Elevator B is a collaborative project between graduate students from the University at Buffalo’s School of Architecture and Planning (B a/p) and Rigidized Metals, a Buffalo based building material manufacturer. The overall goal of the project was to successfully design for the relocation and habitation of a colony of honeybees occupying a building at Silo City, a dense cluster of grain elevators in Buffalo, NY.
Once a year, the Pigeon Point lighthouse in California changes out of their modern light and brings the old Fresnel lens back for a few hours. Better still, they freeze it for five minutes just for us photographers so that we can capture the beams.

This unnervingly poetic collection of photographs by Julia Solis depicts the fading glamour of an entire range of international theaters, ranging from the remnants of ornate movie palaces to shabby vaudeville houses. Using abandoned spaces as both subject and canvas, Solis details the theaters’ stages and decorative elements as well as the eerie toll that age and entropy have taken on the formerly elegant surfaces.
The National Statuary Hall Collection in the United States Capitol comprises statues donated by individual states to honor persons notable in their history. Originally set up in the old Hall of the House of Representatives, renamed National Statuary Hall, the expanding collection has since been spread throughout the Capitol.
