evolve photography

Some wants needs for the characters of Degrassi: Next Class in seasons five and six (don’t read this if you haven’t seen season four and don’t want any spoilers).

Frankie

  • For us to see her take counselling sessions on her self esteem issues and finally dig deep within herself.
  • No boy drama. The only story line she’s had within this whole series that doesn’t revolve around her love life (off the top of my head) was when she got called out for being racist, and even that was intertwined with her Jonah plot in some ways. She needs something more to become likable.

Esme

  • Seeing her steps towards recovery.
  • Seeing her actually have a real friend for once. It’d be cool if she connected with a new student or someone we haven’t gotten to know enough (special shout outs to Rasha or Vijay) and they inspired her to work on herself and be kinder. She just needs someone in her corner.
  • Her academic life could be interesting, given her intelligence. Maybe if she joined a club of some sort and we saw her put time into that.

Yael

  • Watching how people outside of their immediate friend group react to their identity and pronouns. Family members, teachers, new students.

Lola

  • She and Saad need to stay together forever.
  • It’d be cool to see her maybe discover she’s pansexual while still with Saad. A story line like that could show how normal it is to realize different elements of your sexuality while in a relationship and how that doesn’t have to break it up.
  • Continuing to see her play the supportive role in her friendships with others. She’s amazing at that.
  • Only positive things are allowed to happen to her in the future.

Shay

  • A plot where she gets an injury that puts her track career in jeopardy would be interesting, since that seems to be her only plan and she hasn’t had many good story lines anyway.

Rasha

  • She and Zoë need to stay together forever.
  • I’m satisfied seeing her play the supportive role, she just needs a new close friend or friends to take Goldi’s place (special shout outs to Lola, Saad, and Baaz). She could easily get along with almost everyone.
  • It’d be great to be properly introduced to her family or friends from back home (outside of the ex with bad breath).
  • Only positive things are allowed to happen to her in the future.

Saad

  • He and Lola need to stay together forever. Yes, twice.
  • Like Rasha, more on his family life would be great.
  • Seeing him continue to recover from trauma back home in counselling sessions, how his photography evolves, those sorts of things.
  • Only positive things are allowed to happen to him in the future. The boy has had enough.

Hunter

  • How his friendship with Yael progresses.
  • Someone to read him for filth the way Santana did with Kurt, just for the fun of it.

Baaz

  • Oh gosh.
  • Something needs to happen for this boy.
  • He has the least to work with.
  • Okay, maybe seeing him get a job or get into a relationship with a really interesting, new character.
  • It would be cool to see him more as a brother if it weren’t for Goldi being gone. So Baaz doing some babysitting work wouldn’t be terrible.

Vijay

  • Aside from seeing him as a supportive friend, it could be cool to see him join student council. Maybe even as president?
  • Seeing him in a relationship that’s not pointless like the one he was in with Tristan would be nice.

Abra

  • The ideas fans have had based around her pursuing modeling are brilliant. Nothing to add.

Future Characters (not confirmed or implied; they’d just be interesting to see)

  • A main character with one of their senses lost, since that’s not too common on television.
  • A transgender character who, unlike Adam, transitions after being introduced to the show (maybe beginning it a season after we first meet them).
  • An asexual character.
  • A healthy polyamorous relationship that’s not what they did with Esme/Frankie/Zig or what they tried to do with Jack and Imogen.
Things that I want to happen in Degrassi Next Class Seasons 5-6 (Don’t read if you haven’t seen Season 4)

Frankie

  • (Someone else also said these things. But I agree with them.) Enough of the boy drama. Give her redeemable and likable plots. The last plot she had that wasn’t about boy/relationship drama was in Season 14.
  • Make her likable and redeemable. I really loved her before Season 2, but she just got more and more annoying during Season 2.
  • Have her take counselling. Her first three years were a mess for her and I feel like she’s sort of mentally unstable right now.
  • More Esme and Frankie! Whether it’s romantic or friendly, I love there chemistry and I love how Frankie cares for Esme so much.

Hunter

  • Also like Frankie, make him redeemable and likable. He’s been an ass for the past four seasons. I don’t know what else I want to happen for him.

Lola

  • More Saad/Lola. They also have great chemistry and are super cute together. Also make it endgame.
  • Maybe discover that she’s pansexual.
  • Other then that, I want her to stay the same sweetheart that she is.

Shay

  • I want her and Tiny to still be together, just long distance relationship.
  • Also (someone else also said this) a plot where she gets an injury that puts her track career in jeopardy. That would be interesting to watch.

Baaz

  • I want him to have a plot away from his squad.
  • His promo description when he debuted was being methodical, hypothetical, calculated,  and ambitious. Maybe give him a plot that actually ties into those traits.
  • I want another plot of his to tie into ‘letting logic get in the way of emotional connections’.
  • Get him away from Hunter and maybe Vijay for a little bit.
  • Grow up.

Yael

  • I want to see more of their gender identity plot that started in Season 4.
  • (Someone else wrote this) Watching how people outside of their immediate friend group react to their identity and pronouns. Family members, teachers, new students.

Vijay

  • Have him stop hanging out with Baaz and Hunter. They are a shit influence on him.
  • I would love for him to have a plot based around his sexuality and him finding a healthy non-pointless relationship.
  • Him joining the Student Council would be cool.

Saad

  • More Saad/Lola. They also have great chemistry and are super cute together. Also make it endgame.
  • More of his home/family life
  • (Someone else wrote this)  Seeing him continue to recover from trauma back home in counselling sessions, how his photography evolves, those sorts of things
  • Let him be happy.

Rasha

  • More of her home/family life,
  • Let Zasha be endgame!!
  • I would love to see her befriend Lola, Baaz, Saad, Vijay, and/or Yael.

Esme

  • I would love to see her recover.
  • Let the poor girl be happy.
  • More Esme and Frankie! Whether it’s romantic or friendly, I love there chemistry and I love how Frankie cares for Esme so much.
  • Maybe have her befriend Rasha and/or Lola too.
  • I want to see her academic career. We’ve heard and seen she’s intelligent. We need more of her academic career.

Future Characters (Not canon, just things I’d like to see)

  • Make Abra a main character. I have no idea on what I want for her. But maybe have a modeling career plot. Also I would like to see her slowly loose her innocence.
  • I want to see a character that either has autism or Aspergers or ADHD, and struggles with it at first.
  • I want more POC in the main cast.
  • I feel like it would be nice to have a girl who is fat and insecure about it to the point where she starts starving herself. But after that experience, she learns to love herself and take better care of herself. Similar to Terri (who didn’t starve herself) who was very insecure about her weight and become sort of a burden.
  • An asexual character.
  • A healthy poly relationship.
  • More characters who are in the LGBTQ+
  • A character who has severe anxiety and PTSD.

Frogfish are a type of anglerfish that often use aggressive mimicry to resemble a potential meal for its prey while also concealing itself from predators. Frogfish rarely swim but prefer to walk along the ocean floor using their pelvic and pectoral fins.

Kim Deng is a certified geek. For someone who entered science competition during his school days and said if he’s not an artist he might be a mechanic or work in technical area I’m not surprised that Deng loves sport cars, motorbikes, photography, gundam and toy figures.
I told before that I’m going to rewatch Deng’s ILA episodes and I did with my hawk eyes mode on. I spotted his old rc helicopter, it looks a bit like the rc helicopter for his RC KOREA photoshoot back in 2002 but the size is smaller. Now Kim Deng love for rc helicopter and photography evolving to drone/helicam. Deng crashed his first drone and I’m not sure if it’s still okay because I only saw his 3DR Solo in Japan and new year episodes. Kim Deng is rich, he can donate ₩40,000,000 from his Sleepover concert, buying another drone won’t hurt his bank account, lol.

PHOTOGRAPHY: Hasselblad Masters - Evolve by Bara Prasilova

“Through photography, I try to understand human relationships and connections. Using invisible threads, we either bind someone to us, or drive them away. Threads of our feelings, anxieties, and fears, which, like our hair, we are afraid to let loose,” says Bara Prasilova in offering a key to decipher her brilliant ‘Evolve’ series.

Honoring Classic Japanese Facades with @twinleaves

To see more photos of classic Japanese facades taken by Hitoshi, follow @twinleaves on Instagram.

(This interview was conducted in Japanese.)

For Hitoshi Kobayashi (@twinleaves) from Tokyo, Japan, the sceneries that excite his photographic endeavors are not the urban landscape or the modern architecture found inside the city center, but rather the decades-old stores and houses which he discovers in suburban neighborhoods. “I’ve just been capturing whatever that catches my attention in the streets, but come to think of it, I think I’m naturally drawn to things that tell stories about people’s lives,” he says.

“Timeworn buildings, overused dustpans and even small inventions like attaching a broken door with a string — these are the kinds of things that I find fascinating,” explains Hitoshi. “The areas I like to go to are restaurant alleys in provincial cities. Old onsen [hot springs] towns are filled with retro, too.”

Over time, his photography has evolved from snapping nostalgic moments to capturing straight facades of aged buildings. “The appearance of the facade changes even with the slightest trim,” he reveals. “It takes forever for me to walk through an old town — because when I’m walking, my eyes and head are so busy trying to trim the reality in front of me.”

One Year

I’m writing this on the 19th, probably one of the last days I’m going to be emotionally stable enough to think and type without my emotions and grief clouding my words.

Okay, that’s a lie, today…things started to go downhill. It’s just going to get worse  in the days leading to February 1st.

this is being posted on the 21st - the day of the last conversation I had with Monty. We were discussing Daniel and I moving down to Austin, where to look, our budget…things like that. The conversation itself was still on his computer screen on the 1st. That…was rough.

If me talking about Monty is some sort of trigger, don’t read past this.
