All Evidence That Could Possibly Indicate Trans Girl Marco #37
*Marco explicitly refers to herself as a girl, again - Season 2, episode 19* Relevance Level: 11 Explanation: Whelp it fucking happened. Marco is now as close to an explicitly confirmed transgender character in a kids show that there has ever been. She set up (or agreed to) a fucking merchandise line where she’s a girl, a main villain thinks of her as a girl and uses she/her pronouns and is never corrected, she refers to herself as a girl, she likes to think she’s pretty. She’s being threatened here but look how happy she is.
Maybe Marco will never be confirmed, 100% canon, maybe Disney will never allow it. But nevertheless there she is. There she is for young girls to see, telling young girl’s that she may be silenced but she still exists, telling young girls that’s it’s OK, ya girl Marco’s got your back.
Look, I’m not gonna act like there weren’t problems. There was too much going on in the small timespace they had to really flesh out everything they wanted to, and the season really suffered for that. At face value, this season was weak and, for most people, failed to meet the expectations left over from the amazing production of Season 1.
But it wasn’t meant to meet those expectations in the first place.
As some people have pointed out, Season 1 was meant to take place over the course of a longer time period than Season 2. Season 1 was introductory, it was meant to set up the characters, the premise, and the villains. And it delivered. The story took place over the course of 1-2 months, and the worldbuilding was kept to a minimum in order to place a focus on the characters.
Season 2? This was meant to expand the universe. It was meant to explore different species and planets, as well as give us insight to rebel groups formed from Galra and connect them to those key aspects of our main characters. They also tried to carry this out over what can amount to no more than 2 weeks within the universe.
How are you supposed to meet those expectations when premise of these seasons aren’t meant to be similar in any remote aspect? What relationships between characters are supposed to develop within two weeks? Season 2 wasn’t supposed to flesh out every character and work through their relationships with the rest of the team. They didn’t have the time.
Instead, Season 2 took a different route.
It laid the building blocks for the seasons to follow, and made sure to connect them properly. It’s primary focus was to introduce new worlds and emphasize Shiro’s connection to the black lion, and it made sure to focus on that because he would be gone by the end of the season. It set up Keith to take Shiro’s place if anything were to happen to him, but it made sure to emphasize Keith’s connection with the Red Lion as well, in order to make the audience wonder whether or not a switch would actually take place.
The Keith & Allura development was weak here because it was only meant to serve as the starting point for what is meant to be an important arc between the two of them (Shiro was the closest with both of them, after all). The season left hints to Lance’s insecurities because they’re meant to be explored more in correlation to Shiro having wanted Keith to lead Voltron, and Keith potentially wanting to pass that torch to Allura instead. And, although it was very subtle, there was some implications that if they had actually been successful in their battle with Zarkon, Hunk may not know whether or not he wanted to remain on Earth after he returned.
I have my problems with this season, too. There was much that could have been taken out or rearranged in a way that would have been much more satisfying, and frankly, may have served as better foundation for the next season. But that isn’t my point. My point is that despite the flaws and misdirection at times, this season laid the foundation for what’s to come, and plans to connect everything.
We just have to be willing to give it the time this season lacked.
This picture uploaded by Jeremy of the exhibition of Miraculous toys (and presumably Zak Storm: Super Pirate toys, which is great if true) from the NY Toy Fair includes a lot of fun things. Dolls for Alya, Chloé, their superhero forms, and Manon/Puppeteer are in the works, more kwami plushes are coming (I can see Wayzz, Nooroo, and the bee kwami), and new outfitted dolls are being made for Marinette/Ladybug!
However, the big detail for me is Fox!Alya. Both she and Chloé’s superhero forms are displayed with the toys as cutouts, and if you look closely at Alya’s cutout, you can see she has a ponytail and a bit of white on her mask. This design of her head matches up with the ZAG Heroez icon we saw of her a while back.
In other words, Alya’s Fox Miraculous transformed form is confirmed to have a ponytail and an orange/white mask with a black spot over each eye!
I know I’m stretching for answers right now, you don’t need to tell me. This is just a theory I came up with, I know none of it is true. So I’m sure by now (If you were at the livestream), you heard him talk about his ‘Upcoming Video’ If not, here’s what he said.
He says ‘It’s a big deal, also not’ as if it was some sort of announcement. He’s already stated that he was pansexual, so it can’t be a ‘coming out’ video. But maybe he might announce his relationship with Phil. That’s very unlikely, I know, but still. And he states ‘I don’t know if I’m ready’. I don’t personally think think any of this is relevant lol. But you can reblog and add something of your own if you want. <3
Update: You all seemed confused about when dan exactly said he was pan, so there you go :P
In August 1971 in Bélmez, Spain a woman and her grandchild noticed something strange on the kitchen floor of their home. Imprinted on the floor appeared a face. The face appeared sad and troubled. When the family tried to rub it out the face only appeared sadder, and the eyes widened. Disturbed, the home owner had the floor removed and a new concrete one replaced it. Three weeks after the first incident, another face appeared on the floor.
As word began to spread of the strange phenomena the local authorities started to take interest. They had the section of the floor where the faces were removed. As the dug under the floor they uncovered human remains. The skeletons dated back to the 13th century, and some were even decapitated. As the discovery was made four more faces appeared in the floor. The skeletons were removed and buried in a local cemetery. The floor was then covered in cloth and wax as a local notary oversaw. Three months later the wax was removed and the faces had changed positions. The faces continued to appear until the residents moved out of the home.
