look, i am a disgusting shell of a human right now because i can’t shower until the dressing comes off my back wound, so i’m literally wearing the same thing i was wearing when i left hospital on friday; this shirt and some black ~lounge pants with hearts on them that are no longer on asos but are the most comfortable thing i own. (i did manage to clean all the medical tape residue off my arms with eucalyptus oil yesterday, which is a relief but also i smell like a vicks vapourub factory so add that to your mental image of me rn)
24. What are you sitting on right now?
my bed, because when i go to far from it i get dizzy and have to go back and lie down, MERRY CHRISTMAS
33. Are you a jealous person?
i’d love to be like “nahhhhh as if” but you know, i totally am. sometimes over really irrational stuff too, like stuff i don’t WANT but like, i wish i wanted? ugh whatever we are all trash trying to escape our bins, let’s accept it and move on.

Rules: In a text post, list ten books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard — they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you. Tag [ten] friends, including me, so I’ll see your list. Make sure you let your friends know you’ve tagged them.

when i was 15 i slipped down some stairs at school and broke my left humerus (basically the bone in your bicep, not actually very humerus), about a week before a band tour, so that was fun;
the first week i was living in providence (so i was about 20-21) i got up to turn off my alarm and slipped on the v slippery wooden floor, landing on my left elbow & chipping the ulna (p much your funny bone, again not as funny as the name would suggest.) cool health care system you have there america, it cost me nearly $1000 to have an xray & for someone to give me a sling & a painkiller prescription. i felt a little better when my housemate’s dog fell in exactly the same way jumping off my bed a week later (she did not injure anything but her pride, forch);
so in 2011, like the friday after i quit the job i had before the one i have now, i had joyously had a few drinks bc i was so happy to be free of that hell hole, and i was making tea and dancing to florence and the machine in the kitchen & one of my ankles gave out as it often does & i caught myself on my right hand, which broke the bone connecting my wrist to my hand. i was due to start my current job in 3 weeks, which i ended up just getting paid out to me in sick leave (don’t ask, i left that job on pretty bad terms with them), and i then had to spend the next few weeks telling people that story as a first impression at a new job. COOOOOL.
AND last year i was at questacon with mimi speep ostensibly “doing research” for a paper i was writing but mostly just being adult jerks in a kids science museum, i was running past a pole & i caught my left little finger on it and broke the metacarpal (the bit where your wrist joins your knuckle.) then followed a really weird night where mimi stayed with me at the hospital til 1am because she is a champ & they xrayed my hand three times & tried to decide if they were going to need to put a pin in it & if so could they refer me to a doctor in sydney (they didn’t and they could, so it ended up being fine, but it was very ugh there for a while)
I’M FRAGILE AS HELL, IT’S TERRIBLE.
25. Do you wear glasses? If so, how long have you been wearing glasses?
i do, obvs lol (although not the ones in my icon which is from 2008 i…think? around then anyway, i can’t change it now on principle.) i had reading ones from about 6 til i was around 16, at which point my vision was like “eh, fuck this” & decided i was basically super short sighted, & it’s kind of been getting worse since then? yay, defectives!
37. What is word that you always seem to spell wrong?
oh god heaps. committed i always have to think about. accommodation? any of the ent/ant ones are bad for me, keeping them straight is a full time job.
