experimental drawing techniques

“You are here. This is your moment….. What do you have? You have pain. You have everything… What do you have? You have nothing. Everything is right, or everything is wrong. It’s disappointing, it’s confusing. This is life. What can we do?”           -excerpt from the movie “Gia.”

Portrait of Gia Carangi, done with expressive pen scribble technique. Rapid, aggressive, and repetitive movements of the pen creates a dynamic expression of the image. It is an experimental drawing technique ive been practicing since last year, quite similar to crosshatching, only using non-linear lines.

“Everything.” Ballpoint pen on Watercolor Paper. 18x24″. 2015.
