You use Paul Newman as inspiration for Jamie in FMM? 😍😍😍 I love you a lot.
Apologies in advance for gushing
>>PAUL NEWMAN **IS** 20TH-CENTURY JAMIE.<<
A man with no enemies is a man with no character.
I don’t like to discuss my marriage, but I will tell you something which may sound corny but which happens to be true. I have steak at home. Why should I go out for hamburger?
I’d like to be remembered as a guy who tried — tried to be part of his times, tried to help people communicate with one another, tried to find some decency in his own life, tried to extend himself as a human being. Someone who isn’t complacent, who doesn’t cop out.
I don’t think there’s anything exceptional or noble in being philanthropic. It’s the other attitude that confuses me.
You can’t be as old as I am without waking up with a surprised look on your face every morning: ‘Holy Christ, whaddya know - I’m still around!’ It’s absolutely amazing that I survived all the booze and smoking and the cars and the career.“
**holy WOW those eyes**
**Just holy wow**
It started because they’re the same age.
Paul was born within a year or two of Jamie’s 20th century equivalent birthdate, so I started using him as insp mostly for clothing and hair reference, but gawd, the more I looked, the more perfect he was!!
Holy god, this man was SEXY AS HELL.
FOR DECADESSSS. I swear, he is the perfect example of how Jamie would have aged over the years—the age showing on him, yes, but keeping that same Jamie-ness beneath.
Then my feels truly went off the deep end when I saw pictures of him as a Dad. .
tragically, he also lost a child.
And above all, RELATIONSHIP GOALS.
Honestly, go read up on his relationship with Joanne Woodward. Bring tissues. The closest thing I’ve ever heard of to an IRL lifelong OTP like J/C. 50 years married, and I swear, every single picture of them makes me cry from the tenderness.
