Reading online comments and critiques of Bill Nye’s new show, and it’s…excruciating. Turns out, no surprise, Reddit and 4chan hate it, because it’s ‘neomarxist liberal propaganda’ which basically means…it’s science.

What’s particularly difficult to bear is the number of people saying that they agree with Bill’s message, but hate that he didn’t give the ‘other side’ a chance to explain why they feel that way. They basically suggest that Nye failed to use this an opportunity to help people see a different approach and maybe change some minds.

Except that the it doesn’t work that way, you can’t offer up a mountain of evidence to a climate change denier, or an anti-vaxxer…I mean you can, but they can come back with a reddit comment about how when such-and-such research scientist was doing lab work for Stalin, they were studying the blade and are thus absolutely correct. Let alone that the outcome of these kinds of debates is expected to be that ‘facts’ trump all of these disagreements, that clearly the anti-vaxxer and climate denier only needed to be told about a research paper and they’d come around. Even if they don’t the expectation is for what? Nye and everyone to say ‘Dang, well, that is a great opinion and you deserve respect for having it…even if it doesn’t work with mine and which may actually kill people if allowed to prosper.’

God damned idjits.

A working concept for Prohibition Andromeda Scott.

He’s a police cop in the 20′s but he’s just as bad about drinking as everyone else is.

my group for my social media course final is complete hell. nobody (including me, to be honest) did anything on the project, so when we presented it we had nothing to show. the prof failed us but is giving us a second chance, if we can shape up the project by the end of the week she’ll reconsider the grade. great, right? except it’s literally just me and one other member doing everything. we have four people in our group and half of them have gone completely radio silent. we exchange emails back and forth to communicate but there is never any response from those two, so i have no idea if theyre doing anything, but my gut tells me they arent, because when they participate the projects web insights would respond, but there’s been nothing but what ive done reflected there. so its like lol! ugh. theyre going to screw me over.
A note from the Indivisible Team
A note for all of us who feel defeated after Sessions from the Indivisible Team: This is the long game.

A note for all of us who feel defeated after Sessions from the Indivisible Team: This is the long game. We are going to lose a lot. We are going to get good at losing. We are going to lose cabinet votes for terrible nominees. We are going to lose bills that are offensive and appalling. But while we are losing, something else is going to happen. We are going to keep raising our voices and slowly our representatives are going to start listening to us. We’ve seen it happen.

It won’t happen because of next week’s call to action. It’ll happen over months, where you keep showing up, regularly. Then, we are going to start winning. It’ll sneak up on us. We won’t understand why we are winning. But it starts with losing in a particular way- where we raise our voices and call it out when we aren’t listened to, where we get close but not quite there.

The first 100 days of a President’s term are the honeymoon period, the moment when he’s most likely to get his agenda enacted. Trump is spending his first 100 days mired in controversy, scandal, and backbiting - and that’s because you haven’t for a moment let anyone in Washington forget just how unpopular he is.

Every time we change the narrative, every time we delay, every time there’s a newspaper story about a member of Congress avoiding his or her constituents, that’s a win. And it matters.

You have already made history. You’ve delayed the confirmation of Trump’s cabinet picks longer than any time in recent history. You stopped the gutting on the congressional ethics office. You’ve made Republicans so nervous about the repeal of the Affordable Care Act that it’s been pushed further and further down the road. You caused an uproar of historic proportions over Trump’s Muslim ban and saved lives and reunited families in the process. You’ve inspired people who have never before taken action to make their voices heard and learn how to do things like check how their members of Congress voted and call them out for it.

We’ll never even know about some of the victories - because those will be the fights that this Administration considered starting and then realized it couldn’t win.

We’re in this together. Every visit. Every call. Every loss. Every win. That’s just what friends do. #StandIndivisible

In solidarity,

The Indivisible Team

But can we just talk about ep3 for a minute? And about poor baby Jonghyun?
Not to make anyone sad but, it broke me.

When he saw Minhyun coming in through that door and he just went on and thought ‘Why are you here? Get out.’
He trusts them to do well, even though, it’s not their fault, they are tired and frankly, I hope they don’t give up fighting. Even if MNET is evil, even if the editing makes you like this, don’t give up. We can see the good in you. So others will too.

When they had to pick the leader for Minhyun’s team, and everyone choose Jonghyun, but you could see it in his eyes, he didn’t want to be a leader.

Jonghyun said that he’s afraid to be a leader, because he doesn’t want to fail them, to let them down, like he did with NU'EST and I can’t really cope with that. He didn’t fail NU'EST, he didn’t broke their promise, they are a team. A leader shouldn’t carry all the hardships and all the blame on his shoulders, a leader doesn’t mean it’s all on you. You can ask for help, you can rely on others. You don’t have to apologise to Minki and the others for going up to B Class. They will do better, they will follow you.

This child blames himself for everything and apologises for things he didn’t do or shouldn’t apologise for.

But then Minhyun went on and said, 'I believe in Jonghyun.’ and I felt like crying. Jonghyun shouldn’t carry the burden alone, and yet he does it.

Someone please stop this child, please protect him. Because I can’t stand watching Jonghyun being in pain anymore. I can’t stand watching Minki cry. I can’t stand looking at Minhyun being so tired and I can’t stand looking at Dongho how he almost lost all hope.
