Meare, Somerset by Somerset Bloke Via Flickr: The parish Church of St Mary was formerly in the keeping of Glastonbury Abbey, and dates from 1323. It was built for Abbot Adam of Sodbury, and is a Grade I listed building.
I was hoping there were a few puddles left over from the rain so I could capture the marshy landscape but I had no luck. I was surprised to see that most of the fields on Sauvie were completely dry. After driving around the island for a while I spotted this small farm road that led off into the grass, so I pulled over to take a look. Walking down the road a bit, I stopped to take in the scene, wondering how difficult it would be to find a place out here to live, quiet and away from the busy city, but still close enough to enjoy Portland. → Peter Schweitzer
