feet in car

there are few places to be that are more dangerous than between me and fresh pizza
bangtan as things

[namjoon] nighttime after it’s rained and the ground is wet, the reflection of streetlights beneath your feet. cars pass and you’re alone, the feeling of turning pages, whether metaphorically or literally, libraries, dark coffee, literature, dried flowers, pencil shavings, stacked books, grey hoodies, using up your entire battery in one sitting.

[seokjin] the comfort of being with someone you love, friendly banter, love letters, ballads, fairy lights, ivory furniture, lattes, lullabies, neat studying notes, desks littered with figurines, lipstick kisses on napkins, incense.

[yoongi] the empty feeling that comes when you stay up too late or when you sleep too much, never being happy enough with your self-care, the sun that warms your chest in the dead of winter, poetry, forehead kisses, small meaningful tattoos, curtains that let in light and bring a sense of comfort and warmth to a room, snowflakes or raindrops clinging to eyelashes, the slow sound of windshield wipers, the melancholic hum of background music, ocean spray, winter breeze, flickering streetlights, the rush you feel from a first love, a first kiss.

[hoseok] group hugs, words of encouragement, doodles, a hand rubbing circles on your back, a shoulder to put your head on or the head that’s on your shoulder, an arm interlaced with yours, the giddy laughter between childhood friends, carnival games, kisses pressed to your forehead and to the palms of your hands.

[jimin] warm sheets, hot chocolate and marshmallows, falling asleep by the fireplace, listening to the ost of a movie over and over again, vivid skies, hair that sweeps across like waves in the ocean, running barefoot on the beach, waltzes, falling autumn leaves, someone holding your face in their hands, kisses intentionally missing your mouth and tracing the outline of your face, secretly holding hands.

[taehyung] the feeling of fingers running through your hair, hearing someone else’s heartbeat when you lay your head on their chest, rainbow hair ties, putting daisies in your hair, falling asleep in a meadow, plush toys, someone pushing brushing or kissing away your tears.

[jungkook] night skies that look like blankets of glitter, the allure of the stars making you want to reach out and touch them, warm showers, wind that’s possessive, ocean spray, spilled glitter, velvet, sleeping with your headphones in, the worn down keys on a computer keyboard, trading cards collections, biting your nails, resting your head against the car window, shy smiles, backhugs.

When Irina is six and Mikhail is three and a half, Viktor and Yuuri visit Japan and while they’re there, they take the kids to the beach. Viktor, standing in the surf, notices the tide beginning to recede.

“That’s strange,” says Viktor, glancing over his shoulder, “the tide came early today.”

Viktor watches as Yuuri immediately grabs one child under each arm, and begins running to the boardwalk

“THAT’S NOT THE TIDE,” Yuuri screams over his shoulder.

That is how Viktor Nikiforov is forfeited to a minor tsunami by his husband. It knocks him down and pulls down his swim shorts. Later in the day, Yuuri laughs as Viktor picks seaweed out of his pubic hair.

“Why am I married to you,” Viktor mutters.

A few weeks later, someone posts a video titled “Viktor Nikiforov is pwned by a mini-tsunami.”

“Who even uses the word pwned anymore?” Yuuri mumbles as he watches the video for the sixth time. In the distance, the video catches Yuuri sprinting with the kids.

Lol @ Katsuki, read many comments. Take the kids, leave the husband.

(In about twenty-five years, this video will be shown at Mikhail’s wedding. Koichi will shout, “YOU SHOULD HAVE LET HIM BE RETURNED TO THE SEA,” and is hit in the arm by not only their girlfriend, but also by two of their siblings and Lilia.)

dean doing soft and quiet things for cas

  • helping him fall asleep by holding him close and rubbing his back and lightly playing with his hair
  • forehead kisses in the morning as a greeting when he’s already up and awake and cas stumbles down the hall in search of coffee
  • building cas a place he can garden outside the bunker, researching things like seeds and soil and what will grow this time of year
  • picking out little trinkets and knick knacks for cas for no reason other than “i dunno, thought you might like it”
  • giving him a foot massage while they lounge on the couch watching a movie, cas’ feet in his lap
  • fixing his car whenever he hears any sort of mysterious clank or rattle, giving her a checkup at least once a month just to make sure everything’s good and she’s running safely
  • grabbing cas’ hand just briefly and lightly whenever they walk past each other, stroking his thumb slightly before letting go
  • dean saying i love you to cas with his every action, and cas knowing dean well enough to hear it

Gloria Dawn, photography by Elmer Batters.

This is the third and final photo taken in Batters’ car at the end of the desert shoot. Now I was trying to look as good as I could given the awkward position. This is one of Batters’ iconic poses although I didn’t know that when we were shooting. Because he had photos of so many models in almost this exact pose, this picture was never published. Shortly after this was taken, we drove to a small bungalow in the San Fernando Valley where Batters took a series of indoor photos.

summer house aesthetics

HUFFLEPUFF- the smell of honeysuckle and warm breezes ruffling hair; dry grass crunching underneath sandals; lemon popsicles and flushed cheeks; closing your eyes and feeling the sun; a picnic basket being opened

RAVENCLAW- collapsing in the shade of a tree; crunching the ice from a cold drink between your teeth; pages of a book being turned by the wind; the scent of blueberries and freshly cut grass; cloud gazing in the company of a friend

SLYTHERIN- the sound of car tires crunching on gravel; leaving your house to go on a long trip; unexpected summer rainstorms; taking off your shoes after a long walk; spilling cold water all over yourself; loose tank tops and bare feet; wet hair making water droplets run down your back

GRYFFINDOR- the crackling of a summer bonfire; tying your hair up; sand between toes; breathless laughter from friends’ open mouths; putting your feet on a car dashboard; sunglasses and floppy hats; the reflection of fireworks in someone’s eyes
