Hypericum fasciculatum is in the family Hypericaceae. Commonly known as sandweed, it is native to the southern United States from Louisiana to North Carolina. Sandweed is an evergreen shrub found in wetland habitats with continuously wet soils. The small, linear leaves are arranged in fascicles along the stem with the yellow flowers developing at the terminal nodes. Sandweed can grow up to 5 feet tall and flowers between spring and late fall.
