except for that crap this was really good

so these fuckers killed Stefan fucking Salvatore and Steroline, a ship that has been set up since the start, basically built the relationship up for 3 seasons now to be the best in the show.

so they could keep Delena, a ship built on betraying Stefan and hurt basically everyone in the show. A ship that has not been shown or all that important for 3 seasons except the whole “I have to do this for Elena” or “I cant be good without Elena” dribble that is mostly an obsessive relationship.

HEY WAY TO MAKE SHOW GUYS!!! really nice message your sending 👏👏👏

Weekly Voltron Fic Recs #24

Rules: You can find past weekly rec lists here, and non-list recs in my general fic rec tag. This is stuff I like, and I have a huge bias toward Lance, hurt/comfort, and general fluff, in that order. Gen unless otherwise noted. Please comment on the fics if you read and enjoy them!

Yes, it has been a full two weeks since the last “weekly” rec list. I have a good excuse. TOO MANY fics. There have been SO MANY excellent gen fics in the last two weeks, mostly because of @platonicvldweek, that I simply could not stop reading long enough to make a list. I am serious. And if I listed all of them, it would be just…ridiculously long. So many fantastic authors participated, and most of them posted seven stories, one for each day, and I just can’t do a rec for every single one.

So this week only, the rec list is going to be different than usual. For a bunch of the recs, it’ll a link either to an author’s collection of Platonic VLD Week fics, or one in particular that I consider my favorite, and I’ll make a few comments about how awesome they are, though that really should be a given. And I’ll ask you, my dear rec consumers, to go and read EVERYTHING each author wrote and comment as much as you can, because we need to keep encouraging this to keep the train going. IT’S BEEN WORKING SO WELL! Gen in this fandom is flourishing! It’s SO much better than other fandoms I’ve been in! That’s awesome, and it makes me really happy, but we gotta keep it going.

Not every fic here was written for the event, so some will be regular recs the way I typically do them.

So Here’s what You’re Not Going to Do by BreakTheDawn
Words:  19,572 (WIP 9/?)
Author’s Summary: He lets them take out the frustrations on him. Encourages it really, because people need an outlet for their anger, and Lance has always been the best at making people angry at him. (And if his heart twinges a little every time he has to let someone be particularly mean to him, then he just has to remember that this is what he’s good at. What he’s good for.) But Lance is an older brother, and an uncle, and a younger brother. He learned sometimes keeping people means sacrificing his own feelings for a bit. He’s been taught that he can’t always let his feelings take a back seat though. After all, what happens if the rock falls apart? So, while Lance is always prepared to be the enemy on any given day, there are certain days and certain things that he will not let fly. Or, What happens when Lance is sick of his teammate’s shit.
My Comments: At first I was afraid this was going to be one of those fics where everyone feels OOC in order to make Lance into the perfect woobie, but it’s really not. Everyone (except Hunk and Coran) is just having a bad day, or misunderstanding things, and they take it out on Lance because he’s an easy target for one reason or another. But Lance doesn’t take it lying down, which is good to see, though it eventually becomes too much for him. I really like these kind of emotional breakdown fics, not gonna lie, and I’m very much looking forward the healing that I know is coming. Can’t wait for more.

Friends in Space Places by VelkynKarma
My Comments: I’ve recced this author before, so you should KNOW how good she is, but holy crap, she pulled out all the stops for this week. By far the highest word count, and every single word is absolute gold. I have a VERY hard time picking a favorite from this collection, but the day 7 fic is a multi-chapter How to Train Your Dragon AU that’s still being posted, and holy crap, it’s so good. SOO GOOD. But they’re all good! So much hurt/comfort, so much protective paladins, so much badassery all in one place. Just read them. Read them all.

Hand-Me-Downs, Leftovers by yet_intrepid
Words: 1,181
Author’s Summary: “You don’t have to lie to make me feel better,” says Keith. “I’m not lying,” Shiro says. He takes a bite of his pizza; Keith mirrors him with the burrito. “Every step is a good step.”
My Comments: Short and sweet and perfect. So much feeling in a cold piece of pizza and a microwaved burrito. And I feel like I’ve had the same conversation during my college years.

A Dream Away by BossToaster (ChaoticReactions)
Words: 1,143 (WIP 1/?)
Author’s Summary: The Gen fics from my 1000 Followers Special.
My Comments: Just subscribe now so you won’t miss any. The first chapter is Shiro comforting a distraught Hunk, and the rest are going to be just as high-quality.

Blue and Bruised by DizzyBunnies
Words: 13,196 (WIP 5/?)
Author’s Summary: While saving innocent citizens from a minefield, Lance and the Blue Lion take a beating. Lance’s high brain activity threatens the use of a healing pod, so the team venture out to find a plant that may help Lance’s healing process. Hunk stays behind to watch after Lance, but will he be able to hold down the fort on his own?
My Comments: It’s hurt!Lance, and you know how much I like that. I really like the character interactions in this one.

How Much is that Doggy in the Window by isabeau25
Words: 1,039
Author’s Summary: Prequel to “What Every Little Kid Wants.” Keith finds Shiro’s birthday present and the rest of the team makes sure it will work out the way he thinks it will.
My Comments: I’m going to say this a lot, but read the whole series. The younger paladins work together to get a puppy for Shiro, and it’s adorable and wonderful. The first fic in the series is about Keith adopting a pet for himself, and it’s absolutely perfect.

Dream, Seam by ardett
Words: 4,937
Author’s Summary: Lance is the blue paladin. The Galra realize this before he does.
My Comments: I’ve screamed before here about how thoroughly this fic wrecked me, but I mean it. It WRECKED me. The author and I are gonna try to co-write a sequel, because I lost control of myself and wrote a thousand words of aftermath headcanons in the comments. So yeah. Look forward to that. Also read the rest of this author’s fics for Platonic VLD Week. They’re all great.

You’re The Only North Star (Platonic VLD Week) by story_monger
My Comments: Oh, man, so hard to pick a favorite. They’re all so GOOD, and they’re scattered evenly across the entire crew. I’m tempted to say Moonshadow, because it has hurt!Lance, but I think my favorite is actually The Beat Down for Coran just being absolutely BADASS and AMAZING and also interacting with Lance and reassuring him and just being…amazing. Gah, that fic made me love Coran so much, and I already adore him. Read it. Read them all.

Platonic VLD Week by hufflepirate
My Comments: Again, pretty much impossible to pick a favorite, but the Pacific Rim AU is SO COOL. And also sad and heartbreaking, but mostly cool. Coran is an amazing mentor to Shiro, and so smart and kind despite his unease with the way the Voltron jaeger works. And his relationship with Allura and backstory with Alfor were beautiful and tragic, respectively. Read read read.

Maja’s Platonic VLD Week 2017 by windscryer
My Comments: Such excellent, excellent hurt/comfort, and a lot of focus on Pidge, which is refreshing. I think my favorite is Break on Me for the protective Lance, but again, they’re all amazing. Read them all.

Impulsive/Spontaneous by gringle
Words: 9,230
Author’s Summary: Lance and Allura finally have a bonding moment. Part of Platonic VLD week: Day 6 Injury/Healing
My Comments: Such an EXCELLENT Lance, and great interaction for him and Allura. I love stories where Lance becomes a diplomat for team Voltron and uses his social skills to be amazing and badass. Yes, yes, baby, you have a thing, and it’s a fantastic thing that not everyone can do (I certainly can’t, myself), and you should be proud. I was so happy when Allura got angry, holy crap. Protective Allura is my jam. One of my jams. I have a lot of jams, but this one is delicious.

Small Fierce Things by playswithworms
Words: 5,241
Author’s Summary: Pidge is badly injured. Shiro does his best to angst over it, but is foiled.
My Comments: Pidge is an absolute badass, and so adorable, and the way she was EXCITED about the possibilities in what most would see as a horrible, unredeemable situation was amazing, and so her. Love this one. Love Pidge. Love Shiro.

Platonic VLD Week by BrOwNiEfOx
My Comments: I think my favorite is Pride as Family. Love that lion bonding, and everyone gets a chance to shine. It’s all good.

Measuring Up by MoonlitWaterSunnyRiver
Words: 1,092
Author’s Summary: Keith has insomnia, and finally decides to *do* something about it. Turns out he’s not the only one up at night. Keith & Lance friendship, written for Platonic VLD Week.
My Comments: Aw, boys. Good talk.

Foundation by buttered_onions for mumblefox
Words: 8,982
Author’s Summary: “Wait,” Lance says, eyes narrowed in suspicion. “I thought you said you’ve known Shiro all your life.” “I might as well have,” Keith says. The story of how Keith and Shiro meet.
My Comments: STAR WARS AU. This is so so so good, holy crap. And it’s a Jed Temple Star Wars AU, where the boys are Jedi with all of the Old Republic Jedi crap about how attachments are dangerous messing up both Keith and Shiro and making it hard for them to navigate the friendship that both of them desperately need. But they figure it out. Gorgeous stuff, gorgeously written. Read the whole series.

Haircut by earthstar
Words: 1,946
Author’s Summary: Keith is in dire need of a haircut.
My Comments: I have previously recced other fics in this series. Just read it all. It’s all good. Then subscribe to the series so you don’t miss anything. Trust me, you’ll be glad you did.

Hair Care In Space by earthstar, isabeau25
Words: 7,764 (WIP 4/8)
Author’s Summary: Just because you’re travelling in outer space in a flying castle, doesn’t mean you can skip out taking care of your hair.
My Comments: Everyone is adorable and it’s all good.

Bridge This Gap by BossToaster (ChaoticReactions) for mumblefox

Gunna Go Far, Kid by BossToaster (ChaoticReactions) for buttered_onions
Words: 3,034

Come Back (as pure as gold) by BossToaster (ChaoticReactions)
Words: 3,567
Author’s Summary: When Shiro steps out of his lion after the final battle with Zarkon, something is off. Seems like he missed something. Ten years of it.
My Comments: See above. Also this ones hurts and I hate it.

My Comments: This one is gorgeous and heartbreaking and so, so worth it.

Catch & Release by anonymous_scapegoat
Words: 2,625
Author’s Summary: Some Galra grunt makes the mistake of putting Pidge and Lance in the same cell. It goes about as well as you’d expect.
My Comments: Pidge and Lance being smart and snarky and perfect and working together really, really well. It really felt like an episode of the show.

when it rains, it pours by tuesdayandtuesday
Words: 2,461
Author’s Summary: day three of platonic vld week - lions/bonding in which lance cannot bear to be himself, and blue cannot bear to have him otherwise. s2 spoilers.
My Comments: I love Lance and Blue interaction so much, and this is beautiful.

Family is the Mixture of Chaos and Caring by CamillaLynne14
Words: 1,883
Author’s Summary: The teams morning has been… Chaotic. With a rough start to the day, then right into an intense training exercise, Coran and Allura feel guilty for how hard they’ve been working them. So the two form a surprise that may not go as planned.
My Comments: They tried, and no one should criticize them.

Hologram by AboveWeird
Words: 1,302
Author’s Summary: What Lance never anticipated was missing the stars. It felt so weird, so wrong to be out here among the stars when he knew nothing of their names or the myths they took part in. Most of all he missed the sun. It seemed like a silly thing. A giant ball of flaming gases shouldn’t be so dear, but yet no other star could ever mean as much. It had watched over him, looming and unseeing, for all of his life. It was a constant. And now, by an unthinkable turn of events, it was gone. All he had left was this hologram.
My Comments: Cuddle pile on Lance! It’s good.

↳  “I’ll kill him!! I’ll fucking kill him, I’ll–!!”

Emotional storm.
Whoever Keith is looking at is good as dead (supposing Pidge doesn’t get to him first, but either way they’re dead).

I really have no explanation for this except I watched 80′s Voltron.
There is literally nothing I can probably do to make up for what I did to Pidge in this fanart…I do tend to be sadistic to my favorite characters :’D

How well I think the v3 characters were handled
  • Kaede: wasted. just, her main purpose was to be framed and die. no. her execution however was the best I've seen
  • Amami: same as Kaede, except we never even got to see him in trial which kinda sucks because he'd be extremely helpful given his insight.
  • Iruma: never really expected much from her, but she was a fun character with pretty standard motive
  • Ouma: they just HAD to make him a Komaeda.
  • Kiibo: good god someone save this cinnamon roll please
  • Tsumugi: too obvious a mastermind. Her motives were pretty crap and her execution was too boring. loved her junko cosplay though
  • Saihara: another twink protagonist without any actual talent, yaaay. It would have been nice if he turned out to be evil but it seems kodaka thought no.
  • Gonta: wish he had more time ingame to not just be an ouma slave
  • Maki: another killer, yay. Have to admit her screentime was used well though
  • Ryouma: I like how he's conflicted over his lack of will to live but he shouldn't have died so early on
  • Kirumi: a good woman. nuff said. However, chapter 2 had too many death flags.
  • Shinguuji: the personality twist was rather unexpected, but it made him into some sort of creep nobody missed in the end. except me. Shinguuji is best woman.
  • Tenko: I'm glad they made her more than a boy hater. Seriously Tenko is too good and pure
  • Angie: a murderer angie would have been nice. Her personality didn't change much throughout the game and even towards her death.
  • Himiko: too pure. Character development pretty cool. Also probably the only "short loli girl" to survive a killing game
  • Kaito: good grief where do I start, Kaito Momota is perfect and his character development was off the charts, that twist was brilliant, he died for my s i ns
Juphelia With Kids

-So Jules is a teacher and Ophelia is a cop.
-O actually has normal colored hair (forced by her job)
-they are hella over protective parents
-their kids are kinda really sheltered
-And juphelia is the perfect parents who “never do anything wrong”
-so their kids dont really know that they are kind of badasses (except O bc shes a cop, but they always thought that O was like a good child and crap)
-so as their kids get older they begin to tell them about their younger selves
-and the kids are just kind of like wtf
-they show them pictures from college (“mom are you wearing a weed shirt?” “No…” “that is definetly weed” “how do you even know what that is” “mom im fifteen, please” “dont you ever do weed! It is a gate way drug and itll kill you” “there is literally a picture of you smoking a joint, you cant say anything” “shut up! Dont smoke weed”)
-they find out about the vigilante thing and o being a weed dealer and their like wtf our parents werent always lame
-and then thy beg jules to teach them how to fight (at first she says no, but then shes like “rats, you do need to know how to defend yourselves”)
-so their children become badasses as well and thy want to carry out their parents legacy (which o and jules flip the fuck out about and lecture their kids about not doing for three weeks)
-the kids dont listen and become vigilantes, and O ends up arresting them for vigilante work and gets so pissed bc she lectured them on this
-so the kids get grounded, Ophelia yells at them and Jules gives them the silent treatment (bc it makes them feel worse when shes just silent, with a dissappointed/angry look on their face)
-they try to go out again but jules follows them, and they almost get hurt by the guy their going after and Jules ends up saving their ass and beating the shit out of the guy
- jules takes them home and is silent the whole way and the kids are like holy shit that was awesome but crap she pissed
-and when they get home she just goes to her bedroom and leaves them to O. O looks at them and shakes her head then follows Jules.
-the kids apologise and that stops their vigilante adventures (for now at least)

Ok maybe not a newbie. Pretty sure the term would have applied to very young me also, and I’m in my early 30’s now. But I didn’t know there was like…a community! Hello! Happy to have discovered you!

So I guess I’ll do a little intro. Hi! I’m that-hurts, and I definitely fall into the category of a whumper. Going waaay back, I remember rather enjoying when fictional characters had a bad day. I was pretty sure that wasn’t a good thing though. I did recognize that it only applied to fictional people though. Go ahead and beat the crap out of a favorite fictional character, that’s good stuff. But anything happening to real people…no. Don’t care if it’s a paper cut. Nope.

I suppose my version of whump does tend to have a sexual side to it, and while I said no real-life, there is an exception for consensual bdsm/s&m. Emphasis on it being consensual. But whump-wise, I also really enjoy when a character is comforted after whatever happened. I have two fics going right now (one more whumpy than the other), and the comfort side is very important to me. I suppose I should plop in here that I’m bi. That doesn’t relate to the last, but I can’t find a natural place to state it lol.

As for characters and tv or movies, a few spring to mind easily. There will probably be a lot of OUAT’s Hook on here. He gets knocked around so often and is just so damn pretty. I don’t really even watch the show anymore, but can’t pass up a good gif of that fella. Supernatural just seems to put everyone through the grinder. And while I prefer when it’s Dean or Castiel on the receiving end, it’s mostly all good. Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis were good whumpy shows. Hell, Daniel seemed to just straight-up die every season, the poor boy. The Magicians? Also good. More on the emotional side, but not complaining. There are more of course.

Everyone I listed there is a guy, but I can also go for the occasional bit of lady whump. I don’t see much of it in what I watch, though. SG-1 actually had a bit though. Gotta be done right, though. Need a strong female character for that to work for me, not someone who is just written to be a victim.

Anyway, here I am. Don’t be surprised if I go on a re blogging and following spree! I don’t know how to make my own gifs, so there won’t be original content outside of text or fic.

Every man I’ve ever loved has died.
Including my baby.
Thank you, universe!
So I should be like, Greek tragedy

But I’m good. I got this. I am fine.
I’m telling you, I’m amazing.

I am entertaining

snoopy20111  asked:

Hey Brian, I just got into Star Vs. and I have to say, as a beginning music/audio engineer/producer/nerd and I have to say, I'm a HUGE fan. I just had a few questions, if you have the time. 1) When you have to score a sequence, how do you usually go about it? 2) I really love a lot of your dissonant scores. Do you have any musical tendencies towards certain keys/scales/chords? 3) What's your most favorite recent composition? and 4) What was the #1 thing you've learned on the job? You're awesome!

Such great questions! Here we go.

1) When you have a score to sequence, how do you usually go about it? I have a large Cubase template with hundreds of instruments already loaded (mostly housed on another computer, being triggered via MIDI via LAN). On top of that I have another couple dozen blank instrument tracks ready to have something loaded in them, which is necessary for a lot of the synth stuff I do. I also have another template that is almost completely blank, which I find useful for pushing myself out of my comfort zone.

And then I pick an instrument and just start writing. I know that’s terrible advice/description. But I feel like scenes have an inherent “tempo” to them based on the editing and general movement of the camera and characters, and I pick a BPM and hit play and just start plunking on a sound I think is good for the scene. I adjust the tempo/time signatures and add instruments and mix as I go along. The less I regiment the process, the easier it is for me. Everything except the creative stuff – hardware, software, templates, routing, etc – is meticulously set beforehand so I can just sit down and write, but the creative stuff itself is pretty freeform.

2) I really love a lot of your dissonant scores. Do you have any musical tendencies towards certain keys/scales/chords? Again, I have a crap answer re: the dissonant stuff – I seriously just play random notes. I was a pretty intense competitive pianist in my youth, so my fingers are quick. But when it comes to following any kind of firm music theory dissonance – nah. :) There’s a ton of super dissonant stuff in the graveyard fight in Bon Bon that I’m really happy with, and that was just me picking a rhythm and then hitting record and playing random notes in that rhythm. And in these cases, you just have to trust your ears to tell you if what you are doing works or not.

Here’s the thing though – I do feel it is necessary to learn the rules before you break them, because then the bending of the rules is coming from a place of knowledge, instead of a lack thereof. I studied theory pretty intensely in college and grad school, and that’s really important for training your ears.

3) What’s your favorite recent composition? From recent SVTFOE, it’d have to be the final act of Bon Bon. There are some cool things I’ve written for episodes of SVTFOE that you haven’t seen/heard yet, which I’d also include, but can’t. But they’re cool. :)

I am very proud of the music I wrote for the TBS show Search Party. There’s a Soundcloud playlist on this Tumblr. It’s all electronic, very moody and atmospheric.

I also have this song I sing to my kid that’s basically “little baby Bash baby Bash is a baby” and I think it’s solid.

4) What was the #1 thing you’ve learned on the job? The job is, at most, only half about writing. The other half is being a receptive, emotionally aware person. This is important not just for understanding the context of the scene you are trying to score, but also for talking to your collaborators. So if you’re seeking advice, I’d say be a good musician, but also be a good person. I am still working on both of those things.

Keith shipping Klance because, well ...

One day, when they’ve managed to get along and bond over fights and food goop, when they’re finally good friends and battle buddies, he just suddenly realizes:

“Crap, do I like Lance?”

The answer is yes. And it gets worse.

Because Lance is naturally observant except when it’s, you know, right in front of his face. And Keith is not going to say anything. So he goes on pining and suffering. And trying to avoid Lance. And sort of hating Lance for doing this to him. (Lance is very confused by this shift back to antagonistic rivals.)

Until one day, Keith just accepts it. He goes back to being friends with Lance (who takes it and runs with it). And he figures he’s fine with them just being friends. It’s fine. Really. All good, no problem.

Until Pidge gets involved. Then Hunk. And Allura. Then Shiro, and Coran, and pretty much everyone knows. Except Lance …

Now, in the penultimate chapter of Objects in Motion (When Unbalanced), Pidge is the captain of the S.S. Klance, with everyone else serving as her crew. She is going to get this ship to sail into the sunset, holding hands and all that other crap because science will save the day.

That, or she’ll just hit them both over the head repeatedly. Whatever works.

A Word on Buffyverse Ships

I’ve been thinking a lot about the romantic relationships of Buffy, the canon ones and the fandom ones. I’ve never really committed fully to one ship or another, nor have I condemned one or another. I’ve watched them, I’ve analyzed them, sure. But I’ve never picked one or voted one off the island. I suppose it wasn’t the reason I watched the show, so I never saw the point.

Recently, I rewatched both shows as an adult (rather than a teen/collegiate). It’s amazing how a few years can bring new perspective to things. Writing my own fanfiction and reading that of others as well as engaging in many wonderful discussions here with other fans has really made me think about which ships I’m really ride or die for, and which I could do without. So, here’s my take for those interested (since I’ve given my two cents here and there in many of your discussions, I’m sure). Please feel free to reply, discuss, or what have you.

I’m going to talk about these basically chronologically (to the best of my memory). I haven’t scoured the Internet for every single ship, so these are just the ones I’ve thought extensively about recently. If there’s one I don’t mention and you’re curious about my thoughts, drop me a line.

Xander/Buffy – A Nice Thought
I enjoy the idea of this one in a post-show timeline. As a teenager I think Xander is way too immature and judgmental to be a good fit for Buffy. During the rest of the show’s run they’re on different pages romantically and don’t seem to want the same things, so I don’t think there was ever really a right time for them to be a couple during the show storyline. Although when I read the rumor that Sarah Michelle Gellar and Nicholas Brendan pitched the pairing for season six I gushed a little. I do think by the end of the series Xander has displayed a remarkable amount of growth to become a humble, supportive man. He’s loyal to Buffy in the way that he’s by her side no matter what. Even if he disagrees with her or if he’s angry at her, when push comes to shove he’s in the fray right with her. However, he’s not a yes man. He’s not so enamored with Buffy that he doesn’t see her flaws, and he’s not afraid to call her out (albeit a bit brutally) when he thinks she’s making a mistake. He also accepts her for who she is, even the parts he doesn’t understand. I don’t think these two would work as a lifelong pair, but they’d be an interesting match if the timing was right for them. Ultimately, I think it was a good move that this one remained unrequited.

Buffy/Angel – Meant to Be
I have conflicted feelings about this one. I do not think it was a healthy example of a relationship, nor do I think it was intended to be a romanticized thing for people to aspire to. To me, the Buffy/Angel relationship always came off as a cautionary tale. Buffy was young and naïve at the start of their courtship, and the guy had a checkered past. “Oh, but he’s different. He’s changed.” Her mother didn’t approve, stating Angel was too old for Buffy (rightfully so). All the iffy red flags were there. I think Buffy was good for Angel, motivating him and helping him grow. But, I think he might have been a hindrance to her, as he always became priority over anything else (like oh, say, an apocalypse). One of my favorite Buffy moments is when she sacrifices Angel to prevent the Acathla apocalypse at the end of season two because she overcame that very issue. As an aside, I think Angel was a bit shady in his relationship with Buffy, knowing it wasn’t the best thing for her, that realistically a life with him would mean a lot of sacrifice on Buffy’s end. But, he pursued it anyway. The part where he had sex with Buffy and lost his soul is a bit suspect for me. The show seemed to steer us toward the direction that he didn’t know exactly what “a moment of true happiness” meant, so that he couldn’t really know sex with Buffy would make him lose his soul. But I have to think he knew it was at least a risk or a possibility. In my opinion, he was a bit reckless with that relationship, always going against his better judgment. So, I have my beef with this relationship for sure, and it’s not my personal favorite. However, I think Angel is the person Buffy always measures everyone else she dates up to. He’s the one for her, and I think Buffy is the same for Angel. Therefore, these two are my OTP, much to my chagrin.

Giles/Jenny – We Hardly Knew Ye
This is a tough one. I wish we’d gotten a bit more time with Giles and Jenny because they barely got to be a relationship. Because of that, it’s hard for me to land on it. They have kind of a nice bickering Pride and Prejudice thing happening, which is amusing. And it was nice to see Giles have his own life outside of being a watcher and a librarian. I also love Jenny as a character. She was portrayed in a way that I could imagine running into her teaching at my high school. She was a character I could see actually existing as a part of my world. Sadly, I don’t see this as a long-lasting relationship. Mostly because they didn’t know each other very well and never struck me as madly in love. Had they gotten the chance, I’m not sure it would have worked out, particularly with that slight deception on Jenny’s end that put her at odds with Buffy.

Oz/Willow – The One I Want to Want
This ship is particularly close to my heart for many reasons. Willow is probably the character high school me could relate most to, and Oz is my all-time favorite Buffyverse character. I can’t explain why. He just is. I think for much the same reason I like Jenny. Because he’s someone I could have gone to high school with (you know, aside from the werewolf part). This was the relationship I lived vicariously through when I was single or feeling bummed about a break-up. Oz was kind, considerate, quietly charismatic, drily witty, intelligent, and endlessly patient. He wasn’t some knight in shining armor, or a smoldering heartthrob. He was just a guy, like any other guy I could have known. The fact that Willow caught the eye of a nice guy gave me personal hope for my own situation. Some days it still does. Oz is the dude I would date, marry, and have little werewolf babies with. Willow is my spirit animal. So, even though these two aren’t an OTP for me as a fic writer/reader or a fan, they are my favorite ship. I could go on and on about them, so I’ll keep it short and sweet.

Spike/Drusilla – Eyeballs to Entrails
These two are one of my favorite ships on the show. They’re dark and twisted and they’re both formidable villains when they want to be. But Spike, despite his undeniable edge, is so gentle with Drusilla and so devoted to her, it was one of the first hints of depth we saw in a vampire other than Angel. And Drusilla, despite her timid personality, had so much power in that dynamic. She was a strong woman, a force all on her own. These two are an OTP for me. I think if Drusilla had never left Spike he would have stayed with her forever. If Drusilla managed to get a soul she and soul-having Spike would probably reconnect with interesting results.

Spike/Angel – I’m Sure That’s a Thing
I don’t really see a window for this in the run of the shows, but I totally believed these two were a Louis/Lestat type of thing back in the days of the Whirlwind. I definitely see a lot of subtext there, intended or not.

Cordelia/Xander – Well, There’s Something You Don’t See Every Day
I… don’t know where this one came from. When Cordelia and Xander shared their first dramatic kiss I think I laughed. “Oh, what a funny reaction for these two to have in that moment.” And then that moment continued into a pretty substantial relationship. I never quite understood why these two were ever a thing. Realistically, yes. I get it. We’ve all watched two people get together and started taking bets on the date of their inevitable break-up. And on some levels I get the appeal. It’s The Shop Around the Corner effect: these two can’t stand each other, so naturally they need to be together. I did like the depth this relationship uncovered in Cordelia, but it’s not one of my favorites.

Willow/Xander – Ugh. Really?
Okay, I’m admittedly biased on this one because I’ve told you how I feel about Willow/Oz. I also have a general pet peeve when it comes to stories taking two characters who are good friends and deciding they have to pair them. It bugs the crap out of me that a man and a woman aren’t allowed to just be friends in anything ever (except for Lucas and Haley in One Tree Hill and I love that about that show). I also can’t stand love triangles. In conclusion, I hated this. Blasphemy. Never should have happened. Oz is a saint for forgiving Willow. Cordelia has every right to be pissed off about it. Xander’s a dick for having the nerve to pull that Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered crap.

Buffy/Faith – Now That You Mention It…
A relationship between Buffy and Faith never occurred to me when I watched the show. Then I read some fanfiction and some discussions about some subtext between these two. So, when I rewatched the show recently it was like “Wow, how did I never see that before?” One of my favorite moments in the show is the shared dream between Buffy and Faith at the end of season three. There is so much going on between these two women. I’m not sure the timing for a pairing was ever right for them in the show. Buffy was kind of closed off to Faith in the beginning, threatened by her and distant. Then once Faith went rogue I think she did some pretty unforgivable stuff as far as Buffy’s concerned. Faith could say the same. Buffy did try to kill her. I don’t think Buffy would ever forgive Faith for poisoning Angel, or for the body swap, but I don’t think Faith would fault her for that. And I think Faith could forgive Buffy for stabbing her. I wish there was a window somewhere in the story where I could see this ship happening. Maybe post season seven. I’d have to think on it. However, I think these two women have a unique bond and, under the right circumstances and in the right plot, I could see this happening.

Giles/Joyce – Awkward
I’m glad this was just kind of a fun one-time thing because how awkward would that have been? I feel like Joyce is always a bit competitive with Giles when it comes to Buffy. On the one hand, she respects Giles and appreciates how much he cares for Buffy. On the other hand, she resents him at times for endangering Buffy or for taking her away on some level. I think these two would always have a difference in opinion on what’s best for Buffy, and that would kill any chance at a relationship they might have. How funny was that Band Candy episode, though?

Xander/Faith – Wait, What Just Happened?
Again, I’m glad this was a one-time thing because – wait, what? This struck me as a plot device, a way to show us Faith was more dangerous than we thought. Tough break for Xander.

Xander/Anya – Haha! Oh, Wait… You’re Serious?
The issue I have with this ship is that it became a running gag on the show that Xander always fell for the monsters or the weirdos. Even when their relationship started, Anya was so awkward and out of place it was comedic. So when they made Xander and Anya a long-term couple I could never really take it seriously. I was always waiting for the punchline. It didn’t help that as the show progressed they sort of gave Anya the Eric Matthews treatment and she went from trying to get used to being a mortal to “Who dropped her on her head?” Although they kind of grew on me, I never really considered this a realistic or long-lasting pairing. I did like Anya’s arc after Xander bailed on their wedding. We got to see her trying to return to her demon ways and feeling conflicted. We got to see Xander struggle with the idea of a healthy marriage. That was all well and good. I just don’t see this as an OTP kind of thing.

Riley/Buffy – A Breath of Fresh Air
This is another ship that I personally really enjoy. Riley is a good, solid guy who’s a badass in his own right and doesn’t mind dating a woman who’s independent and badass. I think Riley and Buffy had a healthy relationship, for the most part, until that clunkily executed break-up at the end (I think the show could have written that better). This wasn’t quite a relationship I related to or lived vicariously through because Riley’s not really my type and I couldn’t really relate to Buffy much during this point in her arc. But, I enjoyed watching this ship and I really wanted it to work. It was healthy and safe, and Buffy never has enough of that in her life. However, I think the issues in the relationship were realistic. Buffy got kind of closed off and neglectful, and Riley got insecure and needy. Had that fortuitous and conveniently timed job offer not come along, I think these two could have eventually worked through those issues with some effort and commitment. But, I don’t think Riley could ever hold a candle to Angel, so as long as Angel was in the picture I think he was always SOL.

Tara/Willow – You Make Me Complete
This ship took me some time to warm up to, mainly because I felt like they wrote Oz out a bit unceremoniously so I didn’t quite buy the quick progression to Tillow. However, I think these two had one of the most functional, realistic relationships in either of the shows. I would consider it THE most functional relationship if the whole addiction to magic arc with Willow hadn’t happened (but that was a bit manipulative and unhealthy). I think Willow truly became whole as she grew over the course of her relationship with Tara, and I think Tara could breathe with Willow and feel comfortable with herself. I can’t picture these two ever being as fulfilled with other people as they are with each other. I would have liked to see more of Willow coming to terms with her sexuality and dealing with that, and I would have liked to see a bit more development with the relationship. But these two are an OTP for me.

Spike/Anya – I Almost Forgot About That
I didn’t like this either. They just shoved these two together, got them drunk, and had them sleep together. It felt very contrived to me and I wasn’t a fan.

Angel/Cordelia – I Guess You’ll Do
I never quite bought into this. It’s very similar to Jenny and Giles for me in the way that it was hinted at that these two might have warm fuzzies for each other, but nothing was ever significantly done with it. For me, I don’t know if I see this as a viable relationship. A lot of that is due to Angel being hung up on Buffy.

Cordelia/Doyle – A Face You Could Learn to Love
These two had so much potential and I wanted so badly for them to be a couple. Another Jenny Calendar effect here where there was barely anything to suggest a possible relationship. But I think the chemistry between the two characters was spot on from the start. From the second he sees her Doyle’s head over heels with the idea of her and she’s rolling her eyes all “as if.” But then they get to know each other and he genuinely appreciates the person she is. Unfortunately she never really gets to know him at all, so I don’t really know how that relationship would have panned out. But I would have loved to see what would have happened.

Fred/Angel – Handsome Man Saved Me from the Monsters
I’m glad this never became a full relationship in the show. I like the fact that these two were genuine friends and there weren’t any romantic strings attached. Fred had a bit of a crush in the beginning, but I think that was a confusing mix-up on her part more than actual feelings. He saved her, so she automatically developed an appreciation for him. Overall these two had a sweet friendship and, while I think it could have developed into something under the right circumstances, I’m really glad it didn’t.

Fred/Gunn – What Could They Possibly Have in Common?
I’m not sure how these two ended up together. Opposites attract, I suppose. It just didn’t feel like a real relationship to me. I tried to picture these two sitting around bored and talking and I had no idea what they’d possibly talk about. I feel like they’d be having a strike out conversation. “Do you like movies?” “Oh, I haven’t really seen too many. I do like some of those old black-and-white romantic movies.” “Oh. I’m not much for romance. More of an action kind of guy.” “Oh… Have you read any good books lately?” “Uh… Not really. Been a little busy sharpening my knives and stakes.” “Oh, right…” *cricket, cricket* It’s not quite that I don’t like this ship. It’s more that I would have liked to have seen more of it, how it developed and how they worked. I didn’t really have enough evidence to buy into it.

Fred/Wesley – Too Much Alike
I understand the appeal of this ship, but in my opinion these two are too similar for a relationship to work well. I think they’re much better as friends.

Buffy/Spike – Love Me, Hate Me
I have a lot of personal bias with this one and it brings up some unpleasant feelings for me, so I don’t think I could ever fully get on board with it even if I tried. That being said, I could see why this made sense at the time. This was always a relationship I could see happening under the right circumstances. Well, the stars aligned in season six and there you have it. The thing I don’t like about this ship is how very unhealthy it is on both sides. It’s very manipulative and abusive, and while that would be just fine if the two of them were soulless villains, it felt pretty out of character some of the time, particularly for Buffy. There was always a forced nature to it for me, which maybe was the point. Anyway, overall while I can see how it makes sense and I get the appeal, this isn’t one I can rally behind because it makes me feel too icky.

Angel/Faith – Huh. Well, That’s Interesting
There’s a lot of potential here. I think Faith and Angel understand things about one another no one else really could. They’ve both done terrible things (and enjoyed it), and they’re both on sort of an impossible road to redemption. After a certain point, these two quietly became pretty ride or die for one another. And believably so. I didn’t really see a place in the show’s storyline where their pairing could have realistically fit, but I could see these two being a pair under the right circumstances. I think problems would arise because Angel’s OTP is Buffy, and I think Faith would be very troubled by the idea of being compared to Buffy. But, it would be an interesting run while it lasted.

Wesley/Lilah – A Sharp Turn
This was unexpected, but very cool. I liked that we saw a darker edge to Wesley and a softer side of Lilah. I also believed this relationship from the start. It made total sense to me at the time even though I didn’t see it coming. These two had a mutual respect for each other, and they challenged each other. I also think they were very much in love, but neither of them really wanted to voice it (and I think they understood that about each other). While this relationship wasn’t good for the rest of the characters involved because it sort of took Wesley away from the group, I like this ship a lot and it has the potential to be an OTP in my book. I would have needed to see a bit more of it.

Angel/Darla – It’s Complicated
I have mixed feelings about this one. While I think Darla and Angel totally miss the mark, Darla and Angelus are a perfect match, much like Spike and Drusilla. I think Angelus and Darla have a mutual appreciation for torturing and ruining others, and I think Darla understands exactly who Angelus is and is content to let him be that. He may not be devoted to her or even in love with her, but she’s okay with that. As long as she’s a part of the fun and she’s in on the plans. It’s not like she’s entirely loyal to him either. She has her own agenda and likes her independence. However even human Darla and soul-toting Angel didn’t really click for me. I think these two only work when they’re both soulless monsters.

Connor/Cordelia – Eww, Why is This Happening?
This was just gross. Wrong on so many levels. Cordelia was a mother figure to Connor, so her having a romantic thing with him was just icky, amnesia or no. Don’t even get me started on the “It wasn’t really Cordelia” thing. However, on Connor’s end I totally understood it. He never knew Cordelia as a mother figure. She was someone who was in a similar position he was in. They were both sort of lost and out of place, and neither of them trusted the group of people claiming to be their allies. I also think Connor sort of needs something to do or he goes a little sideways. He needs a thing to kill, a task to complete, or someone to protect. Cordelia was a purpose he could cling to, and cling he sure as shit did. However, this is another one I think was blasphemy and never should have happened. It was outright character assassination for both of them.

That’s about all the steam I have. If I think of anymore ships I’ll do another entry. In the meantime, please comment, discuss, or message if you feel the need.

How would classic, fell, and swap sans react if their s/o was jealous because someone was flirting with sans?

He’d think green’s not a good color on you. Do you really have that little trust in him, to even think that he’d consider dating another person just because of a little flirting? Wow, babe–that chills him right to the bone.

He actually…kinda likes seeing you jealous. He’s never really had anyone else give a crap about his well-being (except Papyrus & Grillby, in their own dickish ways), so to see you getting riled up–well, let’s just say that he starts pushing those limits as far as he can get them.

Here it is, guys! :D

For all my mythical beast friends here at Tumblr, I put together every moment I could find where something not really safe for children happened! Of course the title is ironic and of course I don’t intend to point an accusing finger at them for this at all, this was made entirely for fun!

Forgive my awful editing skills, I wanted to use a good software and I ended up downloading Sony Vegas Pro and holy crap, that was hard at first *Link Neal mode: ON*

There are a few exceptions where what they said wasn’t really NSFW, but there you are! Hope you enjoy and let me know if I missed any other moments (I know I left out a couple words they said which might be considered bad words, I focused more on the adult conversations and comments). And also ask away if you want the link to any of the episodes corresponding to the clips!

you’re killing me, smalls.

A/N:  This is for @bellakeyblake because I promised her a The Sandlot-ish AU and I had to deliver. If you guys want to watch a really cheesy movie about friendships and baseball watch The Sandlot. Super super cute, one of my favorites. Enjoy!! (also the title is from the movie!)

Summary: “So you just like, pretty much broke some kind of legendary baseball record and you’re telling me you care more about finishing the game?” Wells asked, eyebrows furrowed.

Everyone looked to Bellamy for an answer. He shrugged.

“Records aren’t what’s important to me, anyways. I don’t care about being a legend. I just wanna play ball.”

read it on ao3

The summers Clarke spent in that old run down sandlot with her friends would go down in history as her greatest summers ever spent.

That first year she moved to the little neighborhood of Walden, it had just been her and Wells, sneaking over to each other’s houses in the dead of the night, reading books under blankets with flashlights and quiet voices about how much Clarke missed her dad. Her mom had just gotten remarried to Marcus Kane, and they had moved in with him. She was both happy, because she got to be closer to Wells, but she was kind of sad, because it had only been two years since Jake passed, and it was hard for fifteen year old Clarke.

The next year they get out more often on their bikes, because Wells just got a new one and Clarke is a little less afraid of the world. That’s the summer they stumble on the sandlot, that’s the summer they met the people that would change their lives forever.

Clarke remembers that day well. She’d just turned sixteen, and she was feeling larger than life, riding her bike standing up with eyes squinted shut, her dad’s old long billed hat sitting tight over her unruly golden curls. Wells was laughing, before he shouted her name, and an unidentified flying object came hurtling towards her.

It was a baseball. An incredibly dirty baseball. And it had nearly given Clarke a shiner.A small brunette girl, probably two years younger than them ran up to collect it.

Ok, you said boffinshield, Bofur and Bilbo smoke Old Toby, and bake together. I raise you, Bilbo is baking for some important diplomatic meeting, and that what Hobbits do. Bofur sneaks a crap ton of Old Toby into whatever Bilbo is making. BONUS: Bilbo notices after the first bite, doesn't say anything to the others. Also Thrandy is there.

This is not really what you prompted at all except it is boffinshield and has old-toby baked goods and thrandy is there.

But here it is, just in time for the holiday.

Do you know where you can get some good loot from quests?

*It really depends on what you consider “good loot”. Most loot levels with you.
*If you’re looking for the best weapons and armor in the game, it’s far easier to just level your smithing and make them yourself.
*If you pick up the treasure maps, you can get some good crap out of those chests, but like your typical dungeon chests they level with you.
*Early levels: If you like heavy armor- try a Dwarven dungeon because you can always find dwarven armor and weapons in there. If you’re more into light armor - jump some Thalmor wearing elven armor. Those are both pretty easy to access.
*If you’re looking for gems and gold- there’s a branch in the Lock-picking tree that includes golden touch and treasure hunter that will make you get better loot. They are very effective and it’s a good way to get rich fast.
*Some quests give decent gear. My favorite quest item is Mehrunes’ Razor which has a chance to insta-kill. I don’t really use any other quest-loot, I just sell that crap. Some people really like other Daedric artifacts. Don’t be scared of any daedric quests, just do what the demon says and there really aren’t any bad consequences. (The only exception is Azura’s star, where I always side with the mage because the loot turns out better that way to me.)
*If you’re a magic user, Shalidor’s maze near Labyrinthian has a really nice reward if you solve it completely.

Hope this helps  -  cheers!

When I get great loot: Wow, this loot system mechanic is genius! Really, this system is flawless, look at how I just tear up these enemies pertinent to my play style and character build. Just. WOW! I hope this never changes!

When I get crap loot: Gearbox really needs to up their game with the loot system. I swear if I get another severely under-leveled common-rarity Bandit Assault Rifle I’m going to lose it, exCEPT I DON’T have a goOD GUN TO LOSE IT WITH!!

peter was part of the marauders but not very important, hes just like a bumbling idiot that they tolerate because hes in the same house as them. so it doesn't really matter.

not sure if you’re trolling orrrrr.

but i dont really care okay heres the thing about Peter. Everything you just said is pure fanon BS. the fandom MADE him that way through fanfic and crap based on, well not much. Except that he betrays his friends. Which no one effing knows until it happens so

Why is this his personality? He wasn’t as good at classes, maybe. He’s nervous and a little twitchy, but Peter learned to be an Animagi just like James and Sirius. Peter helped with the map JUST LIKE THE REST OF THEM. Peter blew up an entire street and killed 12 people with a single spell. Peter was part of their core group, they needed him and loved him and QUITE LITERALLY TRUSTED HIM WITH THEIR LIVES.

Do you really think making him secret keeper was some off the cuff ‘haha yeah mate no one’ll expect PETER’ kind of shit? You think they didn’t take it seriously?? YOU THINK SIRIUS CHILLED IN AZKABAN FOR 12 YEARS WITH NOTHING BUT THIS BETRAYAL KEEPING HIM SANE BECAUSE ‘they just tolerated him’???

WHAT. I MEAN if he wanted to hate someone he could’ve stewed over SNAPE for 12 years. BUT NO. PETER. Because the betrayal was so much worse because they were FRIENDS. HE ACTUALLY SAYS IN THE BOOK THAT THEY ALL WOULD’VE DIED FOR PETER. Lily even calls him WORMY. Like, They were FAMILY you guys. oh my god.

AND NOT IMPORTANT?? bruh, lemme tell you a thing. The entire SERIES was set in motion by PETER and SNAPE. Without Snape to deliver the prophecy and ask LV to spare Lily, and Peter to give him their location.

NOT A SHIT THING WOULD’VE HAPPENED AND THE STORY WOULDN’T EXIST. Peter is important. And this isnt even going into the REST of the books, this is just PRE HP SERIES stuff. I sdkfmkfdfgmfg

I HAVE PETER FEELS. And honestly, Peter and Neville are absolutely parallels. And yall wouldn’t say Neville was a bumbling idiot people tolerate, even before he got BAMF. Neville is what Peter should’ve become if he hadn’t given into fear. If being in gryffindor had actually made him brave like it was meant to.
