figures of progress

fashion zine? tell me more B)

basically it’s rwby characters in coolio fashionable outfits and i just decorate the pages and parts of their clothes in washitapes idk how imma do the zine part but i’ll figure it out it’s a big work in progress but yeah!

I figured I’d post a quick progress pick. When I first started this journey I didn’t take a before pick, because (if I’m being honest) I didn’t think it would stick. But the picture on the left was one of my breaking points.
It was about 2 years ago and when I was at my heaviest. We were celebrating one of my best friends birthdays and I thought I looked pretty good, then she posted this picture. I broke down crying.

I didn’t realize I had gotten that large, yet I continued to eat whatever I felt like whenever I felt like. That was until my mom was diagnosed with cancer early last year. Thankfully the doctors discovered it in stage one and she fought through it and we discovered this January that she was officially cancer free! YAY
I digress. It made me realize that I needed to take better care of myself, because I know I have a higher chance of being diagnosed with cancer than others. So I started a 28 day challenge that became a two month challenge that become my weight loss journey.
The picture in the right is me when my friends and I went hiking in Providence Canyon in Georgia, something that the girl on the left would have never been able to do.
I’m so proud of how far I’ve come, and even though I still have a long way to go, it’s amazing to have motivation and encouragement from not only my loved ones but y'all, fitnation!
Here’s to an even fitter 2017!

If you don’t think you’ll ever improve your art, the first picture is a drawing I did three years ago and the second is a digital painting I finished an hour ago. Art takes time, remember that.

Aaa! First project from my “Easter cosplay marathon” is almost finished.
I’m so hapy and sad at the same time because this was that ‘easier’ one and took me longer than I expected.
So here you are: My first try as Hiroko Katsuki vel Mama Katsuki.
(Wig and glasses are pretty random because that good ones are in my other house)

Happy easter from Mama!
Bernie Sanders, Top Progressives Announce New Medicare-For-All Push
Lowering the Medicare age could be a starting point.

In the wake of the Republican failure to repeal the Affordable Care Act on Friday, leading figures in the progressive wing of the Democratic Party are rallying behind a single-payer health insurance and a raft of other bold reforms.

These lawmakers and grassroots leaders have long believed that the problems plaguing the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, are rooted in the original health care law’s attempt to accommodate, rather than gradually replace, the private, for-profit health insurance system.

Now that efforts to eliminate the law wholesale are effectively dead, they are again arguing that the best way to improve the country’s health care system is to confront the power of corporate health care provider more directly.

“We have got to have the guts to take on the insurance companies and the drug companies and move forward toward a Medicare-for-all, single-payer program,” Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said on MSNBC’s “All In with Chris Hayes” on Friday night. “And I’ll be introducing legislation shortly to do that.”

Even before the Republicans withdrew their Obamacare repeal bill, Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.), the deputy chair of the Democratic National Committee and a close Sanders ally, previewed this message at a rally in defense of Obamacare on Thursday.

“Don’t just be satisfied with defeating Trumpcare ― set your sights on creating real Medicare for all!” he told a cheering crowd of hundreds of activists.

Representatives of several major progressive organizations ― the Working Families Party, the Progressive Campaign Change Committee, Credo, Social Security Works and the National Nurses United ― all echoed this push in conversations with The Huffington Post on Friday and Saturday.

“The problem is the insurance companies, Big Pharma ― they’re gonna come back and use the chaos to their advantage,” predicted Social Security Works executive director Alex Lawson. “If Democrats go with a half-a-loaf policy, Republicans are going to blame them for the failures of Big Pharma. They have to immediately pivot to expanding Medicare.”

Final part of ‘My son, Bringer of Storms.’

You were staring at the wall, trying to keep calm and relaxed. Jensen was out in the hall with River, but in here, you were alone. Again. And even though you’ve done this before, you were scared.  You tried your best not to cry, you wouldn’t give him that satisfaction.

“It’s only a matter of time now.” The nurse smiled at you. “Would you like me to call for the anesthesiologist now?” You nodded. You knew you couldn’t wait much longer. “Alright, I’ll be back.” She left the room.

You eyes didn’t leave the wall. Your heart breaking.  “Y/n?” You hadn’t heard the door open, or anyone come in. With nurses in and out, you didn’t care. “Sweetheart?” That grabbed your attention.

Every time Dipper reaches into his tiny vest to pull out a book that’s as large as his torso I have to wonder what else he manages to keep in those magical pockets of his

I am trying to back up my phone because today I ran out of storage. This has literally never happened before. And its so full that its taking forever to get it to load. Annoying.

Todays been great but also really stressful. I slept okay. I woke up at 730 and reset my alarm for 830. I felt pretty good when I got up though. I didn’t have breakfast which was a bad idea. But its fine. Whatever.

I biked up to school to meet with Don at 10. We spent the next almost 2 hours building my plexiglass boxes. They need to fit inside some cardboard boxes so it was some good work getting them to fit. A lot of cutting and measuring. Don is a saint and really helped me figure out all the math. Gluing the plexi together made Don laugh at me because I’m a mess. But it went good and they got all together.

We had a commencement meeting at noon. And it was stupid. But I had time before that to get lunch and that made me feel better. The meeting was just basically the same information as got last time. But its fine. I went to eat the rest of my lunch and then over to our classroom.

The new killing stalking came out today so I downloaded the backcatalog. The show and tell section we had today was great??? Really top notch videos and art. Good job foundations students. I really enjoyed seeing the new Gorillaz music video. Don gave his presentation for the next project and I read my comic book. It was a good afternoon.

One of the students had given blood at the blood drive today and was a little goofy. We were walking with her back to the 3D shop and she got dizzy and sat on the stairs. She thought she was going to be sick so I started walking her to the restroom when all of a sudden she stumbled and then completely passed out. Thankfully I was able to grab her before she smashed into the trashcans. I got her on the ground and I was absolutely terrified. Don was going to call public safety but it was faster for me to run over so I did that. By the time I got back she was awake again and Don was looking after her. we all sat on the floor together until the security guy came. It was really scary. But we went and sat in the library and had a snack and she was alright. She was thankful I did let her smash her head. We called it an impromptu trust fall.

We went back up to the crit space to do the bronze critiques. And that was a lot of fun. At first Don wasn’t up there so I went to find him but he was already up in the space by the time I got back from looking in the shop. I was in charge of timing the crits. I had them down to around 5-7 minutes. I would tell the group final comments and that made Don laugh because I was pretty strict about it. But I had to leave at 5 and I wanted to stay for all the crits. They were really good pieces though. A gold fish in a tank! A spinning ballerina! An old man! Some other really great pieces. They really pulled it together and knocked it out of the park. They were also just really great with feedback and had jokes and puns and it was just a lot of fun. I’m very proud of them.

But I really had to run out of there. My phone was dying and I forgot my charger at home and so I thought I would run to my studio and drop off my purse and stuff and go grab the bus. I thought I had a charger in my studio but I couldn’t find it. So I sort of panicked and biked home but left my purse in my studio. And I’m just like. Ugh. So that stuff is still there. But its fine. I had time to feed sweetP and get my charger and external battery. And wasn’t late to the bus.

I got to the rink and had some bread. Put my skates on. Chatted with some of the other skaters. It was a lot of fun. I loved watching the more skilled skaters and all the tiny little kids. My group was great! We did an alright job in our practice time. We still have some issues with the ending but it was still fun. Itll only be better tomorrow I’m sure.

We got off the ice and I had dinner. Spent some time with the other adult in my group. We talked about Yuri on Ice and that was fun. I talked to some parents of the little girls in our groups. It was nice. We got together in a big line and went and practiced the finale and it was just a lot of fun. Kea, the other adult, was kind enough to offer me a ride home. And so I didn’t have to wait for the bus.

I’m still trying to get my phone to finish loading this folder. But hopefully itll sort itself out soon. I have work tomorrow. Time in the studio. My last extra day for install. Which is terrifying to me. and then our dress rehearsal!! Ah!! Wish me luck!

The first picture was taken a little over a year ago, I wasn’t quite at my biggest here as I was too embarrassed with myself to take a before pic. My starting weight was about 224 pounds and the second pic that I took last week on vacation I am 178lbs. I’ve lost 46lbs in total and gained about 6lbs in muscle but still have more to go. At first it was unbelievably tough but now I have made a lifestyle change and feel so much better about myself physically and mentally. Just figured I would post my progress here as I remember going through other people’s post of their weight loss and fitness journey’s and it really inspired me!
