“I was making you a wish.” for DWC?
Thank you so much, this was so much fun!! <3
Solas had just lost Wisdom when last they were here, and he had first pressed himself wholly into her. His Vhenan. He shook off the memories, painful and tasting like copper on his tongue. She collapsed, disappearing into the tall grass.
“Vhenan…?” He moved quickly and quietly over to where she lie, grinning curiously up at him.
“You’re a looong way up, Cricket-legs,” She gripped the hem of his pants, arm outstretched. She was so small next to him, as he so often forgot.
He moved to lie next to her, but was briefly caught by a small, quiet gasp. Her body tensed and she shut her eyes as he glanced about, reaching to finger the stave in its holster across his back.
“Shh,” She smiled, eyelids fluttering; he relaxed, “One moment.”
He settled there beside her, glancing at the brittle brambles caught in her opalescent curls. A brief illumination in the sky caught his attention, and he looked up. Stars were falling across the dark sky. Fleeting flashes of white light, burning brilliantly before disappearing above them.
“I was making you a wish,” She smiled softly, and his attention returned. She swallowed hard, wide lilac eyes gentle as down feathers.
“Was it a happy ending?” Solas tried to smile, but it was much more rapacious than he had meant it. She grinned back wolfishly.
“For me,” She giggled, grasping at his collar and rolling herself onto his chest, “Yes, it is.”
