I cropped some of my TAZ fanart to fit into phone wallpaper sizes since I get a lot of messages of people trying to edit them to the proper resolution. Here are some Lup-centric ones (I plan on doing more but these are just the first). In case tumblr destroys the quality on these, here’s an imgur album with the proper 1080x1920 resolutions: http://imgur.com/a/nDYzj
You can edit these into your theme or icons, I don’t mind.
This goes for playlist covers, album art, AMV usage as well. Just don’t remove credit and give me a shout out when you do so! I’d rather people not just completely reupload these to other sites though.
So people keep asking me like “How do you take selfies?” “When do I unlock the ability to take selfies?” “Where is the /selfie command?” “Will you please stop taking selfies in the middle of Omega Savage?”, and so I finally figured it was time to share my secret with the world!
Step 1: Go find somewhere to take a selfie/someone to take it with! Admittedly this step is largely optional because let’s face it, the focus of the image is you!
Step 2: Figure out which emotes work as selfie prompts for your race/gender!
Wait, wait, wait, come back! I can tell I’m losing you all there, because Step 2 of a how-to guide is immediately “FIGURE IT OUT” right? But the truth is that all of the races/genders have different versions of emotes. What works for some characters doesn’t work for others. The important thing to remember is that the emote only needs to have an arm positioned correctly for a fraction of a second.
The long and short of it is, try combinations of /welcome, /comfort, /wave, /point, /pet or /songbird (if you have it). Anything that has even a few frames of your arm out stretched
An unfortunate problem with taller races, Roe girls especially, is that a lot of their emotes angle downward, so its just going to take some trial and error to get there.
Step 3: Add a facial emote. Its important to do this AFTER you make the motion you want. Optional Step 3.5: Set up a macro (add “motion” after your emotes so as to avoid spamming chat with emote text):
Step 4: Position yourself appropriately and hit that macro. Try to keep in mind where your character is going to have their arm when it comes to positioning things in the shot with you. If your “camera” is going to be in your right hand, position the shot behind and to the left, or vice versa for your left hand.
Step 5: /gpose
Step 6: In gpose you’re going to want to roughly position your camera in the direction you want to face, force your character to face the camera hitting Pause/Break on your keyboard, or Y/Triangle on your controller.
For an added bonus; any other player characters, nearby minions or NPCs who head track to look at your character will also turn to face the camera in gpose.
Once you’re satisfied with the angle, its a game of pausing your animation at just the right frame to make it look like your arm is going to be off holding a camera. If you don’t know how to pause it, you can hit the buttons at the top of the GPose Settings screen (Accessed with R/* or Square/X) or by pressing the ½ keys or LT/RT/L2/R2 for just you or your party/npcs.
Step 7: ZOOM THAT CAMERA WAY IN (Fine tuning the position as necessary).
For best results, fully zoom in the default camera, and then zoom even further using the Gpose camera position option as below:
Step 8: Give your shot a bit of a dutch angle by spinning the camera on its axis a little to make it feel like a more naturally held shot:
Step 9:(Optional) Add some subtle/softer lighting if you feel like you need it. I tend to stick to low lighting on Type 1 (as this only effects characters and not the environment around you):
Step 10: Take the picture.
And that’s about it! Just play around with it, female midlanders have a really easy time of it, but different emotes and angles can achieve great results with just about every race if you have the patience to experiment!
Make a reference sheet with separate lists for each subject. This reference sheet is used to orient your daily studying.
List the material you need to study for each subject. Be more specific than you would be on a study schedule and make sure you put down everything you need to go over.
On your schedule, highlight the exam dates and deadlines and put down any relevant information. (Get the template here)
Using your reference sheet, assign certain material to go through each day.
If you haven’t been working on study material throughout the semester; schedule days before your study leave to work on study sheets for revision, flash cards, summaries, whatever you use to study.
Take a day to gather your study material before your study leave begins. Like the weekend classes end or so. This will save you a lot of time when you sit down to study every day.
Schedule your studying so that you start studying for the last final first, and the first final last. Make sure you start this early enough to give yourself time to revise for the subjects you need to.
If you have a day between each of your finals, take the night of the final off and revise for the next exam the day after. If not, take the couple of hours after your exam off then revise for the next one.
Schedule the harder/heavier material in a subject first, so that you work on that material when you have more energy.
If you’re taking subjects that you have difficulty with, or subjects with a heavy workload; schedule catch up days. However, don’t let that encourage you to slack off. Try to stick to your schedule and only rely on the catch up days if you really need to, and if you don’t; then it’s a day off!
Also, schedule days off… a day or if you can’t afford it, half a day. I can’t stress how important it is to take time for yourself, it’ll help you avoid burnout.
Disclaimer: this is the way I’ve been making study schedules since I started college. By no means am I claiming it’s perfect or that everybody should follow it.
I’m sorry I’m posting this by the end of the year when a lot of people are already done with exams, but perhaps it’ll be helpful for people taking summer courses now? And also for next year :)
BOOF! finally got that FtM makeup tutorial out! works for cosplay, or everyday. short, sweet, and more of what to do, and less of why. Mostly just makeup procedure, and some handy tricks to increase the manly.
and for supplementary material, this is the guide that i base 70% of my method on:
(alterations for my method: sharp line cheek contour, no highlight in the inner eye, extended cheek highlights, highlight along the jaw top, as well as shadow on the bottom, darker areas under the eye and in the corner of the eyes.)
Your art. I just found it. It wounds my soul. In a good way. My heart literally jumped to my throat when I saw it. And as a fellow artist I have a question about how tf your noses always look so damn good, like it's just like a lil whip of oh here the illusion of this cartoon character having a nose is complete how how do you do that?? ❤❤❤❤❤❤
hi anon! and thank you that’s so incredibly sweet ack is this the second message i’ve gotten about noses 😂? a personal inspiration for me on this topic is MACK’s art! their beautiful work gives a great sense that, when done right, the nose is a really effective way to give dimension to a face!
although i still struggle with illustrating more diverse nose shapes, here’s some tips i hope could help??(OTL i have no idea what im doing 124% of the time)
presented in ¾ angles b/c im weak & it’s the easiest way to show dimension
studying (not tracing!) from reality is the best way to improve anatomy, and honestly if you put in the effort to not make your noses an imperceptible slit with a spot of shading you’re lookin damn fine already!
