No matter how presentable and well you look or how your life seems to others (and yourself), if you’re harboring bitterness, insecurity, and deceit, you’re a prisoner locked up by your own evil. The heart is desperately wicked so give it to One who can bring it to life. Trust the Lord Jesus, let go of your choice of prison and let God guide you with your heart.
“Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. (Ezekiel 36:26 NASB)
Okay so I know Narnia is just filled with symbols and metaphors and “allegories” for Christianity, but I just realized one I hadn’t thought of before and I’m ecstatic.
Ezekiel 36:26: “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”
I was just thinking of this verse, when I realized the fulfillment of it by Aslan within Narnia… The White Witch turns the Narnians into stone, but Aslan’s breath (and only his breath, as far as we’ve seen) can heal them and make them flesh again. JUST LIKE ASLAN TURNS THE CREATURES OF STONE BACK INTO LIVING BEINGS, JESUS INTENDS TO TAKE OUR HARDENED HEARTS AND MAKE THEM FLESH AGAIN. I JUST THINK THATS SO COOL.
“A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.”
I shall pour clean water over you and you will be cleansed; I shall cleanse you of all your defilement and all your idols. I shall give you a new heart, and put a new spirit in you; I shall remove the heart of stone from your bodies and give you a heart of flesh instead. I shall put my spirit in you, and make you keep my laws and sincerely respect my observances.
We forget we are no longer powerless, depraved, wretched, hopeless people: because we’re a chosen nation, made holy, a royal priesthood, a blameless bride of Christ, given a living hope. We forget the True Story of the World: that our Creator has broken into our reality to reconcile us back to who we were meant to be.
You don’t have to waste another second believing you are your past or what’s been done to you; you’re not your weight, wealth, or intellect; you’re not what other people say about you or even how you view yourself.
Believe the New Narrative over your life. Believe on Christ.
For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land. I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow My decrees and be careful to keep My laws. Then you will live in the land I gave your ancestors; you will be My people, and I will be your God.

Scripture: John 3:1-21
What I learnt:
“Holy Spirit” is from the same greek word as “wind.” Jesus is explaining to Nicodemus that the Holy Spirit is as the wind, powerful and persuasive.
Jesus came because of God’s love. Love starts as an attitude that shows itself in actions. It will be manifested in giving. So we see that God loves us so much He gives the world Himself.
To be saved one must be born again, ‘born of water and the spirit.’ (vv5) Water cleanses and provides a fresh start, and the spirit empowers. Jesus is referring to Ezekiel 36:25-27 where God says, “I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put My Spirit in you and move you to follow My decrees and be careful to keep My laws.”
Father, may I follow where the Holy Spirit guides me this year according to You word. May I come to see Your great love poured out upon the earth even more, so that I can worship You in spirit and in truth. Thank You that You have washed me clean and created in me a new heart and new spirit. Give me a heart of giving and a heart of love for others this year. Amen
