Refosco from Mr. Felluga. The first opportunity I have had to try a wine from this varietal. Huge nose of ripe fruits, spices, cinnamon and the most intriguing hint of double-bubble. Rich and balanced, with ripe, smooth tannins. Long finish. Delicious and enjoyable.
An enjoyable Pinot Grigio 2010 DOC Colli Orientali del Friuli by Livio Felluga. Bright with medium intensity lemon color with green hues and wide rim. Clean on the nose with medium+ intensity of developing aromas of ripe green fruits like pear, lychee, green apple, melon, mango, vanilla, almond, sweet spice and pineapple. Dry in the palate with medium acidity, medium alcohol and body, medium intensity aromas like sweet flowers, spices and lychee, green apple, melon, mango, vanilla, almond, sweet spice and pineapple. A bit oil and well-rounded but lacks the acidity to be lively. The length is medium+ and the overall quality is very good without a lot of complexity. Best to enjoy now.
