be done…. My small contribution to what I affectionately call the Raphabelle Raft.

Edit: Fixed because my dumbass doesn’t understand gif size limits.

As many of you know, I’ve created playlists for each character in @thebrightsessions. It’s a big part of my process as a writer and also just fun to do.

Agent Green has never had one. When I was figuring out who this guy was, I realized he was one of those people. You know, those people that don’t really listen to music. So he didn’t get a playlist. But he gets a song.

If Owen Archibald Green were a song, he would be “A Day in the Life” by The Beatles. I don’t know why exactly, he just is. When I thought about making a playlist for him, this song immediately came into my head. This was the only song that came into my head.

If we did normal episode titles instead of silly in-universe ones, Episode 30 would be called “A Day in the Life”. But we don’t and it’s not so here’s this post instead.

ACTUALLY now that i’m really thinking about it i think the thing about the secret history that makes it so brilliant and so terrible is that they aren’t teenagers. they’re young but they’re not young, if you know what i mean. richard is twenty-two; bunny was twenty-four. i’m twenty-four. i know i’m a spring chicken but i know how not to murder people, for christ’s sake.

of course the other thing is that the book makes you love bunny and also hate him; it makes you want him dead, just do it just do it just do it or he’ll ruin everything, and then rips that out from under you, reminds you that you wanted him dead because he wasn’t down with murder. bunny wasn’t a nice or particularly good person and maybe doesn’t deserve sympathy, certainly didn’t leave the world any colder for not being in it, but to be clear when you want him dead it isn’t because he’s a bad person. it’s because he’s got loose lips.

anyway the last brilliant and terrible thing is that this whole novel convinces you to treat the first dead man the way its character does: by the end, you have almost forgotten him. by the end, the only person who ever really cared about what happened to him was bunny corcoran.

Golden Boy calls them gods,

 Laughs as ichor escapes

His veins. The rest will scoff

But will not disagree. Their

City lives in fear of them,

And really, what is a god

But someone who holds

The power of life and

Death in their hands?

Golden Boy forgets what

It means to die, gilds his

Hands in crimson blood and

Calls himself immortal. He

Sweeps through the city and

Nothing can touch him;

Death is but the last truth

His silver tongue will twist.

Golden Boy cups the city

In his palms and wishes

 He was Midas. He settles

For the orange-gold of

Flames. He is not a king

But something divine, and

 He laughs as he watches

His worshippers burn.

He does not mean to be

Cruel, but he is so full

 Of holiness, there is no

 Room left for mercy.

Mari Christmas! (*^∀゚)ъ

When gift boxes start falling from the sky, everyone thinks it’s a Christmas miracle. The scores of solid objects blasting through the roofs of their homes moments later remind them that just maybe, they should be worrying about the laws of gravity as well. Some choose to hide from the barrage in their homes, while others decide to scramble outside to seek shelter elsewhere.

Bad choice. The townspeople scream and dive out of the way as a pink helicopter swoops low to the ground. Eight children are nearly decapitated. They’re being comforted by their parents after this traumatizing experience as the helicopter slows its descent and hovers in place.

The door to the aircraft slams open to reveal Ohara Mari wearing a red Santa suit and obviously fake white beard. She takes in everyone’s terrified faces with interest. Then, Mari winks, forms a circle with her thumb and forefinger, and whispers, “It’s joke!

No one says a word. Perhaps they’re in shock over the whole situation. Mari doesn’t pay them any mind and says, “Ciao~” before closing the door. The helicopter begins to pick up height, and the bystanders shake themselves out of their stupor so that they can quickly back away before they’re blown off their feet by the resulting winds. Mari’s helicopter veers sharply right and takes off, nearly colliding with a power line. The crowd watches the helicopter slowly fade from sight in stunned silence.

Thousands of homes are destroyed. The entire town is laid to waste, and children weep at the loss of their image of Santa Claus.

But it’s okay, because Dia is money. Mari will drop off the bill for the damages at the Kurosawa estate in the morning.

She chuckles to herself as her helicopter flies off into the night. With this, Dia will definitely regret telling the Ohara heiress that Santa wasn’t real when they were first years.

Stuck :: Open!

He’d been walking for hours - desperately trying to lose himself in his own thoughts as he wandered through Montreal, getting utterly lost more than once. Bee’s leg was aching in its prosthetic, and his limp was so much more pronounced with every step. The sun had risen now, so it had to have been about 7AM - He’d left home at 3. Ridiculous.
Bee had to take a moment to rest, leaning up against a brick wall, hand firmly gripping it as he stood on his stronger leg. He was trying to either find his way home, or to a bus stop, or just something - the moron having forgotten to take his phone with him to call a cab.

Despite the concern that he might be bothering someone, he piped up to the first person he saw on the street, a little awkwardly.
“Hi, excuse me, sorry, I don’t mean to bother you, but I’m struggling to find my way home, and uhm, I can’t find a bus stop? Can you help me?”
