except i don't save the world

history meme (french edition)  →  4 families/dynasties/houses (¾) the ruling House of Bourbon.

“The Bourbons ruled their homeland for over two centuries, making it the greatest power in Europe, and taming and uniting a people who are arguably the most individualist and ungovernable in the world. They were the personification of both this grandeur and this seduction; let it be known that Louis XVI became a figure of compelling interest, with his refusal to save himself by shedding his people’s blood, creating a martyrdom in which he was soon joined by his beautiful Queen.Desmond Seward, The Bourbon Kings of France

Power Rangers (2017) Classic Superhero AU
  • Jason: Hi, my name's Jason, AKA "Toro Rojo." I was your average high school boy getting into trouble, playing football, and getting into pranks, until one of them went wrong and I crashed into a forgotten Superfund site. Somehow, the toxic waste there didn't outright kill me, and my exposure to a bull earlier that night turned me into a super-strong cow/human hybrid. Now I fight crime for the government in exchange for them trying to turn me back to normal.
  • Trini: Hey, I'm Trini, AKA "Gata Alejandra," and before you ask, no, I am NOT Jason's sidekick, we're partners--besides, I'm the better superhero. Anyway, it turns out I'm descended from a line of Luchadoras--masked wrestlers, except female--and I inherited a wrestling mask that gives me super cool, cat-and-professional-wrestling themed powers. It's pretty lit.
  • Kimberly: Hi, I'm Kimberly, or just Kim, and I'm the reincarnation of the Hindu Goddess "Kali"--well, a partial one, some Really Bad Dudes interrupted the process, so now there are bits and pieces of me all over the world and I don't have nearly as many awesome, destructive Goddess Powers as I should have. Coincidentally, these pieces tend to be found by supervillains, so I fight them and get what's mine back.
  • Billy: Hey everyone, I'm Billy, AKA "Bright Boy"! I'm actually a highly-complex android modified by my "dad" after the company he worked for tried to replace all their human workers with robots. I was meant for the scrapheap until he saved me, modified me, and turned me into the son he never had, except robotic, with a jetpack, drills, and the ability to handle and create high explosives, plus other forms of technology. He died after the robots in the mine went crazy and we tried to stop them, and his dying wish was for me to improve myself and help save other people, so that's what I'm doing.
  • Zack: Sup, name's Zack, AKA the current "Purifier!" My mom had the job originally, until a bunch of vampire-wannabes tried to kill her and poisoned her blood. Unfortunately, she's pretty much incurable, but fortunately, she passed on her kickass sword-of-pure-light and her powers to me so now I'm slaying demons, criminals, and other villains left and right to make sure that NO ONE ever has to suffer like I did ever again. Also, I get to use and shout the kickass names of all my secret techniques like the "Final Light" slash, and carry an entire armoury's worth of firearms on me at all times, so it's not all bad, I guess.
  • Tommy: Name's Tommy. Tommy Oliver. You might also know me as the newest "Justice Rider." Managed to find the last guy's bike in a scrapheap somewhere, put in some long nights fixing it back up from a rust bucket waiting to fall apart to a lean, mean, green machine, and out of gratitude it gave me superpowers, a kickass suit of armour complete with helmet, and lets me ride it even when we're not bringing the hurt to baddies, so now I can ride all around the world in a straight line if I wanted to. It's a PRETTY kickass deal.
  • Zordon: Greetings. My name is Zordon, I am an alien sent by an ancient civilization of warriors to protect this world from extraterrestrial threats, and your own people in the mutual interest of the civilized galaxy at large. I was betrayed and killed by my former ally, Rita Repulsa, so now I use my old ship and my vast amounts of alien technology to help monitor and manage this world's various dangers and direct "heroes" to the appropriate ones.
  • Alpha 5: Hi, I'm Alpha 5, I'm Zordon's robot sidekick doing everything he can't do while he's stuck in a wall!

I forgot to share this with the world but there is a reason you should never give me the ability to name my own saves

Handplates is a undertale fanfic by comic artist @zarla. Its about a doctor who creates two children using his own flesh and runs tests on them while hiding them from the world, because he feels obligated to save his people. Its super conflicted and there is no clear antagonist, andit hurts to love it. You should give it a try! (also tw for child abuse)

I actually never finished playing Undertale. I don’t think I’d be able to read a fic about it, especially one with child abuse.

The Moon and The Sun
  • Story time with the Saitama Family.
  • Inspired by the beautiful fanart collaboration of @cinensis @sai-pop @stickydoona
  • -Saitama sits with the Minis gathered around them as he reads a book that they'd picked from the library.-
  • Saitama: And so the heavenly Moon God returned to the night sky as the humans celebrated their festivities with the Sun God, with peace restored to their lands at long last.
  • -Genos peeks out of the kitchen as Nana and Ichii help bring out the food and dishware.-
  • Genos: Dinners ready, everyone.
  • -All the Minis scurry over to help at the dining room table...except for Hachi who looked at the book in a rather serious way.-
  • Saitama: Hey Hachi, what's up?
  • -He looked up with a frown on his face. He tended to be the last one out after story time since he liked to ask a lot of questions...like Genos (lol)-
  • Hachi: ...I don't like the way the story ended, Sensei.
  • Saitama: [-raises an eyebrow-] What do you mean? The two gods saved the world and brought peace back to the land for the humans through their powers. Isn't that a happy ending?
  • Hachi: [-shakes head-] But everybody ignored the Moon God in the end. Even though he's a big reason why they were able to win, no one recognized his efforts at all. He even sheds light upon them at night from then on, which is just as important as the Sun God who gives them the light of day.
  • Saitama: Well that's true.....
  • Hachi: ...Why do people do that? Why do they only give attention to one person when they could just as easily give it to others who deserve it equally?
  • -Hachi really was quite the humanitarian type who didn't like to see such unfairness, even in a storybook.-
  • Saitama: [-Smiles-] Can't argue with that. It definitely sucks when you're not recognized....But it isn't all that bad. True some guys aren't going to get much credit out of the things they do, but that's not what's important.[-kneels down at his level-] What's important is that they do their best in what they do. Even if there is no thanks for them in the end, they at least did what they wanted to to the end.
  • Hachi: But...isn't the Moon God lonely knowing the people will never look to him when he illuminates the night? [-he asked as he held the book up-]
  • Saitama: Not really. [-looks to Genos as he instructs the Minis where to put what on the table and smiles-] So long as the sun and the stars knew he was there, he's never really alone.

Has Garnet ever screwed up? I dont think Garnet has ever screwed up. At least not bad enough for me to not think shes completely perfect. I want an episode where Garnet screws up. She screws up BAD. And Amethyst and Pearl won’t let it go so Garnet loses confidence in herself and starts screwing up little things. And it’s up to Steven to help his square mom realize that one mistake, even if it was really bad, doesn’t make her a total failure. I’d watch that at least a thousand times.

okay but

an anti hero protagonist who wants to take over the world, in classic antagonist fashion, BUT over time you realize they actually have a working moral compass, and you start to wonder why exactly they want to take over the world, and then over time you realize they just want to take over the world because the world is in a terrible place, and having one person in charge of it is a necessary evil so that they can save it. AND then you realize that they actually have a plan that makes sense, and they’re not going to abuse their power, and they will not hurt or kill anyone to get to the top

With very, very clever use of rumor, surveillance, and investigation into government records (birth certificates, etc.), someone actually manages to uncover Alcor's true name - whether it be his nickname or original name I don't know ... Anyway, they try to use their new demon slave to take over the world, and it almost works, except the triplets catch wind of the plot and swoop in to save their favorite uncle in the most magnificently badass way imaginable.
