farewell-to-cristina

Sometimes the future changes quickly and completely. And we’re left only with the choice of what to do next. We can choose to be afraid of it, to stand there trembling, not moving, assuming the worst that can happen. Or we step forward into the unknown and assume it will be brilliant.
—  Dr. Cristina Yang (Grey’s Anatomy, 2014)
Whenever we think we know the future, even for a second, it changes. Sometimes the future changes quickly and completely, and we’re left only with a choice of what to do next. We can choose to be afraid of it, to stand there trembling, not moving, assuming the worst that can happen, or we step forward into the unknown and assume it will be brilliant.

That was honestly, 110% the best ending I could have ever asked for between Burke and Cristina. It was true to the characters, it showed that he still loved her in the only way he could ever show her: by recognizing who she was, honoring what she had become, and giving her exactly what she needed to be the badass heart surgeon that she is.

You will never be able to convince me that anybody can love Cristina Yang like Preston Burke does. Ever.
