Crise agricole: pour Valls, la Commission fait "trop peu ou trop tard"

Manuel Valls a taclé lundi la Commission européenne et sa prise en charge de la crise agricole. Pour le Premier ministre, Bruxelles fait “trop peu ou trop tard”. “Nous avons débloqué des mesures d'urgence depuis le début de la crise, mais la crise est aussi européenne”, a rappelé le chef du gouvernement. Il a ensuite demandé à la Commission d’“activer les pouvoirs dont elle dispose”.

“La Commission est très consciente de la situation pas seulement en France, mais dans plusieurs Etats membres, plusieurs secteurs agricoles”, a réagi un porte-parole de l'institution. “Un paquet d'urgence a été approuvé à la fin de l'année passée, d'un demi-milliard d'euros, dont une enveloppe de 420 millions d'euros à distribuer dans les Etats-membres. C'est à eux de faire usage de ce montant”, a affirmé ce dernier. Par ailleurs, ce représentant de la commission a souligné l'existence d'autres mesures, certaines très ciblées pour les secteurs du lait et de l'élevage. 

L'embargo russe en question

Manuel Valls a rappelé qu'il devait rencontrer samedi le Premier ministre russe Dmitri Medvedev. “J'évoquerai avec lui la levée progressive de l'embargo sur la viande porcine”, a précisé le Premier ministre après avoir rencontré des représentants de la grande distribution.

Le chef du gouvernement s'est contenté d'expliquer avoir demandé à ce secteur “ne pas anticiper de baisse des cours agricoles dans les négociations commerciales en cours avec leurs fournisseurs”. “La responsabilité de la grande distribution, c'est évidemment dans un contexte qui est déjà déflationniste de ne pas s'engager dans des négociations commerciales qui viendraient aggraver la situation, au contraire”, a déclaré pour sa part le ministre de l'Agriculture Stéphane Le Foll.

Microsoft, GoPro And 8 More Stocks To Watch Over The Weekend

Shares of GoPro Inc (NASDAQ: GPRO) were trading up more than 5.7 percent in Friday’s after-hours session, after Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) announced it inked a patent licensing deal with the wearable cameras company. While terms of the deal were not disclosed, MarketWatch reported that the agreement was for “certain file storage and other system technologies.”

Microsoft Technology Licensing LLC President Nick Psyhogeos explained in a statement that the company’s “licensing of personal wearable technologies is seeing strong demand as we partner with companies from all industries to optimize solutions for their customers around the globe.”

Interestingly, a Google search of the item shows the story was out “9 Hours Ago.” Apparently, Microsoft announced the agreement on its page in the morning, but few media outlets and investors picked up on the news until after the market closed.

Ubiquiti Networks Inc (NASDAQ: UBNT) was up more than 9 percent after the market closed. The spike seemed like a continuation of the 6 percent gain seen during the day, driven by an earnings and revenue beat. The high performance networking technology developer posted earnings of $0.58 per share on revenue of $161.87 million, beating the Street’s consensus of $0.51 per share and $155.33 million.

Other stocks rising in Friday’s after-hours included:

  • Inphi Corporation (NYSE: IPHI), up almost 7 percent
  • Red Hat Inc (NYSE: RHT), up more than 5.6 percent
  • CBRE Group Inc (NYSE: CBG), up 5.2 percent
  • ChannelAdvisor Corp (NYSE: ECOM), up 4.82 percent
  • Century Aluminum Co (NASDAQ: CENX),up 3.91 percent
  • Medivation Inc (NASDAQ: MDVN), up 3.24 percent
