I've been thinking about this for a while, so how about a story where Tom makes a weird trifle for Marco and co. for a sleepover/party, and everyone is trying to hide that it's not good (except that Star actually likes it since we're talking about someone who eats her burritos with sugar), but the next day, Marco offers to help him cook something amazing. (Yes, I did take this idea from an episode of Friends, glad you asked! XD)
Awww! This was such a cute idea! I had so much fun with it! Prepare for fluff!!!!
“How do you guys like it?” Tom asked excitedly. He was bouncing up and down, mostly watching for Marco’s reaction. This was the first time he’s ever tried this hard to make something, and he really wanted to see Marco’s reaction. Janna picked up one of the treats and examined it.
“What is it?” She asked.
“They’re cookies! What do they look like?” Tom asked. Janna and Star traded glances. Star shrugged and ate a whole cookie, she liked it and gave Tom a thumbs up. Janna made a face and gave Star her cookie, not wanting to eat it herself. Marco resisted the urge to make a face and examined the treat.
Tom looked over at Marco and perked up with curiosity. “How do you like them Marco!?” He asked. Marco studied the cookie and forced himself to take a bite. Marco immediately had the reflex to spit the gross food out but forced it back.
“What did you think?” Tom asked. Marco looked up at Tom, to tell him the truth, but the demon looked so happy! He was so proud of himself! Marco didn’t have the heart to tell him they were repulsive. Marco forced himself to swallow the cookie and choked back a gag. Marco smiled and placed the rest on the plate.
“They’re so good Tom!” He smiled big. “But uh… they’re really heavy. That’s what it is, so I don’t think I can eat anymore.” Marco explained, forcing a smile. Tom smiled back, he seemed so pleased about receiving Marco’s approval.
“Oh! Maybe I added too much cornstarch.” Tom guessed. Janna looked over at Star confused.
“Why was he putting cornstarch in cookies?” She asked. Star shrugged and ate the rest of Marco’s cookie.
“It doesn’t matter, whatever he’s doing he’s doing it right.” Star assured. Janna made a face at Star and looked away. Tom was smiling at Marco and he seemed pleased.
“I’m so happy you liked them! I worked on them for hours.” Tom admitted. “I didn’t want to tell you that until I knew you liked them.” Tom explained. Marco smiled a little guilty and patted the demon’s head.
“How about we go to the kitchen and we make something together?” Marco suggested. “I can show you how to make them less… heavy.” Marco tried. Tom perked up excitedly and nodded.
“Yeah! That’ll be fun!” Tom agreed. Marco smiled and took Tom’s hand. The couple went down to the kitchen and Marco pulled out a recipe. “What’s that?” Tom asked.
“It’s a recipe so we know what ingredients to use.” Marco told him. “What recipe did you use?” he asked. Tom shrugged.
“I just kept adding stuff until I could mold them into cookie shapes.” Tom explained.
“How long did you bake them for?” Marco asked. Tom raised an eyebrow.
“Bake?” He repeated, confused. Maroc sighed and took out a mixing bowl.
“Okay well they’ll be a lot better if you follow the recipe.” Marco explained. Tom nodded and Marco gave him a list of ingredients to gether from the refrigerator and Tom put them on the table. Marco smiled and showed him how much to add of each. “Okay, now we bake them.” Marco explained.
“But they aren’t shaped like cookies, they’re just balls of dough.” Tom pointed out. Marco laughed a little and kissed Tom on the nose.
“I know, but when they bake they will.” Marco promised. Tom sat in front of the oven and watched inside curiously to see how this magical process worked. Marco smiled and sat down next to him. Tom leaned his head against Marco’s.
“It’s warm right here.” He said. Marco laughed a little and kissed Tom’s head.
“Yeah, the oven heats up.” Marco giggled. Tom nodded.
“Thanks for teaching me how to bak Mar-Mar.” Tom told him. “I know my cookies weren’t that good.” Tom admitted. Marco couldn’t stifle his small laugh.
“Practice makes perfect Tommy. Keep trying. Maybe follow a recipe next time? We can try and make a really good one together!” Marco suggested. Tom smiled and bounced a little excitedly.
“Okay! We can do it together!” Tom smiled big and moved closer to Marco. It was warm by the oven, and the cookies smelled really good. Marco kept turning to Tom and giving him a little kiss every few minutes, and Tom was holding Marco’s hand in both of his.
This was nice.
