first reveal

Well, that was a doozy! Some ramblings ahead.

So far, the only thing I have made up my mind about…is that I haven’t made up my mind about this latest twist. And I probably won’t for a while.

There have been a lot of twists in this show’s short history that I have not been ecstatic about when they first happened/revealed. Honestly, the first one?

“You did this to yourself.”

My initial reaction to that was a big, fat 👎. I can’t totally explain why as I haven’t quite figured it out myself but I just didn’t like that explanation for what had happened to Jane.

I’ve gotten over that (clearly! 😂) and now live and breathe with this show’s every insane twist and turn.

So, I’m going to keep an open mind about this latest development and make up my mind as we go along. I’m going to choose to trust MG and his team and be excited about where this is going to go and where they’ll take Jeller.

And, to be honest, this week’s episode is a big reason why.

Look at where Jeller are. How in love, how committed they are, how open and honest Jane is with her husband. How even though Kurt is keeping a (huge) secret from Jane, I have no doubt he is doing it to protect her.

They are going to get through this together. They’ll have their tough times, it won’t always be easy. But I have faith they will come out of this on the other side stronger than ever.

In the meantime, I’m going to go rewatch this episode for the millionth time because it has some of the most beautiful and perfect Jeller we’ve ever gotten. Straight out of (many) fanfics. They are everything. ❤️

13 Reasons to Have an Out-of-This-World Friday (the 13th)

1. Not all of humanity is bound to the ground

Since 2000, the International Space Station has been continuously occupied by humans. There, crew members live and work while conducting important research that benefits life on Earth and will even help us eventually travel to deep space destinations, like Mars.

2. We’re working to develop quieter supersonic aircraft that would allow you to travel from New York to Los Angeles in 2 hours

We are working hard to make flight greener, safer and quieter – all while developing aircraft that travel faster, and building an aviation system that operates more efficiently. Seventy years after Chuck Yeager broke the sound barrier in the Bell X-1 aircraft, we’re continuing that supersonic X-plane legacy by working to create a quieter supersonic jet with an aim toward passenger flight.

3. The spacecraft, rockets and systems developed to send astronauts to low-Earth orbit as part of our Commercial Crew Program is also helping us get to Mars

Changes to the human body during long-duration spaceflight are significant challenges to solve ahead of a mission to Mars and back. The space station allows us to perform long duration missions without leaving Earth’s orbit.

Although they are orbiting Earth, space station astronauts spend months at a time in near-zero gravity, which allows scientists to study several physiological changes and test potential solutions. The more time they spend in space, the more helpful the station crew members can be to those on Earth assembling the plans to go to Mars.

4. We’re launching a spacecraft in 2018 that will go “touch the Sun”

In the summer of 2018, we’re launching Parker Solar Probe, a spacecraft that will get closer to the Sun than any other in human history. Parker Solar Probe will fly directly through the Sun’s atmosphere, called the corona. Getting better measurements of this region is key to understanding our Sun.

For instance, the Sun releases a constant outflow of solar material, called the solar wind. We think the corona is where this solar wind is accelerated out into the solar system, and Parker Solar Probe’s measurements should help us pinpoint how that happens.

5. You can digitally fly along with spacecraft…that are actually in space…in real-time!

NASA’s Eyes are immersive, 3D simulations of real events, spacecraft locations and trajectories. Through this interactive app, you can experience Earth and our solar system, the universe and the spacecraft exploring them. Want to watch as our Juno spacecraft makes its next orbit around Juno? You can! Or relive all of the Voyager mission highlights in real-time? You can do that too! Download the free app HERE to start exploring.

6. When you feel far away from home, you can think of the New Horizons spacecraft as it heads toward the Kuiper Belt, and the Voyager spacecraft are beyond the influence of our sun…billions of miles away

Our New Horizons spacecraft completed its Pluto flyby in July 2015 and has continued on its way toward the Kuiper Belt. The spacecraft continues to send back important data as it travels toward deeper space at more than 32,000 miles per hour, and is ~3.2 billion miles from Earth.

In addition to New Horizons, our twin Voyager 1 and 2 spacecraft are exploring where nothing from Earth has flown before. Continuing on their more-than-37-year journey since their 1977 launches, they are each much farther away from Earth and the sun than Pluto. In August 2012, Voyager 1 made the historic entry into interstellar space, the region between the stars, filled with material ejected by the death of nearby stars millions of years ago.

7. There are humans brave enough to not only travel in space, but venture outside space station to perform important repairs and updates during spacewalks

Just this month (October 2017) we’ve already had two spacewalks on the International Space Station…with another scheduled on Oct. 20.

Spacewalks are important events where crew members repair, maintain and upgrade parts of the International Space Station. These activities can also be referred to as EVAs – Extravehicular Activities. Not only do spacewalks require an enormous amount of work to prepare for, but they are physically demanding on the astronauts. They are working in the vacuum of space in only their spacewalking suit.

8. Smart people are up all night working in control rooms all over NASA to ensure that data keeps flowing from our satellites and spacecraft

Our satellites and spacecraft help scientists study Earth and space. Missions looking toward Earth provide information about clouds, oceans, land and ice. They also measure gases in the atmosphere, such as ozone and carbon dioxide and the amount of energy that Earth absorbs and emits. And satellites monitor wildfires, volcanoes and their smoke.

9. A lot of NASA-developed tech has been transferred for use to the public

Our Technology Transfer Program highlights technologies that were originally designed for our mission needs, but have since been introduced to the public market. HERE are a few spinoff technologies that you might not know about.

10. We have a spacecraft currently traveling  to an asteroid to collect a sample and bring it back to Earth

OSIRIS-REx is our first-ever mission that will travel to an asteroid and bring a sample of it back to Earth. Currently, the spacecraft is on its way to asteroid Bennu where it will survey and map the object before it “high-fives” the asteroid with its robotic arm to collect a sample, which it will send to Earth.

If everything goes according to plan, on Sept. 24, 2023, the capsule containing the asteroid sample will make a soft landing in the Utah desert.

11. There are Earth-sized planets outside our solar system that may be habitable

To date, we have confirmed 3,000+ exoplanets, which are planets outside our solar system that orbit a Sun-like star. Of these 3,000, some are in the habitable zone – where the temperature is just right for liquid water to exist on the surface.

Recently, our Spitzer Space Telescope revealed the first known system of SEVEN Earth-size planets around a single star. Three of these plants are firmly in the habitable zone, and could have liquid water on the surface, which is key to life as we know it.

12. Earth looks like art from space

In 1960, the United States put its first Earth-observing environmental satellite into orbit around the planet. Over the decades, these satellites have provided invaluable information, and the vantage point of space has provided new perspectives on Earth.

The beauty of Earth is clear, and the artistry ranges from the surreal to the sublime.

13. We’re building a telescope that will be able to see the first stars ever formed in the universe

Wouldn’t it be neat to see a period of the universe’s history that we’ve never seen before? That’s exactly what the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) will be able to do…plus more!

Specifically, Webb will see the first objects that formed as the universe cooled down after the Big Bang. We don’t know exactly when the universe made the first stars and galaxies – or how for that matter. That is what we are building Webb to help answer.

Happy Friday the 13th! We hope it’s out-of-this-world!

As soon as Merlin’s magic is revealed, Arthur’s response is Don’t be ridiculous, Merlin.” “This is stupid, why would you say that?”, he refuses to believe what Merlin says it’s true. He knows Merlin. He would have told him. Arthur would have noticed“I would know!” he says, and starts crying.
After seeing Merlin’s magic his expression changes from heartbroken to afraid. Reality hits him, who is this person?
Merlin’s confession turns Arthur’s world upside down. “I can’t let you die” means little to Arthur though. Merlin could just be loyal to the crown, to Camelot’s heir.
The first positive response happens after Merlin admits “There will never be another like you, Arthur”. Arthur’s eyes are full of warmth and he even smiles a little. There will never be another like him for Merlin.
One of my favorite scenes in 5x13 is the next one, when Arthur asks “Why did you never tell me?”, and Merlin replies with “You’d have chopped my head off.”, Arthur barely moves, he doesn’t even look at Merlin.
“I’m not sure what I would’ve done.“
“I didn’t want to put you in that position.” That sentence is what makes Arthur recognize his Merlin for the first time in that episode (not just a good man, but someone who cares about him, someone who loves him). “That’s what worried you”, he says, while staring at Merlin’s lips.
Any doubt of Merlin saving his life out of duty goes out of the window when Merlin says “It’s not why I do it” and looks directly into Arthur’s eyes.
Like I said before, Merlin doesn’t spend 5x13 showing Arthur magic is good, because sometimes it’s not and Arthur has seen that (maybe that’s why he’s afraid at first of Merlin’s true motives), he assures Arthur he’s still the same person, that he doesn’t have any hidden agenda, he just cares for Arthur’s well being.
Last, but not least: “I don’t want you to change. I want you… to always… be you.”, he knows this Merlin, he doesn’t make a joke about Merlin’s many imperfections (because he loves all those little things about him, his clumsiness, the fact that he can’t shut up, how he’s always late…), he says he wants Merlin to always be him, to never change. Because magical or not, Arthur Pendragon loves every single thing about Merlin, his manservant, and it’s been that way for years.

timmy’s secret wish is the worst episode of fairly oddparents i have ever seen :’D - forget about chloe or sparky or season 10 - this is the one where it turns out that timmy is actually 60 years old and cheated his way into never having to let go of his fairies - which results in cosmo and wanda losing Poof.

Naturally, all of this ends with Timmy getting his fairies, Poof and his youth back, without any permanent consequences or punishment whatsoever.

i cannot believe this ;____;

Okay, but I can’t stop thinking about Eddie and Richie in university.

So it’s a few years later after Pennywise and the Loser Club have carried on with their lives, real life doesn’t stop for anyone ya know, paranormal clown killers or not. And for real-life reasons, everyone goes to different universities in and out of the state.

For this reason, of course, Eddie makes new friends, who are a little surprised at first when he reveals he’s taken as he’s flirted with at a party one night. It becomes a game among these friends to imagine what this guy significant other would be like. Obviously, she would be some girl with straight A’s and neatly parted hair who wears summer dresses and probably wears glasses - the stereotypical image of a good Christian girl.

One afternoon Eddie had mentioned his ‘significant other’ was coming to visit and they all took this as the opportunity to finally see this put-together, pure, Puritan girl.

So you can imagine their shock when a boy, with straggly black hair to his jaw, covered in freckles and moles, wearing a faded (only slightly stained) Nirvana shirt and ripped jeans clambers out of an old pickup truck with a shout of, “EDS MOTHERFUCKING KASPBRAK, HAVE I MISSED YOU!”

Maybe this boy was just his friend? Maybe he was just dropping her off as well? Would Eddie Kaspbrak, the boy who starts his essay’s the night he gets them, goes to every morning lecture and who is never seen without brushed hair, trouser pleats and a pressed shirt be with the guy with the massive smudged glasses and broken converse?

But then Eddie doesn’t answer him, just kisses him so hard the boy is slammed back into the door of the truck, and his friends give up.

Alternatively, at his university, Richie’s friends think similarly to Eddie’s. I mean. Richie Tozier, the boy who burnt down the dorm kitchen trying to make goddam pasta, got thrown out of Target for climbing on the checkout counter to dance to the Macarena, and has never been seen wearing a clean shirt in his life - would he be really interested in some preppy clean-cut girl?

Nah, his friends guessed she would be a punk girl with dyed red, no GREEN, hair and wore fishnets and had loads of piercings and got expelled from loads of schools. Yeah, that’s who Richie Tozier would like.

Oh, how naive and wrong they were.

Because one day Richie took a shower longer than 5 minutes, ran a brush through his hair, and was even spotted walking into a laundromat. So either he’d finally snapped, or his significant other was visiting.

They came with him to the park where they expected to find the cyber-punk girl sat under a tree to escape the sun that would tan her perfect porcelain skin or that could melt the random plastic shit she had attached to her crazy clothes and in her hair.

But then they see Richie walking towards a park bench next to a lake and they are gobsmacked. Sat there was the most conforming, suburban-looking boy they’d ever seen, wearing a dress shirt tucked into pleated trousers with a belt that matched his smart shoes which were the same shade of brown as his round eyes and impeccable hair, throwing handfuls of bread into the pond like a young elderly man.

They watch how as soon as he approaches the boy stands up with a glare before starting to fix his collar from the nice polo shirt under his freshly clean Star Wars shirt and running his fingers gently through his hair he had attempted to tame, clicking his tongue beratingly and saying something they couldn’t hear.

Maybe he was another friend trying to make him look good for the girlfriend on her way?

Then Richie grabs the hand in his hair further into the thick mess and tugs him closer to kiss him deeply, wrapping his lanky arms around the doll-like shorter boy. It’s when the boy stretches onto his toes and flings his arm around Richie’s neck to hold him tighter against him that his friend’s stop trying to pretend they can predict who Richie Tozier is.

there’s a difference between hunk and lance and the way they miss their families from what we’ve seen. lance feels sadness, like one that catches him off guard when it hits him, because he’s busy distracting himself with what he has to do or their adventures. doesn’t really let himself think about his homesickness or insecurities unless something reminds him of it.

with hunk, i think it’s the opposite. when he said he missed his family, he says it so matter of factly without a second thought and it makes me think that he’s thought about his family and everything he’s left behind since they first left. but hunk has thought it through, has kinda accepted that theyre there for however long they need to be until the fight against the galra. it bothers him, yeah, but not to the extent that lance does and its all about how he copes.

hunk was the first one to say that team voltron was like his brothers. the first one to consider team voltron his new found family. he’s able to deal with being in space because voltron is his family now. team voltron is the reason he’s able to deal with being in space with a smile on his face because he loves them. he can go anywhere with this group of people, and he happened to stumble in with this little group, but he’s probably never felt stronger than he has than being with them.
