exhausted but worth it

No matter how much you miss a toxic person, please don’t ever contact them again.. please. Don’t. It’s not worth it, you will be sad again regardless of the many times they told u it wouldn’t be that way anymore. You deserve nothing but happiness and it is not them.. You don’t ever need to feel drained and exhausted over a person

Real love will find u
Actual good first-time college student advice:
  • Wear jeans/pants that “breathe” and bring a sweater, even if it’s scorching hot out, until you know which building blasts the AC to 60 degrees F and which feels like a sauna
  • Backpacks with thick straps are your friend!  Messenger bags are cool and all but if you’re commuting with a lot of stuff, symmetrically styled backpacks are better for your back
  • You are your own person and you can walk out whenever you need to or want to, so long as you’re not disrupting the class.  Meaning you can go to the bathroom without permission, take a breather if you’re anxious, answer an important phone call, etc.
  • If you don’t like the class on the first day, if you can- DROP THAT CLASS AND TAKE ANOTHER ONE!  It’ll only get worse from there!
  • If you can, take a class outside your major; it’s a good break from your expected studies.
  • You are in charge of your schedule.  Your adviser and guidance counselor is there to ‘advise and guide’ but if you don’t like certain classes and you can substitute for others, that’s your choice.
  • Consequently, if you are changing anything drastic in your plan, talk with your adviser and instructors.
  • Pay attention to your credit hours and grades.  Never leave this to the last week of school, you will be sorry and stressed beyond belief!
  • Unless it’s a lab book or otherwise specified, go to the class for a week or so before buying an expensive textbook.  Some classes, while having it on their required list, do not actually use the textbook a whole lot and you might find some of it scanned online.  Rent if you can or buy used online (schools actually don’t give discounts).  Use your best judgement on what you think you need.
  • Tell the people who go up to you selling or advertising things you are not interested in that you are in a rush to class and don’t have time to listen to them.  It’s less rude and they’ll leave you alone.
  • The smaller the class, the better it is to have some sort of acquaintanceship with a couple classmates.  They might save your ass if you are absent one day or need to study.  And talking with them makes the time go by faster without it being so insufferable.
  • You don’t need to join a club or sport, but internships are cool and useful!
  • If you can afford it, take a day off once or twice each semester if you’re too exhausted.  Just be aware of what you missed and if it was worth missing!
  • Your health is the most important, this goes for mental health too!!  Note: College-age/upper teens is when mental disorders like depression and anxiety are most commonly diagnosed.  Most schools have therapy services, especially during exam time.  Look into it if you need to!
  • Communicate with your professor if you are having trouble with something.  Anything.
  • Eat and stay hydrated.  Bring a water bottle and snack to class.
  • All-nighters will happen but never go over 36 hours without sleep.
  • It’s going to be hard and there will be times you might think about giving up.  This WILL happen.  You just have to make sure what you’re doing isn’t making you absolutely miserable and/or there is something rewarding and positive to look forward to at the end!

[Disclaimer: this is a U.S. version and written based on my experiences; it’s important to keep these points in mind, but know that nothing is ever 100% accurate as each university and college runs differently to some degree.  The intention of this post is to make aware of the big potential circumstances one might run into and what to do.  It’s by no means a complete list and it’s important to get advice from multiple sources as well!  Thanks for reading and I hoped I helped at least a few people!  c:]

I don’t know how to be good enough for you. And I’m sick of trying.
—  🖤
Imagine being in a relationship with Jensen for years and getting married in secret and him revealing it in an interview.

“Well, I really feel like I need to give you great congratulations for the movie once more. Nobody expected it to be such a blockbuster but we were pleasantly surprised, I’m sure it must have been for you too seeing as- it’s the first time you act on a movie together, am I right?” the interviewer asked and you nodded your head, glancing at your costar and… husband.

“Yeah, well I- I’ve been out of the big screen for some time now because I- because of Supernatural, and I love don’t get me wrong. It was my choice because I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world, even if sometimes the shooting is exhausting it’s all worth it.” Jensen gave her a charming grin.

“I’ll agree, they’ve got like the best crew I’ve ever met. Everything works out so well and- and that’s even more surprising seeing how much they goof around I- at times I wonder how they get anything done there!” you laughed and Jensen chuckled, nodding his head with a shy smile.

“We’re all a bunch of kids, I’ll admit.” he mumbled as you rubbed his shoulder.

“But they really have the best of the best there. From director, writers, crew to cast, I think that’s what has made the show so successful so I don’t blame Jensen or anyone if they’d never want to leave that! They are really a family and- and you can feel that you know?” you made hand motions “You feel it from the first day and you feel so welcomed you just could as well stay there forever!”

“Speaking of which, though-” the interviewer spoke up with a smile “-Congratulations (Y/n)! I learned that you have been cast to play a surprise character in the show this upcoming season, is it right?”

“Uh yeah, yeah I have! It was amazing, the soonest I found out they wanted someone for a role I just went for it. I didn’t care what it was as long as I could be there even for one effin episode, it will be more than that yeah but still.” you nodded your head.

“Yeah, and I secretly believe that she was just cast to be there to take care of us. I mean “Two oscars?”-” he made a deep voice and a funny face “Screw that, she can keep Jensen and Jared under control; you’re hired!” he slammed his hand on the chair and you giggled as he laughed along with the interviewer.

“I can almost believe that to be honest.” she laughed “But to be honest, and just because we saw how people reacted to the news: Do you not think it has to do with the chemistry you two seemed to have in the movie? And-” she raised a finger “-Before you answer, let me tell you that 9 out of 10 critics pointed out how great your acting together was, as it’s obviously well known. The fans have not stopped shipping you like crazy after this movie, asking for as much as they can get of the two of you together in a screen, big or small.”

Jensen had a sly smirk on his face and you kicked his foot slightly, trying to keep a serious face on “Well-” he cleared his throat, getting a little serious himself, or at least trying to “-I mean look at her!” he showed you off with both his hands “How can someone not have chemistry with this woman?”

You giggled shaking your head with a blush “J!”

“We- we just clicked, from the first moment; I think that was it.” he said with a fond smile and you knew that even if she thought the first day of shooting you could understand he met that first time about ten years ago in a coffee shop “There was a connection, there was defintiely understanding, an unspoken agreement and-”

“Lots of spilled coffee.” you added with a giggle and he laughed next to you.

“Lots of spilled coffee too, yeah.” he had a boyish grin on his face.

“There was chemistry, yeah.” you spoke more softly “Maybe we didn’t see it from the first moment, but it was there. We don’t act like any other couple- screen couple I mean.” you hurried to add “You’d really be surprised to see us communicate, maybe freak out a little bit too.” you chuckled and Jensen did the same “But we- we work, that’s what we know and we’re glad that people could see it as well and that it helped the movie so much; in being believable and true I mean.”

“It really came out of nowhere for some, me including let me tell you. I might be fangirling a little now, but your ship is a really big thing and I know this Halloween what I am going to dress up with my boyfriend. With both the new season of Supernatural and a Sequel in the works the ship has sailed!” she said with a wide grin and you and Jensen laughed.

“You tell me!” he grinned “Wherever I go someone will talk about it and you know what? I completely understand!” he nodded his head.

“Of course you would.” you said with a small smirk and he gave you a look that just made you shift in your place uncomfortably.

“And you know-” he suddenly said, turning to look at the interviewer “I ship it too. Yeah, I ship us like you have no idea but I think I’m the number one fan here because this has been my ship for much longer than yours!”

“Really? That would be an interesting story to hear!”

“Oh you bet!” you exclaimed, remembering how much he tried everything in his power to get to you to say yes in a date with him.

“You know?” she raised an eyebrow and you nodded your head with a grin.

“I was drunk, that’s the only thing I have to say! I was drunk, for everything! Just getting it out there, before he says anything.”

“Excuse me?!” he gasped, looking at you in fake shock that made you and the other woman laugh “Ouch!” he placed a hand over his chest.

“You know what?” he looked at the interviewer “You think a woman loves you, you do everything together: Jump off cliffs, kill aliens, go through the end of the world and almost give your life for each other and that’s what she says: I was drunk. Pff” he scoffed, shaking his head “You end up getting married and after almost a year she tells me she was just drunk, can you believe that?” he asked, his voice almost squeaky as the woman stared with almost wide eyes between the two of you, her smile vanishing slowly as she got more shocked.

“Wh-what?”

“No, really. I even buy her flowers every chance I get- not just anniversaries but well, she was obviously drunk when she said yes.” he said with a clearly fake hurt face and you giggled as the interviewer gaped at you.

“You two are-” she ended up grinning as you nodded your head with a shy smile

“Ask the wife.” he said with a small pout as he rested his chin on his hand, his wedding ring more evident at that moment.

The Titanic themed gastronomic dinner that took months of preparations has finally happened.

and it was an absolute BLAST.

I never had this much fun during an evening in a long time ~

I am so glad everything went smoothly and according to plan ( aside a thing or two but everything ended up going very very well ~ )

Everyone were so nicely dressed, everyone put a lot of effort into their costumes ( We even had an Iceberg and the freaking door , we laughed so much! ) and the food was just Divine~ ( I planned a menu inspired by what was served on the ship ~ )

Our official photographer is processing the photos he took there, so I am just posting what I took with my phone for now ~ but the official photos will be posted later ~ ( for they are MUCH MUUUUCH better quality ahah )

I even got a host-gift of a “ Titanic beer”. Flawless ~

even underneath the waves, i’ll be holding on to you

basically, what would happen if neil and andrew were separated during an apocalypic situation.

The news says it first.

The world is ending and everything has gone to shit.

Nowhere is safe and nothing is okay anymore.

Nothing was ever okay, but they make it sound new, like this is something nobody expected to happen. Not here, never here.

It started with a virus. It was like the flu in every other way; the fever that kept people bedridden for days, the sickness and the headaches. It was like the flu in every other way but one: it slowly ate away at people’s insides, made living people into nothing but hollow hosts. Nobody would have expected a kindergarten teacher from the West to lash out her students but it was even worse when she bit one, and then he bit his mother three weeks later and she bit her boss. Like that, the vicious cycle continued. Everywhere there was panic, there was a disaster, there was death.

Top Secrets of Straight-A Students by Bullet Journals

1.) They get to class early. Getting to class early gives you time to be prepared and ready to study. Review your notes from the day before, lay out all your supplies (notebook, water bottle, pens, etc). You can also ask the teacher any questions you had about the material.

2.) They get ahead. The second they get an assignment, no matter when it is due, they do it. This is so so helpful. Do NOT procrastinate. You just end up being exhausted and tired. It’s not worth it. You might as well finish once you get it. Life will be so easy, believe me.

3.) They have an organized schedule. They figure out a schedule that works for them. They make sure to include time for extracurriculars, breaks, meal times, etc. Try to map out EVERY SINGLE MINUTE of your day.

4.) They prepare. They lay out their clothes for the next day, they finish their homework early, they even plan out what they will have for their meals for the next few weeks and what exercises theyt will be doing.

5.) They enjoy learning and want to learn. They aren’t just there because they have to be. They have a strong desire to learn. When you want to learn (even if you fake it) you usually do better on exams and papers.

6.) Everything is organized. Their desk has nothing on it but their Mac, their pens are neatly on the shelf in small cups, they make their beds the second they get out of bed. They have a filing system, so the second they get papers back they put them in the files. When everything of yours has a home it’s a lot easier to study and be productive.

7.) They treat school like their job. They may have other part-time jobs, but they know that school is their main focus, and it should therefore be treated as a job. Not wanting to be fired from your job corresponds with not wanting to fail your classes. They therefore work as hard as they can and try to “impress” the boss.

8.) They give it everything they have. They are dedicated, have goals, and know what they want. They don’t want to “just get through high school/college.” They want to learn, they want to become successful, and most are even aiming for goals such as valedictorian. They won’t accept B’s or C’s. (Please note that while it is very good to have high standards, getting a lower grade once in awhile isn’t that big of a deal!!!)

9.) They keep themselves happy and healthy. They take well deserved breaks (only when everything is done), they have “off” days, they get enough SLEEP and WATER, and they keep themselves fit doing yoga, running, cardio, etc.

10) They don’t mind helping other people. They don’t turn a blind eye to people who need help. Instead they use it as a teaching experience, and help the student through the problem or whatever they need help with. Teaching people is super helpful. I sometimes write on my whiteboard and pretend that I am teaching an imaginary (I’m such a loser but it helps;).

•••••••••• UPDATE (as of october 2017) - i know the title is misleading (i made this post in middle school lol) but please know that these tips work for me and will not work for everybody; i am also not a spokesperson for straight a students. everyone studies differently and straight a students come in a lot of different shapes and sizes. keep studying hard, love you all!

snaphound  asked:

i'm curious: do you think the animorphs could have won if they were adults? marco starts out as the only one with the maturity to understand death; it's sort of because the others don't have that understanding that they're so eager to fight. jake NEEDS to idealize past soldiers/leaders in order to keep himself, well, 'good', acting like he thinks they did, as much as he can. what do you think??

Interesting premise. Let’s suppose the Animorphs are five adults—thirty-three, let’s say, instead of thirteen—who encounter Elfangor as they walk home from where they were getting a few drinks at the local bar.

Suppose Marco is a smart-mouthed lawyer with more secrets and lies than genuine wins in his resume.  Suppose Rachel works as a graphic designer for a fashion magazine by day, but she lives for the nights when she goes surfing in the moonlight swells off the California coast or skiing at breakneck speeds in the Canada Rockies.  Suppose Tobias has been an adjunct professor at the local college for five years now and suspects he’s headed nowhere despite his Ph.D., whereas Jake is a high school dropout rocketing up through the ranks of his contracting firm thanks to his canny leadership skills.  Suppose Cassie’s in night school so that she can continue as a vet tech, always exhausted and always telling herself it’s all worth it.  Suppose they’re joined two weeks after the war begins by War-Prince Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill, who got his own self out from under the ocean without calling for help.

  • The first thing the Animorphs do is fly north and tell the governor about the invasion.  She calls the National Guard, the president, and the United Nations.  Within a month, the yeerks have doubled their force on Earth and the two species are in open total war.
  • The U.N. appoints a military commander to oversee the Animorphs, a five-star general with thirty years of combat experience.  Jake and Ax both salute him and call him “sir,” but they’re the only ones. Cassie calls him by his first name when she asks about his family.  Rachel and Marco hold side conversations in whispered thought-speak throughout his briefings.  Tobias sits in the back of the room, either preening feathers or doodling on his intel packet depending on what form he’s in.  Every time he gives them an order they thank him, leave the room, and then look at Jake to find out whether or not they should obey it.
  • The war wears on for months, then years, and the humans lose steadily.
    • Here’s the thing that it takes the U.S. and the U.N. a dangerously long time to adapt to: every time they lose a soldier, they lose every single scrap of intelligence contained within that soldier’s brain.  Every single time they’re forced to leave a man behind, they lose every base that person has ever visited, every file that person has ever seen, every scrap of knowledge once kept secret in that brain.  The humans start equipping their soldiers with cyanide capsules; the yeerks start gagging hosts the instant they’re captured.
    • Here’s the other thing they don’t figure out until it’s too late: even hardened soldiers balk at shooting their own friends and neighbors and siblings.  Even the ones with years of training will hesitate to shoot a child.  The yeerks know this, and they take advantage.
  • David is the son of the deputy director of the NSA, placed with the team in a blatant act of nepotism after he finds the morphing cube.  Rachel gets dishonorably discharged in the aftermath of the “accident” that causes his death.
  • Dissent starts to grow large within the ranks of the humans.  Several believe that the yeerks come in peace; several more believe that the humans should stop fighting and negotiate a truce.  There are still pockets of people who insist that there are no such thing as aliens, and the whole thing is made up to target certain types of people as “controllers.”
  • The yeerks take the entire Eastern seaboard of the U.S. and Canada.  There are simply too many people, too densely packed; the human military cannot protect those areas.  The humans retreat to the Midwest and Mexico.
  • Visser One gets put in charge of the invasion force, quietly moving Madra and Darwin offworld in the process.  Marco and Rachel, acting against orders, infiltrate her base and kill her and nearly sixty other high-ranking controllers before they are themselves gunned down.  The U.N. erects a statue in their honor, makes fifty other morph-capable soldiers to take their place, and keeps fighting.
  • Jake and Cassie marry.  She gets pregnant twice during the war, and knows that she can’t afford to keep either pregnancy. She never tells Jake about this.  Later, they will divorce in the last weeks of the war.
  • Visser Three once again takes over the invasion of Earth; he thrives at open war.  He bargains and threatens and calmly assures the human forces that they will lose, and that there is only one way to avoid death.  All they have to do is walk to the nearest yeerk compound, surrender, and let one of his warriors take away all their worry and pain.
  • The human race is dwindling.  There is no other way around it.  The yeerks kill humans because they already have more hosts than they need, and the humans kill humans every time they succeed in bombing a yeerk base or shooting a controller.  The species has already been decimated; everyone fears that within a decade it will be annihilated.
    • The humans destroy a Blade ship.  Forty humans and eighteen hork-bajir die.
    • Visser Three gets revenge by turning his dracon canon on China’s east coast.  Two hundred million humans die.
    • The humans blow up a yeerk pool.  Two hundred thirty-eight humans die.
    • The yeerks blow up Rio de Janeiro.  Twelve million humans die.
    • So it goes.
  • The human armies take refuge in Brazil and Argentina, in Tanzania and Angola and the DRC. The yeerks have control over the entire northern hemisphere.  Communications between the two continents are constantly intercepted.  Jake and Cassie and Ax go on mission after mission after mission, no one bothering to tell them what to do anymore.  Tobias comes sometimes; more and more since Rachel’s death he’s nowhere to be found.
  • Food runs short. Electricity runs out.  In the heat of the summers and the cold of the winters, in the times when a few handfuls of dried sorghum are all that can go around, dozens of humans quietly slip away.  The controllers are well-fed, well-equipped, well taken care of.  All it takes to earn safety and comfort is to give up your soul.
  • Three years pass this way, and the andalites finally arrive.
    • They are merciful: they rescue the few hundred free humans who remain before they blow up the planet.

More merch for me! I ordered some stuff by @aileine from Redbubble (a mug, a notebook, some stickers, a print, a pillow) and I’m the happiest bean rn because my Eruri-collection keeps growing and seriously…her stuff is amazing and looks awesome on the products *__*. The quality itself is also very good!

If only the Eruris themselves could keep away from my stuff =__=

They take couple-baths in my tea (til Erwin farts at least)…

…and they try to take glances at my notebook. Those fuckers.

[Drawing of a stick-figure girl with her hands on her hips and a nervous smile on her face. Above her are the words, “POTS Problem #37: Post-Event Exhaustion!” The girl says, “Well, I did the thing! Now to go home and sleep for a week!”]

I did a little public speaking and a lot of walking on Friday–then sort of fell asleep on my best friend in the car on the way home the next day, not to mention the power nap after we got home and the general feeling of “wow I can’t move.” Recovery days are real.

Although most days aren’t easy and putting in the work is strenuous, exhausting, and relentless… the runs here are worth it, the strength I gained to overcome any barrier is worth it, the friendships I’ve made are worth it, and this beautiful view is worth it..
