Eyeshadow Technique For Hooded Eyes

Hooded eyes can be a tricky subject when it comes to makeup, but it doesn’t have to be! With just one simple sweep this technique can give your eyes lift, and definition whilst making them appear more elongated.

Step 1. After prepping the eyelids and tightlining the eyes sweep a shimmery, pigmented shade over the eyelid

Step 2. With your eyes open work a matte dark brown shade through the crease and blend

Step 3. Taking a darker shade than the one you originally used, hold the brush at the outer corner of the eye

Step 4. Gently drag the brush upwards towards your eyebrow to create a winged shape

Step 5. Blend out the eyeshadow following that same shape

Step 6. Take the same matte dark brown along the lower lash line

Step 7. Smudge a dark, black eyeshadow along the upper lash line as an eyeliner

Step 8. Smudge that same dark black shade along the lower lash line

Step 9. All that blending can take away the first shade you apply so reapply it to the center of the eyelid

Step 10. Curl your lashes and apply mascara to both top and bottom lashes.

Dear Auntie Jilli, I was wondering what hair dye you use? It always seems to be beautifully bright and doesn't really fade when we get to see your wonderful face! (Is it an Eldergoth Cabal secret? Fab hair only for the Chosen Few? 👿)

Aww, thank you! I think part of the brightness is due to the grey/white strands really grabbing and holding my dye.

I use a 50/50 mix of Manic Panic “Vampire Red” and Special Effects “Burgundy Wine”. I apply it, put a plastic cap on my head, and leave it on for about 3 hours. Then I rinse (rinse, rinse, and rinse some more) with cool water, then do one final rinse with cool water mixed with a bit of apple cider vinegar.

I add about 1-2 teaspoons of my dye mix to my shampoo and conditioner, so I’m refreshing the color when I wash my hair. (Also, I only wash my hair once a week.) (Yes, I’m one of those people. But I don’t actually use a lot of hair products, so I don’t have to worry about product buildup.)

Aaaaand I made myself some custom dry shampoo!

  •  1/2 cup of arrowroot powder (tho’ you can use cornstarch).
  • A few drops of BPAL Blood Popsicle. (Because of course I want my hair to smell like Blood Popsicle).
  • A bunch of burgundy, red, and bright pink eye shadow pigments that were not quite the shade I wanted for makeup. (And a dash of pink glitter. Because why not?)

I mixed all of that together in a ziplock bag, then decanted it into an empty jar. I apply it to my roots with a blush brush, then vigorously brush my hair. The burgundy/pink color of my custom dry shampoo means I don’t get that weird ashy-powdery look that regular dry shampoos leave on wacky-colored hair. And leaves the tiniest trace of glitter, which is important, dammit.

s/o to all the girls with hairy tummies, hairy arms, hairy knuckles, bushy eyebrows, deep set under-eye circles, and hyper-pigmentation of their skin. s/o to girls with “man-hands,” “masculine-framed bodies,” brown eyed, dark skinned, acne scarred bodies, and stretch-mark scarred bodies.

i hope that you love yourself as much as i love you and that someday you meet people who love you as much as you love yourself.

appreciation post for people with brown eyes

your eyes are the hot cocoa on a cold winter morning, the chocolate powder you mix into a birthday cake. your eyes reflect the pigment of caramel, chestnuts, walnuts, and brave stallions riding into war. your eyes are the color of mahogany wood, comforting and home, and the mountains on a dewy morning. your eyes are like the warm embrace of a teddy bear after a night of bad dreams. your eyes are as beautiful as anyone else’s and just because they’re a bit darker doesn’t mean they aren’t absolutely stunning.

Niece (2): Tom x Black Reader

Part 2 of Niece. Reader’s 5 year old niece stays with her and Tom. Tom takes to her and is wrapped around her little finger.

You woke up and expected two strong arms to be wrapped around you, but instead you rolled over to an empty space. “Tom?” You paused and heard a high-pitched giggle. You smiled and got out of bed. You walked in the living room and screamed, “THOMAS!” His head popped out from the pillow fort, “Yes love?”

“Don’t love me! This living room is a mess!”, “Calm down babe. Jade wanted to make a pillow fort!” He smiled. “Auntie!” Your niece ran to you and gave you a hug, “Do you like it? Uncle T made it so you can live in it too!” She smiled. “What happened to you tooth?” You bent down and saw she had a big gap. “Her tooth was loose so she woke me up! I promised her if she didn’t cry when I pulled it out, we could make the fort and go out for pizza today.” Tom shrugged. Your heart melted at how amazing he was with her. “I guess I can’t be mad at that. So, where is your tooth?”

Jimin Fan Fic

It was late in the evening when I got a text from my classmate Jimin. He was an odd one id have to say but maybe it was because we had just started talking to each other. I’m sure he’ll open up soon but I’ll admit he is gorgeous and I may have thought of him pressing me against the wall a few times during class and don’t even get me started with his music.
