I found this talented young Boston native on Vine and couldn’t get enough! In just 6 seconds he KILLS it, covering some of the latest and greatest pop songs of the year. Not to mention, he’ll occasionally burst out some piano and guitar playing vines!

Check out my Q&A with Jeffrey below to learn more about this amazing young artist.

Naya Asks Jeffrey

Naya: When did you first start singing?

Jeffrey: I first started singing when I was little. I would jam out with my First Act guitar and sing to my favorite “The Wiggles” song, but it wasn’t until last year that I started singing for all my friends and then on the internet. In 6th grade I posted my first YouTube cover after the good response I was getting from friends and family about my voice! The more and more I sang for people the more I began to realize it is what I want to do for the rest of my life.

Naya: Who are your favorite musical inspirations?

Jeffrey: Some of my favorite musical inspirations are Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce and Jason Derulo. I absolutely adore Tori Kelly and her music right now, Iggy Azalea, definitely Sam Smith, Ne-Yo, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, One Republic, Gavin Degraw, and so many more artists!!!

Naya: Tell me about your latest single “Double Tap”!

Jeffrey: My latest and first single “Double Tap” was written by Balewa Muhammad and Perry Mapp! I was approached by Balewa and have been working with him since May. “Double Tap” is such a cool and creative song I absolutely fell in love with the minute I heard it! The song is about breaking up with a girl, wanting her back and looking at her social media to see her with someone else. You can only “Double Tap”! I think it’s a really relatable song for this generation because social media IS such a big part of people’s lives and such a popular thing, it make sense. It’s really catchy and I enjoyed recording it!

Naya: What was your first reaction when you went viral?

Jeffrey: When I went viral I was overjoyed and filled with a ton of emotions. I felt so blessed and thankful for the response I was getting on my vines and music. It has opened so many doors for me! It’s really amazing how the internet can get you one step closer to your dream!

Naya: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Jeffrey: In 5 years I see myself recording music and performing for as many people as possible; following my dream. I’m going to continue writing my own music and keep improving. I really believe that I can make my dream a reality and I understand that it won’t be easy and there will be bumps in the road but this is really what I want to do for the rest of my life. I have a love for music and I want to keep making and sharing my music for as many people as I can! The dream is Vine to mainstream, I don’t want to just be the Vine kid. I want to take this as far as it can go.

Naya: Thanks so much Jeffrey. Can’t wait to see what you do next!
