I just finished binge watching all of Veronica Mars and I need more. Do you have an fic recs that you could give me please? Any type will do as long as it's LoVe. Thank you!

Oh boy, I have a ton of recs, though it really depends on the mood you’re in. I find its better to rec authors over fics, because many of my reds are by the same authors, so we could be here all day.

My personal favorite is Vanessagalore, who covers a lot of different genres, from smutty crack (seriously go read ‘Cowboy Up’ and ‘Coq of the Walk’ Immediately!) to thrillers (‘The Year of Living Dangerously’ and its sequel, ‘Precipitation’ are amazing). Most of her stuff if on FF.net.

If you want raging UST o the point of clawing at your own curtains, hit up some fics by my old beta, @mysilverylining - they are all charming and wonderful, and she has too many to list here, but 'Sometimes’ is a big fave.

If you want angst, @absolutelyiris is your woman, though my favorites of hers are her 'The Long Way Home’ and 'Deadly Poisons’ - which is a very cracky Piz POV that is WAY better than you imagine a Piz POV will be.

If you’re looking for pastiche, @vmsteenbeans has a great Jane Austin/Bronte tribute, though 'Knowing the Difference’ is probably her most popular and it’s wonderful.

Other great writers to check out: @nevertothethird @susanmichelin, @scandalpantsstuff, @disdainfullady

There are a ton of other really talented people I know I’m forgetting - we are spoiled for choice in our fandom. I’m leaving a million people off this list (please don’t kill me anybody, I’m doing this on no sleep!).

You can also check out @vmficrecs for some more great fic recs (hence the name 😉)

If you REALLY want to go deep, you have to get to the fics on LiveJournal, and you’re going to need a shovel and a map for that. The stuff on LJ is some of the best in the fandom - most written during or immediately after the run of the show - but it’s nearly impossible to find unless you already know it’s there.

You should ask the people at vmficrecs if they have a link for LJ fics, because it’s worth it. OMG so so so worth it. Seriously, so gd good and worth the trouble of locating all of the horocruxes.

You’re so lucky, because you get to read all of these for the first time! Hope this gets you started!

Public Service Announcement - whatever you do, avoid the fic 'Finite Erasure’ (aka. The fic that shall not be named) like it has the Ebola virus and wants to sit next to you on an intercontinental flight. It’s very well written, the author is talented, but it will fuck you up for YEARS. Don’t believe me? Ask anybody who hasn’t heeded my warning. They will tell you. It’s torture porn and it will blacken your soul and you will never be able to unread it. And you will want to unread it. It will keep you up at night. It will give you nightmares.

11: What’s your favorite book cover?

Umm….. I dont think I really have one.

36: Do you listen to music when you write?

Yup! Can’t write without it. (Check what I listen to here) *I’ll link it when I get home*

37: What’s your you oldest WIP?

It’s called “Make Our Way Back Home”, it’s a klance fic that I started in the summer.

50: If you could live in any fictional world, which would it be?

Hmmm…. Well I’d love to live in the world of Harry Potter, or maybe the world in the Eragon books.

I hope you guys all enjoyed the new episode! Here’s the full painting I did to celebrate the season premiere, officially commissioned by the Doctor Who: Earth Conquest documentary!

I had the amazing opportunity to present this artwork to Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman, and Steven Moffat themselves, so this piece really means a lot to me. (Full story on that meeting here!)

I forgot how Glorfindel just shows up in Fellowship and his only description is that he was shiny and had really great hair. He then proceeds to offer them all alcohol and let’s Frodo borrow his horse. What a guy.

Daughter of Smoke and Bone Trilogy by Laini Taylor

“She had been innocent once, a little girl playing with feathers on the floor of a devil’s lair. She wasn’t innocent now, but she didn’t know what to do about it. This was her life: magic and shame and secrets and teeth and a deep, nagging hollow at the center of herself where something was most certainly missing.”

“Shake it Off” by Slow No Wake & Mapkeeper // Originally by Taylor Swift (2014)

Here’s the haunting cover of Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” that you didn’t realize that you needed in your life. This sweet, yet eerie dream pop cover comes courtesy of two artists creating long distance music through the magic of the internets - Chicago’s Slow No Wake & Montreal’s Mapkeeper. It’s a quiet stunner that brings a wonderful new layer to the infectious hit that surely even Taylor herself would dig! You can even grab a free download at Mapkeeper’s Bandcamp
