A lot of people already pointed out how there are differences between the different localizations of Final Fantasy XIV in what exactly is said and how that sheds a new light on characters. A friend of mine asked me to take a look at the German version in regards to Zenos, so here we go for all who are curious.
Below the cut is a direct comparison between the English dialogue with Zenos and the German version, with a literal translation of it.

When a call over the linkpearl sounded, Ruran responded as quickly as he could. Upon his arrival to the Jackal house, he discovered that their new benefactor ‘M’ had released a volatile, rancid flan the basement. ‘M’ wished to test a device that could capture the creature, and it was up to the Jackals-turned-voidhunters to see if it worked. Another trial by fire.
After a flurry of toxins and acid, and the retching of several of stomachs in the process, they managed to start up the device. Thankfully, it worked, and the group was able to rest, recover, and collect a sample of the flan for research.
After The Sultana’s Cup erupted in flames, Lunae sought to rebuild something greater in it’s ashes. With determination and fire in her eye, she made her expedition for expansion. Now stands The Phoenix Parlor. Fully staffed and ready to please all.
