I’m a girl that LOVES angst and fights between couples but usually hates how writers choose to depict such scenes on screen. Up until now my only favorite on screen couple fight lines were these: “Were are you going?” “Home, away. I don’t know, I’m having trouble to even looking at you right now.” because it immediately strikes a cord you know? But then tonight’s episode of Riverdale came and Bughead’s fight was everything I could ask for. “To think I was gonna pass moving to Toledo with my family for you.” The line alone, along with Jughead’s hushed “for you” pierces right through the heart; the despair with which he says it, the disappointment in his voice that he had invested his future into somebody that he never thought was going to let him down is trully so deliciously painful to watch. The ground gets pulled from under his feet once again, hope brings him misery once again and this is so obvious in his statement, in his tone of voice, his facial expression, his posture. And then Betty’s teary and surprised “oh” comes, trembling out of her lips, and you can sense the moment she realizes that he’d always put her first and made decisions considering the both of them, a realization that stings at the moment because he seems regretful that he did so considering that her trust to him was easily bended. There’s an intensity in the fight, the same intensity that colors their feelings towards each other, and it went perfectly with the mentallity that is Betty and Jughead.
A 30 second half assed proposal for an episode where we saw maybe 1 minute overall of Sanvers interacting is the cherry on top of an awful second half of season 2 for our favorite canon couple.
From a distinct lack of screen time to little to no shown interaction outside of DEO/police work. Lena and Kara are shown on more “friendship dates” than we ever get to see of Maggie and Alex. The valentines day episode, the cheating episode, and the kidnap episode had the most interaction (of a personal nature not work related). In all of those there was some large issue that they had to overcome with a very quick resolution shown at the end.
I wanted to see Sanvers be cute and romantic. The good morning wake up scene in the very first episode was the first and last time we saw that this season. I wanted dates and wake up cuddles. I wanted hold me because I’m scared after being kidnapped and you don’t have to be strong with me brush the tears away caresses.
Where was Sanvers going to the dog shelter to get Gertrude? Or moving in together because they were ready for the next step in their relationship?
Maggie who runs from all sorts of commitments is smiling ready to marry someone she dated for less than a year? That’s fine, but dammit show me the in between scenes that have led her character to evolving from being a runner and pushing Alex away less than a year ago to ready to get arried and commit the rest of her life to this woman.
So this? on top of a season of let downs? Was the largest upset of them all.

Supergirl's Melissa Benoist Files for Divorce From Blake Jenner
Melissa Benoist is putting an end to her marriage.
TMZ reports that the Supergirl star has filed for divorce from husband Blake Jenner after four years of marriage.
According to court documents obtained by the publication, Melissa cited “irreconcilable differences” for the split and doesn’t want either party to give spousal support. The couple has no children together.
During their relationship, the couple appeared on two episodes of Supergirl together. At the time, Melissa gushed about working alongside her husband.
“We only have fun working together,” she told People. “He’s my person to act with. He’s my favorite scene partner, always.”
The couple was also able to share the small screen together on several episodes of the Fox series Glee where they first met.
“We clicked on his first day, during a ‘Born to Hand Jive’ dance rehearsal,” Melissa confessed to Teen Vogue. “I love talking about it. Blake is amazing! The chemistry you see with Marley and Ryder is not acting.” Back in September, the couple was all smiles as they traveled to the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival to support Blake’s latest project The Edge of Seventeen.
And while the couple tried their best to keep their relationship private, both parties occasionally posted photos of each other on social media.
“Here wit da coolest @MelissaBenoist at @austinfilm 2016 awards-Can’t wait 4 @EWSMovie premiere,” Blake shared on Twitter earlier this year. “#EverybodyWantsSome”
I was blown away by the level of interest I received for the Olicity Hiatus Fic-A-Thon, so it’s happening! And I’m so excited!
The rules are simple:
Every Wednesday I will post a new writing prompt.
You will have a week to write, beta, completely rework after a crisis of self-confidence, re-beta, and post your interpretation of the prompt the following Wednesday. (Yes, I’m a writer myself and am aware of the process we go through.)
Tag your response #OlicityHiatusFic or #OlicityHiatusFic-A-Thon (or both for you overachievers out there).
Look for the next prompt. Lather, rinse, repeat.
There is meant to be zero stress involved with this. If you can’t do it every week, that’s fine. Prompt just not working for you? Skip it. Need to post late? That’s perfectly okay!
This is just meant to be fun, get some creative juices flowing, and fulfill our desperate need for an Olicity fix on Wednesday nights until our favorite couple magically reappears on our screens in the fall. The final posting date will be the Wednesday just before Arrow returns to our screens in its new time slot on Thursdays.
There is no length requirement, no ratings requirement, no timeline requirement. It can be canon, AU, crossover, anything you want as long as it involves Olicity and incorporates the prompt.
THIS WEEK’S PROMPT:
In honor of the season finale that aired tonight, the prompt for this week is:
Thanks go to @missyriver for the assist in coming up with a great first prompt to tie-in with this season of Arrow!
Tagging those people who reblogged the original post or messaged me to let me know they wanted to be involved. If you want to join in on the fun, send me a message letting me know and I’ll get you added!
Good news, Felix: Your favorite couple gets some solid screen time in Wednesday’s season premiere, during which Murphy presents Emori with a certain… proposition. (Don’t expect too much happiness outside of those two, though. The gang is still facing a nuclear apocalypse, after all.)
I think its funny that the PCA’s renamed their award for the TV couple category from “Favorite On-Screen Chemistry” to “Favorite TV Duo”…. probably to see if another ship takes home the prize. But it, honestly, doesn’t matter what they call it… We all know who the couple on top will always be…
Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder was, are, and will always be…the People’s Choice.
Maybe Caroline and Klaus are careful/cautious friends, reconnected, so much has changed in their lives. But the fact remains, they still want to know each other. They go for walks.
For little strolls or drinks and just chat for minutes that stretch into hours. bidding their time.
Waiting for someone to reach out. To touch and have that touch linger. Maybe a look. A small glance lasting longer than it ought to.
To see if maybe, just maybe there’s something there that was there before. Maybe something more.
The flutter of her eyes. The curve of his smile. The last moment they see each other that day lingering until they get to do it all over again.
The way he chats about her currently nonexistent love life with their friends. Yes. Their friends.
The way she pours him a drink when he comes over and she cleans up her kitchen after he’s made a mess of it cooking for them.
If only to keep from telling him. Three words. Three small words.
Worse. So much worse. When he imposes on her place demanding he stay over because someone poses a threat against her safety.
Even worse. When her home is invaded and he protects her.
How could she hate him for it? Blame him? No. She simply loves him. All of him. His faults. Like loving her in return. Quietly.
Unlike before. More so. How he shows it plunges at her undead heart.
In the way he watches her. How he holds her when they dance. When he knows he’s been staring too long but he can’t quite look away.
Their story isn’t over. They both know it. They know it when their friends bring up the unsettled tension that fills the room.
The sparks that fly when they are seated together. The small bubble that forms around them as they banter and flirt.
How they forget about everyone else.
And everyone just watches. Like it’s their favorite show with their favorite couple on screen with no commercial breaks.
And they all wait. Wait for that one moment. That big moment. The one everyone pictures in their head and plays out so beautifully on the screen.
But it never happens. Two years pass. Nothing. Nothing but missed chances.
Exasperation ensues and one day they meet like any other day. Nothing out of the ordinary. Not really.
