When I ask new knitters what they most want to be able to make, the most common answer is ‘I want to be able to knit socks someday’. This is usually quickly followed by a 'They look really hard though, so I’m sure it’ll be years before I will.’ I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t take years to acquire the skills to knit socks. In fact, with minimal prerequisites it only takes a few hours of instruction to cover all the fundamentals.
Beginning on July 24th, I will be teaching a basic sock workshop at Firefly Fibers where we will cover all the basics you need to launch your adventures in sock knitting. We’ll meet three Tuesdays in a row in order to get you fully acquainted and comfortable with sock construction and techniques. Complete the homework & attend class and you will walk away with your very first handmade sock. It’s that easy!
I’m a firm believer that life is too short to not be knitting projects you love. If you really want to knit socks, let’s get you knitting socks!
