There’s so much to thank this movie for and so much that it’s done, I can only begin to scratch the surface of what Pacific Rim means to me.
Thank you to the director, who fostered and nourished this brainchild into the movie it became. Thank you to the artists, the craftsmen, and the crews who helped practicality blend with the magic of digital effects. Thank you to the writers who penned and helped create wonderful, memorable characters and the simple, yet effective story given to us. Thank you to all the actors who brought those characters to life: from the pilots who climbed into an old Mark-3 to save the world, to the dysfunctional father and son, to the brothers united as three, and to the Russians who gave us a wordless story of the truest kind of love.
But most of all, thank you, Pacific Rim, for giving us hope that we could believe in each other. That somehow, despite all of the awful things that happen in this world, in our time of crisis the planet could come together and make something great.

Another Pacific Rim commission: finish!!
Modeled after the soviet habit of creating posters and propaganda for annual anniversaries, this poster celebrates the five-year anniversary of the Kaidanovsky’s undefeated patrol along the Siberian coastline. The center text reads “Onward, brave Kaidanovskys!” Below translates as “5 years undefeated.” The side texts reads “Protecting not only Russia, but the entire earth!” and “They’re doing their part; are you doing yours?” with the bottom reading “Enlist in the PPDC to support the cause!” The client was convinced that the Russian Federation would use as much propaganda as possible to keep the spirit of the Jaeger program alive, and this poster idolizes their soldiers as heroes who have succeeded where Russia’s other jaegers had fallen. In Russia, the jaeger pilots are not celebrities. They are soldiers and idealistic heroes.
