Bill supposedly dying in today’s episode reminded me of Clara’s fate in Face the Raven.
It was such a good twist to see Clara die in the most unexpected moment. This is Doctor Who, no one expects a companion to die in the middle of the season. Face the Raven was just a “monster of the day” episode and usually the Plot Armor is heavy in them.
Her death was great, it was the greatest plot twist, it left me speechless, it was dark and tragic and great.
But of course, Moffat HAD to bring her back, and essentially make the season finale into a Clara Episode™
It cheapened everything about her death, making it lose all meaning and impact. Typical.
The plot armor bothers me, because where is the fun when you know the main characters will survive. This is why I love Game of Thrones: no one is safe there, you can actually worry about their safety.
My point is, Steven Moffat isn’t capable of writing actual dark scenes without pulling a Deus Ex Machina and making everything happy again. So, don’t despair. I’m pretty sure Bill will be saved. Even the last shot from the episode suggested that the process is reversible.

*** (NOTE - THE SONG LYRICS HAVE SPOILERS.) ***
I was fortunate enough to get involved really early in the process for this musical number, and I wrote the first pass of the song to the episode’s black-and-white storyboards. @arythusa and @amelia-lorenz, who boarded this two-parter and wrote all the lyrics to the songs, are endless fountains of creativity.
Lessons learned about Patrick Stump: 1) he is very, very funny; 2) he is a freaking pro in the studio. Before we recorded each chunk of the song, he would listen to my temp vocal and then slowly pace around the live room and work everything out in his head, make a few tweaks so that the melody would best suit his voice, run those changes by us, and then we’d be off.
What would Connor's laugh sound like? *Can* he laugh???
I MEAN he’s definitely capable of laughing just as much as anyone else is, i just dont think he does it often. the closest he gets is probs a snort/scoff, considering even smiling is rare for him. the kid doesnt really have much to laugh about
i feel like when he does laugh its pretty soft? he’s not a loud laugher, its probs fairly quiet and airy, maybe a little melodic, but for the most part can be easily unheard. he doesnt laugh hard but when he does i imagine hes rly a sight to behold
