White tea

Science is saying that white tea might be more effective than even green tea at preventing cell damage, shrinking cancerous tumours and stopping the growth of cancer cells. Plus it’s becoming the new cosmetic fix for aging skin. Beautiful!

Pu’erh tea

Traditional Chinese medicine prizes Pu’erh as a wonder tea. It’s said to aid digestion, cleanse the blood and help with weight loss. Studies in Europe are also saying it busts cholesterol as effectively as some medications.

Rooibos tea

It’s said that rooibos helps you recover from hangovers, and that it could slow dementia. Plus there’s evidence that it fights skin cancer and boosts the immune system. And it’s supposed to help with insomnia!

Yerba tea

Yerba mate is a fabulous stimulant, without the jitters. It’s also full of antioxidants, so there’s scientific speculation that it could have anti-cancer properties, help stimulate the immune system and protect against disease.

Herbs, spices, fruits and flowers have long been used in traditional medicine to cure everything from headaches, stomach bugs and colds to stress and insomnia. The power of the tea depends on its ingredients.

challenge: listen to 나야나 now

listening to 나야나 (nayana) right now makes me really nostalgic and….sad. It’s a bittersweet feeling. I remember watching the MV w/o knowing who any of them were, only seeing fresh, bright, and hopeful faces, and I remember picking favorites w/o knowing abt how much hardwork and soul they had poured into that performance. and now, almost 3 months later, I know just how much of themselves they threw into that 3 min performance and I’ve watched them improve and grow and develop right before my eyes but I’ve also seen them get knocked down so hard I was worried they wouldn’t be able to rise back up and I’ve had to see spirits completely stomped on and hope crushed. I’ve had to say goodbye to people who really made a spot for themselves in my heart, had to see their hearts break. But despite the pain, I’ve been lucky enough to witness them truly blossom as people and overcome the hardships together, united and now…now it’s all going to end about 2 days from now. These 3 months have gone by really fast, but I feel as if the development and growth they have undergone is worth years

i don’t know…just listen to 나야나 now…..it’s not a feeling I can describe well in words

it conjures this flood of emotions, yeah?

EXO: waking up and finding you asleep in their arms

Xiumin: this would stir something inside his lil heart, and Minseok wouldn’t be able to resist how adorably perfect you looked snuggled up to his chest. He’d tighten his arms around you and gently brush your hair aside, kissing your forehead. He tries his best to calm his breathing and heart beat, in hopes of falling back asleep in complete peace.

Suho: at first, he’d feel a little bad for falling asleep himself, bc he’d been wanting to spend time with you intimately, but he was just so tired. After waking up from feeling you stir in his arms, he’ll have the goofiest smile on his face. While trying not to wake you up, he’ll reposition himself on the couch so that you’d be more comfortable, and plays with your hair softly until you woke up.

Lay: the protective side within him would spark, and he feels a rush of love when he looked at your sleeping figure. This shows that you trust him enough to fall asleep in his arms, and that he doesn’t need to try too hard now to get you to open up and be carefree around him. Lots of “I love you, y/n’s” would ensue.

Baekhyun: it’ll be a miracle if he didn’t wake you up with all the excited squealing. He can barely contain himself, and wants to show you exactly how crazy you drive him when you do stuff like that. Don’t be surprised if he wakes you up, suddenly covering your face with unexplainable kisses and a bear hug.

Chen: just imagine him looking up at the ceiling, silently thanking whoever it is that made this possible…… bc it doesn’t even feel real. He’d get all happy and feel all fuzzy inside, just bc you managed to always make him go mush. Instead of going back to sleep, he’d cuddle you even more and wraps his arms tightly around yours.

Chanyeol: tbh he’s gonna start worrying bc ‘what if I was drooling’ ‘what if I accidentally kicked y/n’ ‘what if I snored really loudly omg’. He’d fail at making himself conformable again, all he’d be doing is shuffling his butt around the couch and might accidentally manage to throw you off completely. “Jfc y/n, I’m so sorry…..” *attempts to make it better with a giant hug*

D.O: I doubt he would’ve been able to fall asleep in the first place, since the only thing he’d be focused on was you. Every couple minutes he’d ask if you were okay or needed anything, and smiled when you just shook your head and kissed him. He’ll be in awe of how happy and stress-free you made him feel, just with a simple look.

Kai: I feel like he’d be a messy sleeper, and at some point you’d be entangled with each other on the couch or bed. He’d giggle at how comfortable it felt, though, and would only wrap himself even further around you. He won’t be able to help himself from wanting to wake you up so that you could see the humor in the situation, but laughs when you shush him.

Sehun: flushed cheeks, dry throat, sweaty palms, heart beating fast….he’s stressed HELLA. He doesn’t even know why though, esp if you’ve been together for a long time, but it just feels really special and intimate to be so close to you like that. He’ll try to unwrap himself from you, but fails completely when you finally stop him and wrap his arms arms around you again.

“We’re going to be late for the meal.”

“We’re not going to be late babe.” Nursey says, buttoning up his shirt. “We’ll be on time.”

“On time? Derek, it starts in forty minutes and we’re not even ready to go yet!” Dex argues, shrugging on his jacket.

“We’ll make it Will.” Nursey says. He stops tying his shirt and walks over to his boyfriend “Don’t worry.” he adds, before pressing a small kiss to his nose. Dex laughs, before becoming serious again.

“Ok come on, we can’t be late.”

“We won’t be.” Nursey repeats, pulling on his jacket. “See, I’m ready to go!”

“Ok I’m almost ready to go- Where’s my tie?” Dex asks suddenly looking frantically around him.

“You don’t need a tie babe.” Nursey says “You look great.”

“I want a tie. My dad loaned me this one, he’ll expect to see me wearing it in photos. And I can’t find it and we’re going to be late, and we’re going to miss Ransom and Holster and Lardo’s last team dinner, and Bitty and Ollie and Wicks’ second last team dinner and mine and yours and Chowder’s third last team dinner and-”

“Woah Will, breath.” Nursey says calmly. He places his hands on Dex’s shoulders, and waits until his boyfriend looks at him. “We’re not going to miss the team dinner. If we’re a little late - which we won’t be - they’ll wait for us. Okay?”

After a moment, Dex nods. “Okay.”

“So what colour is this tie?” Nursey asks.

“Navy? Kind of the same colour as your jacket.” Dex says “I had it when I came over to your dorm, I’m sure of it, but I don’t know what happened it-”

“Wear mine.” Nursey says. He’s already loosening the tie around his neck, and pulling it off as he speaks.

“But…I can’t…what tie will you wear?” Dex ask.

“None. I hate ties anyway.” Nursey admits “They always feel too tight around my neck. Tie-ght, if you will.” he laughs, and Dex groans, but can’t hide his smile.

“If you’re sure…” Dex says, and Nursey starts tying the tie on him.

“Of course I’m sure.” Nursey says. He gives Dex a quick kiss before pulling away grinning. “Now come on, or you’ll make us late for the meal.” he says laughing.

“I’ll make us late?! You’re the one who was still in bed half an hour ago!” Dex argues back, laughing as well, as they leave for the meal.

He often told you stories from Loki’s and his childhood, which often made you smile. You took a sip of your wine when you heard the door to your room shut loudly and your husband entered. “You seem to have plenty of fun when I’m not around!” Loki said, and you could clearly hear the anger in his voice.“Brother, I’ve only talked with Lady Y/N” Loki sniffed contemptuously and you turned to the blonde.“Thank you for your time, Thor, please leave us alone?” He nodded and left the room, as you heard the door closed again, you turned to your God!

The Short and Sweet Yoga Sequence You Can Do Every Morning

Regardless of how I slept the night before or what’s on my agenda for the day, I always feel more relaxed and focused after even a handful of minutes on my mat. Start your day out on a centered and strong note with this short yoga sequence that energizes your body and brain. Wake up five minutes earlier in the morning, and reap the benefits all day long.

Child’s Pose

Even after a good night’s rest, you might be surprised how shallow or hurried it feels first thing in the morning as you run through your checklists for the day. Draw your arms out long in front of you, and let your forehead rest on the floor for Child’s Pose.

Kneel on your mat with your knees hips-width distance apart and your big toes touching behind you. Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, lay your torso over your thighs. Try to lengthen your neck and spine by drawing your ribs away from your tailbone and the crown of your head away from your shoulders.
Rest your arms beside your legs, with palms facing up, or try extending your arms out in front of you.
Stay here for 10 long breaths.

Cat-Cow Pose

Warming up your spine with a round of Cat Pose to Cow Pose will loosen up tightness in your upper body and relieve tension in your neck from how you slept. Pay special attention to aligning each movement with each breath to get the most out of this effective asana.

Begin with your hands and knees on the floor. Make sure your knees are under your hips and your wrists are under your shoulders. Begin in a neutral spine position, with your back flat and your abs engaged. Take a big, deep inhale.
On the exhale, round your spine up toward the ceiling, and imagine you’re pulling your belly button up toward your spine, really engaging your abs. Tuck your chin toward your chest, and let your neck release. This is your cat-like shape.
On your inhale, arch your back, let your belly relax, and go loose. Lift your head and tailbone up toward the sky — without putting any unnecessary pressure on your neck. This is the Cow portion of the pose.
Continue flowing back and forth from Cat Pose to Cow Pose, and connect your breath to each movement — inhale for Cow Pose, and exhale on Cat Pose.
Repeat for 10 rounds.

Downward Facing Dog

Activate your muscles, release stress in your legs and neck, and start building internal heat in Downward Facing Dog. Ten breaths might seem like a long time — but don’t bail! This pose will get the blood pumping through your whole body.

From Child’s Pose, press back on your hands, and come into a tabletop position on your hands and knees. Your wrists should be underneath your shoulders, and your knees should be underneath your hips.
Inhale as you tuck your toes under your heels. Then exhale to lift your hips, coming into an upside-down V shape called Downward Facing Dog.
Spread your fingers wide, and create a straight line between your middle fingers and elbows. Work on straightening your legs and lowering your heels toward the ground. Relax your head between your arms, and direct your gaze through your legs or up toward your belly button.
Hold for 10 breaths.

Standing Forward Bend

Standing Forward Bend is another pose that looks like it’s all relaxation, but you will feel a deep and intense stretch in your hamstrings and upper back. While the full expression of the pose calls for straight legs, if that feels like too much on your body, give a little bend to your knees to create more space. Remember to breathe deep, and come up slowly.

From Downward Facing Dog, keep your hands on the mat, and slowly step one foot at a time to the top of your mat so your feet meet your hands. Inhale with a flat back, and gaze slightly forward.
As you exhale, engage your abs to fold forward with a straight back. Tuck your chin in toward your chest, relax your shoulders, and extend the crown of your head toward the floor to create a long spine. Shift your weight forward onto your toes, trying to straighten the legs as much as possible. If this feels uncomfortable, allow your knees to have a little bend so you can focus on releasing your back.
Place your hands on the ground, fingertips lining up with your toes.
Hold here for 10 breaths.
Slowly roll up one vertebrae at a time, and step back to Downward Facing Dog.

Warrior 1

Open up tight hips while strengthening your lower body in Warrior 1. Do your best to turn and square your hips toward the front of the room while straightening and engaging your back leg in Warrior 1. These tips will help your body get the most of the stretch, and you’ll be able to stay comfortable in this pose for the full five breaths without readjusting.

From Downward Facing Dog, step your right foot forward between your hands. Turn your left heel in, press into your feet, and lift your torso up.
Lift your arms up, and press your palms together. Draw your shoulder blades down toward your hips, and gaze up at your hands.
Stay here for five breaths. Then come back to Downward Facing Dog, and step your left foot forward to do Warrior 1 on the other side.

Warrior 3

Warrior 3 is the final pose of this short sequence that will fire up your core and challenge your balance. Once you complete this pose on either side, you can look forward to a calmer commute and more productive morning.

From Downward Facing Dog, step your right foot forward for a quick Warrior 1 Pose. On your exhale, lower your torso and lift your left leg, bringing your body parallel with the ground. Extend your hands out in front of you, pressing your palms together firmly.
Press your hands together in a prayer, or extend your arms forward together, separating your arms so they’re shoulder-width apart. If extending your arms creates pain or pressure in your lower back, then bring your hands to your hips.
Hold this position for five deep breaths, then lower your left leg returning to Warrior 1, step back to Downward Facing Dog, and step your left foot forward for Warrior 3 on the other side, then back to Downward Facing Dog.
From Downward Facing Dog, drop your knees to the mat, take a few breaths in Child’s Pose, and move on with your day!

Aging Jedi

As most athletes will tell you, lots of high impact activity (running, contact sports, gymnastics) can break your body down fast.  Stress fractures, pulled muscles, broken bones, etc.  It all adds up. 

And yes, medical care in the GFFA is probably better than here on earth.  And yes, the Jedi can probably use the Force to help with the feeling of tight muscles, and your joints aching, and all that.

Still.  You can’t tell me that after a life time of training in lightsaber combat, plus all the training they probably need to do to have the muscles to fight for long periods of time, plus all the running and jumping Jedi do, that Jedi don’t have problems with joint pain as they get older.

Some are probably lucky enough they don’t, but I’m willing to bet that a lot do.  They can push it off into the Force, and advanced medicine and Force healing probably means it takes longer than it does for most Earth humans (mid thirties for lots of athletes, at the latest).

But I’m willing to bet that by their forties at the latest, a lot of human Jedi start to feel a bit… creaky… when they’re not relying on the Force.  Knees and ankles complaining at a jump they could make without pain just a year before, having to ice down an elbow after teaching the new Padawan a certain block, things like that.  Human bodies, at least, just start to break down after a while.

This was not at all inspired by the fact that my knee is protesting a simple two mile run, one I’ve done many times before.  Absolutely not inspired by it.
