Nigel Mansell brings home the victory from the Hungarian Grand Prix in 1989. Having had a bad qualifying session, Mr. Mansell started twelfth on the grid but was already up till eighth in the first corner. With luck and skill, he overtook Ayrton Senna who hesitated to overtake Stefan Johansson and won the race by 26 seconds, also setting the fastest lap time.

Nigel was the last driver to be personally contracted by Enzo Ferrari, who praised him for his persistence & courage he was offered an F40 by Enzo when he signed for Ferrari in ‘89 Nigel would stay on at the Scuderia for 2 seasons, scoring 3 wins, 7 podiums, 3 pole positions & 6 fastest laps
Gerhard Berger, Ferrari 640, 1989 Belgian Grand Prix, Francorchamps
Berger had a dismal year in ‘89, only finished 3 of the 15 races he competed (he didn’t enter the Monaco Grand Prix, Ferrari decided only to field one car because of the injuries Berger had sustained at Imola 2 weeks earlier) however the races he did finish (Monza, Estoril & Jerez de la Frontera) were always podium positions, two 2nd places at Monza & Jerez & quite a dominant victory at Estoril (after Mansell crashed out together with Senna)
