It’s called “Love: The Fox” and it is gorgeous! No words, just pictures. There is another version with a tiger, but I like this one better. Because well…it’s about a fox. Come on people, that counts for something!
Publication Date: February 10, 2015, Magnetic Press, Diamond Book Distributors
Synopsis: A day in the life of a tiger in the jungle as it hunts prey and defends itself. This story is told without narration or dialogue but through beautiful illustrations.

Review: This is the first book I got through Netgalley, so I was excited to try it out. This book did not disappoint. While I expected narration or dialogue (not reading the synopsis on the site), the story did not need a single word to tell what turned out to be a beautiful and surprisingly eventful story. I can’t even draw smiley faces with more than superficial emotion but Bertolucci is able to show a myriad of emotions on the creatures he draws. Not only does he show emotion, though, he weaves a story of loss, love, and and connection just with his panels. It was pretty incredible to go through as an ebook; I can only imagine how more beautiful it is on paper.
The only piece of criticism I do have, though, is with the rating on the profile. While this may not be completely accurate, the book is classified as a children’s book and for all ages. I will say that the book did contain some relatively graphic violence and one sexual image. Despite this, I can see kids enjoying the book, I would just say that “all-ages” is a little too open-ended.
Overall, though, beautiful book! I didn’t see it on Goodreads but I hope it goes up there eventually so I can share it further with you guys!

But when nature throws cataclysmic weather into the mix, it becomes a race for survival… and Love. LOVE: THE FOX follows a spry, intrepid, one-eyed fox during an average day of foraging when a natural disaster erupts. Readers are taken on a thrill ride as animals of all shapes and sizes react to the danger, but the fox inexplicably runs towards the fire, braving daunting obstacles and looming predators to reach a desperate location in the heart of the storm… This second volume in the celebrated LOVE series is another beautiful all-ages title that explores genuine natural behavior, like a nature documentary told through the dramatic lens of Disney-esque storytelling. LOVE: THE FOX a lavish, gorgeously rendered and ultimately heartwarming story that is a monument to modern sequential narrative.”
Magnetic Press is releasing the second in a series of all-ages graphic novels that depict the realities of the animal kingdom in some of the most beautiful artwork I’ve ever seen. In this beautiful wordless tale we see the fox’s normal day turned on it’s ear when disaster strikes the forest. He and the other creatures must flee or die, so why is the fox running toward the danger? Love: The Fox by…
