Movie of the Day: 5/17/17
“Pulp Fiction (1994)
Director: Quentin Tarantino
At last we have arrived, on a random Wednesday, to my favorite film of all time from my favorite director of all time. I can ramble for days about how Pulp Fiction is the best film of the 90s and one of the top five best of all times but I’ll keep it short and sweet. This film completely changed the film game with a creative narrative, an interesting and original plot and phenomenal acting and directing. The whole film, which focuses on a mob deal gone wrong, is told out of order but is pieced along as the film progresses. While so much of the plot is missing and open ended, the film succeeds by commenting on various themes of fate and destiny. This is one of the most quotable films ever made thanks to a wonderfully penned script by Tarantino and his careful eye for detail make it his best film ever. Lastly, the acting by Samuel L Jackson and John Travolta is great and unfortunately gets overlooked. How this masterpiece didn’t win Best Picture is beyond me because it’s by far the most memorable film of the 90’s and my favorite film of all time.
I may or may not have a meeting with Quentin Tarantino next week to talk about me playing Charles Manson in his upcoming project.
