“i missed something didn’t i?”
it was christmas eve and the kids were overly excited. all day you had been running around the house, preparing everything for when you had both yours and shawn’s families over tomorrow.
thankfully the kids stayed in the living room or their rooms all day watching christmas movies or else you would’ve been even more stressed out.
and to add to it all, shawn wasn’t going to be home until later. he was stuck in boston because of a storm and the earliest flight he could get was late at night. you were thankful he could at least make it home for christmas.
when you told the kids the situation, they insisted that you wait to eat and open presents until shawn gets home. you were fine with that considering you were just as eager to see your husband as the kids were.
“mom!” your 6 year old son alex walked into the living room where you sat, feeding your 5 month old daughter.
“you forgot to put your pyjamas on!” he exclaimed, handing you the unopened bag of red and white striped christmas pyjamas. when you went christmas shopping a few weeks ago, alex along with his siblings, insisted that this year you all wore matching pyjamas.
you took the bag from his hand, “thank you, i almost forgot. i’ll put them on when i’m done here.”
he nodded, walking out of the room to find his brother. it took a little extra convincing for your 13 year old dylan, to wear the pyjamas. but luckily you were able to succeed.
your daughter was already dressed in her white and red striped onesie, and she had a little pacifier with a reindeer on it.
once you finished feeding her and she had fallen asleep, you carried her upstairs with you so you could change into your pyjamas.
“boys,” you called, poking your head into the game room where they were. “let’s go watch a movie while we wait for dad.”
they happily followed you into the living room as the three of you tried to pick a movie to watch. the boys decided they both wanted to sit on the couch with you and their sister, so you were all snuggled up under one blanket.
they decided they wanted to watch elf, their all time favourite christmas movie. you chuckled as the opening started playing, knowing that they were going to be bored of it soon since they’ve seen elf a million times.
about halfway into the movie, alex was asleep on you and so was your daughter. dylan luckily had stayed awake, his phone keeping him busy.
You loved Christmas, especially the Christmas movies. “What’s your favourite?” Fred asks. You grin, “I don’t have a favourite but I do love Elf, Home Alone 2 and Grinch.” George frowns in confusion, “What kind of Christmas film is Grinch?” You gasps, “You have never watched Grinch? Well that has to change. It’s my favourite Christmas movie and I’m making you watch it.” No one argued with you as you went to put in the movie.
hello! for your thing, i'd like option 1for rebelcaptain and some conglomeration of "holy shit i just realized i’ve liked you for the past 8274 years and i really wish i didn’t but i dO and everyone somehow knows about it except for you oh my god why is this happening to me" and" we’re best friends and i’ve been in love with you for forever but i’m 3000% sure you just see me as a friend except why is this sexual tension happening rn" lol thanks!!
HELLO okay i’m sorry this took so long but HERE YOU GO!
The revelation hits Jyn, quite literally, out of nowhere.
She’s alone at home, sitting on her couch and watching Die Hard simply because it happened to be airing on the first channel she landed on. A sudden thought crosses her mind — an image of Cassian’s horrified-fond expression as she’d insisted that Die Hard was her favourite Christmas movie of all time — and all of a sudden, her entire spine goes rigid, her eyes rounding in their sockets.
Holy shit, her brain whisper-shouts, the inaudible sound bouncing off the walls of her head. You’re in love with Cassian.
She sits motionless for the rest of the movie, unable to see or hear anything Bruce Willis says or does onscreen.
Contrary to popular belief, it’s not that Jyn doesn’t have feelings.
It’s just that — well, they’re so inconvenient.
What have feelings ever done for anyone, anyway? What practical use have they ever amounted to? All they’re known to do is cause awkwardness and pain and misunderstandings. Usually all three, come to think of it.

can i have a one shot where it is reader's first christmas away from home and she hinks no one at Robichaeux's notices how sad she is until Kyle surprises her.
Pairings: Kyle Spencer x Female!reader
A/N: Requests are open
Warnings: FLUFF! Mentions of Kyle x Zoe.
Gifs aren’t mine.
It was Y/N’s first year at Robichaeux’s and she believed she was settling in quite well. She didn’t feel homesick as much as she anticipated and she got on with most of the girl’s. She was closest with Queenie and Zoe of all the girl’s and often spent her time messing around with them.
However at Christmas and the days leading up to it, Y/N had never felt so lonely.
All the rest of the girls had gone home for Christmas and even Cordelia had travelled for the holidays. Y/N had no one to spend the holiday with as even Zoe and Queenie had gone home. But Y/N remained at the school, all alone - or so she thought.
Y/N rested her head against the chilled glass of her bedroom window, watching as snowflakes floated downwards. The ground underneath was already coated with a thick layer of soft, white snow. If Y/N had someone to go and play in the snow with, that’s where she’d be right now. Yet she was alone.
She sighed, moving from her spot and over to her bookshelf. She picked up her copy of ‘A Christmas Carol’, her fingers tracing the intricate design on the front. She smiled, reminiscing on how her mother had read it to her as a child.
Y/N frowned, deciding she would sit on the top of the stairs and read for awhile.
Y/N was a stave into ‘A Christmas Carol’ when her ears picked up shuffling coming from downstairs, most likely from the kitchen. She cautiously closed the book, placed it down and stood up, glancing around. Perhaps a bird somehow fell down one of the chimneys and into the fireplace. Y/N did not know.
She went against her instincts to just ignore it and called out, “hello? Who’s there?”
She hesitantly started to descend down the stairs, gripping the banister so hard her knuckles turned white. She could feel her heart rate increasing drastically, pounding against her chest like it was about to bust out.
She got to the foot of the stairs, looking left and right. The shuffling had stopped. She frowned deeply, eyebrows knitting together in the upmost confusion. She padded across the cold floor, heading towards the kitchen. She popped her head around the corner, sighing when she saw a mop of blonde hair.
“Kyle, what are you doing here?” Y/N asked, wandering over to him. “I thought Zoe took you with her to her hometown…”
“Mhm, no. I…I insisted that I stayed here in case you got lonely.” Kyle smiled sheepishly, cheeks tinting pink.
“I-I wouldn’t have minded if you went. What’re you doing?” Y/N queried, raising an eyebrow as she attempted to peak over Kyle’s shoulder, but he blocked her.
“A surprise? For who?” Y/N persisted, stepping on her tip-toes in an attempt to see.
Y/N’s cheeks warmed up, “for me?” She squeaked. “Well, when can I know what my surprise is?”
Y/N laughed when Kyle growled slightly at whatever he was doing. She hopped onto the island counter, watching as Kyle worked away on her unknown surprise.
Kyle turned around, grinning at Y/N, the surprise still unbeknown to her. His hands held behind his back, he strode towards her until he was right in front of her. He brought the surprise out from behind his back, revealing a poorly wrapped box. Y/N glanced up at him momentarily before Kyle placed it on her knees.
Y/N cautiously unwrapped it, smile growing with every second. Once all the wrapping paper was shredded, Y/N opened the box to find a bunch of Y/N’s favourite Christmas movies and a new book that Y/N had been dying to read.
“How’d you know?” Y/N asked, looking up at Kyle with watery eyes.
“I heard you talking about them to Zoe a few days before she left then she took me to the store so I could buy them for you.”
Y/N sniffled, placing the box down onto the counter and embracing Kyle in a tight hug.
“Thank you, Kyle, it means so much. No ones ever done something like this for me.”
“Y-You deserve that and more.” Kyle admitted, smiling into her shoulder. The pair soon pulled away, but remained in close proximity of one another.
“What one do you want to watch first? You can pick, because you’re such a great friend.”
“Mhm? The Nightmare before Christmas.” Kyle decided after some deliberation.
“Good choice.” Y/N handed him the film. “You go put it in the tv in my room and I’ll make some snacks.”
Kyle nodded eagerly before rushing off, almost slipping as his sock clad feet padded across the floor. Y/N laughed. Even after he was long gone, the smile didn’t leave her face.

Zodiac Advent Calendar Day 1: What the signs remind me of (winter/Christmas edition)
having crazy snowball-fights or building a snowman, snowflakes trapped in your hair or lashes, taking a walk through the christmasy decorated city, the feeling of warmth streaming through your body when you come home after a long and cold day
baking christmas cookies, hot chocolate, misty breath, warm sweaters, the smell of cinnamon, lighting all the christmas candles in the house, decorating the living room, christmas dinner with the whole family
lighting the christmas tree for the first time, breathing in the cold and cleansing winter air, the excitement you feel when you wake up to see the first snow of the year, stuffing your belly with christmas treats, knitted socks
christmas shopping, big scarves and oversized coats, writing christmas cards, long walks on the snow-covered field, the sound of boots walking on the snowy street, gingerbread men, candy canes
christmas markets, staying in with your best friends, ice skating, singing christmas songs at the top of your lungs, hundreds of blankets and pillows, chimneys, the sound of the snow pusher passing by, making snow angels
reading christmas novels and stories in the candlelight, searching for the right christmas tree, mulled wine, wearing your long pyjamas all day, chocolate santas, watching old fairy tale movies on tv
wrapping and unwrapping christmas presents, the excitement you feel when someone is about to open your present, the way snow is glistening in the sun, snow-powdered forests, christmas lights everywhere, different coloured baubles, christmas commercials
watching my favourite christmas movies from childhood all over again, foggy winter mornings, the colour burgundy, advent calendars, oranges, icicles hanging from the gutter, driving through a snowstorm in the evening
secret santa, creating a christmas playlist, santa hats, nutcrackers, reindeers everywhere, winter hikes with your loved ones, cuddly evenings on the couch, sleigh rides, glittery decoration, silver and gold
roasted chestnuts, St. Nicholas day, gingerbread houses, the smell of pine, red noses and rosy cheeks, the way christmas presents look under the tree, watching The Grinch, heavy perfume, kissing under the mistletoe, coming home for Christmas
sitting on the windowsill watching the snow fall, drinking tea, the way trees look without their leaves (a little bit creepy but strangely beautiful), baked apple, warm baths, the star on top of the Christmas tree
listening to Frank Sinatra's voice singing Christmas songs half asleep, being wrapped in blankets, christmas jumpers, cinnamon flavoured popcorn, cosy slippers, genuine anticipation, scented candles, turtlenecks

Hi, about to have surgery on tuesday morning. A little freaked out bc this is a repeat op and I really struggled with recovery/pain after. So I just really need some Evan X Reader post-op comfort fluff if you’re up to it. Thank you
Author’s Note: Hope you like the story and I hope your surgery went well :)
I open my eyes to find myself surrounded by the noises of a
medical facility. The room around me buzzes with the sounds of machines and I open
my eyes slightly but I’m blinded by the sheer amount of light that fills the
room. Blinding lights bounce off the white hospital walls and it takes longer
than it usually would for my eyes to adjust to the new light that surrounds my
senses. The sheer smell of cleaning products that I’ve come to associate with
such facilities confirm that I am in fact lying in a hospital bed before anyone
can confirm it for me.
“You’re awake! Can you hear me Y/N?” A familiar voice rings
in my ears. I turn my head to the side slowly and see Evan, my boyfriend,
sitting by my bedside.
“Hi.” I smile tiredly and he lets out a pent up sigh of
relief, “Why am I in the hospital?”
“You’re appendix ruptured.” He says and my eyes widen in
shock as my hand travels down to the skin on my waist and feel a bandage over
the spot where the useless organ had been removed, “Do you remember that now?”
“I remember screaming in pain,” I say sadly, looking up into
his worried eyes, “And then everything went black.”
“Yeah you passed out pretty much straight away.” He says,
gripping my hand tightly and I give his a tight squeeze, “I was so scared.”
“It’s okay, I’m going to be fine.” I whisper and reach up,
wincing slightly, to wipe a tear from his cheek.
Before long the doctor comes in to check on me and I find out
that I can leave the next day as I smile happily at her before she leaves and I
turn my head towards Evan, happiness radiating from my eyes.
“See, I’m going to be just fine.” I say and he leans in,
pressing his lips softly to mine.
“I never had a doubt.” He smirks before sliding back into his
chair, “Sleep, you need some rest.”
With that I close my eyes and let my excitement for leaving
the hospital the next day take over my vision as I drifted into a deep sleep.
Come the next day I was beyond excited to be discharged from
the hospital. I still wasn’t allowed to do much and Evan had to push me on a
wheelchair for a few weeks but the bottom line was that I was going to be just
“Can I get you anything?” Evan asks as he props me up in our
bed so I’m sitting against the bedhead.
“How about hot coco and a movie?” I ask smiling, knowing that
he’ll relax more as this is the routine we always have when one of us is sick.
“I’ll be right back then.” He smirks, giving me a quick kiss
on the forehead before hastily leaving the room to go prepare our drinks.
After a short while of sitting alone in our room Evan appears
through the doorway holding two scolding mugs of coco with steam rising from
the liquid. He walks over, careful not to spill them and hands one to me. I use
the end of my sweater arms to hold the cup so it doesn’t burn my skin as Evan
rounds the bed to rejoin me in his spot.
“What movie are we thinking then?” He asks smiling and taking
a small drink of his beverage.
“Surprise me.” I whisper back, smiling equally as wide as he
plants a kiss on my lips before turning his attention to Netflix and eagerly
scrolling through the list of movies before landing on The Nightmare Before
Christmas, my favourite movie.
“It was so scary to see you in that hospital bed.” Evan says,
barely a whisper, about half way through the movie.
“I’m right here.” I say soothingly, turning to face him and
seeing his eyes glistening with tears, “I’m going to be just fine. If I’m
completely honest it’s pretty scary to wake up in a hospital bed and not know
“I’m always going to be here for you.” He whispers, taking my
hand in his, “We get through these things, together.”
“I love you.” I say through tears that had now found their
way to my eyes.
“I love you too.” he says before crashing his lips to mine. Our
lips move in a slow and gentle kiss that’s fueled for an undying passion.
Breathless, I pull away and giggle slightly, looking down at
my hands but Evan lifts my chin so my gaze meets his again and giving a light,
quick kiss on my lips once more.
“You should get some rest.” He says and I nod in agreeance
before allowing him to help me maneuver myself in the bed so I lay down facing
“Promise you’ll stay with me?” I ask quietly as I feel my
eyes getting heavier.
“Always.” He whispers in response, moving his body closer to
mine and wrapping an arm protectively around my waist and in the secure arms of
the man I love than anything in the entire world, I allow myself to fall
