everything is second to your dreams

You are the books you read, the films you watch, the music you listen to, the people you meet, the dreams you have, and the conversations you engage in. You are what you take from these. You are the sound of the ocean, breath of the fresh air, the brightest light and the darkest corner. You are a collective of every experience you have had in your life. You are every single second of every day. So drown yourself in a sea of knowledge and existence. Let the words run through your veins and the colors fill your mind until there is nothing left to do but explode, There are no wrong answer. Inspiration is everything. Sit back, relax, and take it all in.

This isn’t about the Ravens. This is about you. This is about everything it took you to get to this point, everything it cost you, and everyone who laughed when you dared to dream of something big and bright. You’re here tonight because you refused to give up and refused to give in. You’re here where they all said you’d never be, and no one can say you haven’t earned the right to play this game. All eyes are on you. It’s time to show them what you’re made of. There’s no room for doubt, no room for second guesses, no room for error. This is your night. This is your game. This is your moment. Seize it with everything you’ve got. Pull out all the stops and lay it all on the line. Fight because you don’t know how to die quietly. Win because you don’t know how to lose.

I have lots of things to teach you now, in case we ever meet, concerning the message that was transmitted to me under a pine tree in North Carolina on a cold winter moonlit night. It said that Nothing Ever Happened, so don’t worry. It’s all like a dream. Everything is ecstasy, inside. We just don’t know it because of our thinking-minds. But in our true blissful essence of mind is known that everything is alright forever and forever and forever. Close your eyes, let your hands and nerve-ends drop, stop breathing for 3 seconds, listen to the silence inside the illusion of the world, and you will remember the lesson you forgot, which was taught in immense milky way soft cloud innumerable worlds long ago and not even at all. It is all one vast awakened thing. I call it the golden eternity. It is perfect. We were never really born, we will never really die. It has nothing to do with the imaginary idea of a personal self, other selves, many selves everywhere: Self is only an idea, a mortal idea. That which passes into everything is one thing. It’s a dream already ended. There’s nothing to be afraid of and nothing to be glad about. I know this from staring at mountains months on end. They never show any expression, they are like empty space. Do you think the emptiness of space will ever crumble away? Mountains will crumble, but the emptiness of space, which is the one universal essence of mind, the vast awakenerhood, empty and awake, will never crumble away because it was never born.
The world you see is just a movie in your mind. Rocks don’t see it. Bless and sit down. Forgive and forget. Practice kindness all day to everybody and you will realize you’re already in heaven now. That’s the story. That’s the message. Nobody understands it, nobody listens, they’re all running around like chickens with heads cut off. I will try to teach it but it will be in vain, s'why I’ll end up in a shack praying and being cool and singing by my woodstove making pancakes.

This king’s ruled long enough—it’s time to tear his castle down.”

I. THE BIGGEST LIE YOU’VE EVER TOLD
It starts like this:
a dull roar. Everything is amplified,
all freckles, all teeth. You look at him;
the world forgets to turn.
It’s hesitant at first, it’s not quite love,
not even quite like. His hands jut out like
something holy though,
something you know you could revere.

II. SECOND SECRET
Dreams are tangible things, until they’re held
in a palm.
Unreality to reality. Maybe dreamers are weapons,
but their dreams are not. Your sweetest ones are about
fingers in mouths, kisses on cheeks.
Your nightmares are about losing him,
and a hand falling through yours,
disappeared.

III. TWO GODS IN THIS CHURCH
Churches are meant for worship, so you kneel.
Your mouth was destined for filth & curse words, but you pray,
your voice soft against the stained-glass ceilings.
You look at him;
he looks back, eyes glancing off and away.
You’d devour him if you could.
(He thinks the same.)

IV. THE OCEAN BURNED
Here, the world stops.
Dream comes alive, touch to touch,
hand in hand, light alight. You hurl thoughts
of happiness through your subconscious. You didn’t know
you were capable of such a thing, but you are, and
so is he.
Here, the world is all light and love. Just mouths, no teeth.
Just touch, no consequences.

You fall asleep and for once, your dream is on the pillow next to you,
both laid bare.

Imagine Minhyuk as your roommate
  • Loud mornings
  • Loud afternoons
  • Loud evenings
  • Whenever he’d come back from errands or work or something, his mouth would be running the second he steps through the door, telling you everything that happened during his day
  • If he gets a bad dream, he will slip under your covers and snuggle. You don’t even jump in surprise because you’re used to it
  • Picking up all the trash everywhere it would be everywhere
  • And you’d scold him to clean up after himself and he’d pout and say sorry and you’d feel bad because the puppy face dammit lee minhyuk
  • He insists on having a “roommate day out” usually on saturdays where you both go out so you can “bond more”, as he puts it
  • “Minhyuk, we don’t have to. You literally sleep in my bed when you have nightm-”
  • “ShhHHHhh bonds can never be broken, y/n.”
  • He’d bring home so many stray cats and puppies and asks if he could keep them in the apartment
  • And you have to break his heart every time and say no
  • So he resorts to sneaking them into the apartment and hiding them from you
  • And you have a heart attack every month or so when you hear barking from behind the shower curtains

You were everything to him.

From your smile to your personality and to your beauty, every single thing about you was perfect to him. It was like you had a spell on him. He became enraptured by you in a matter of seconds. You were the dream girl he never thought he’d ever see in his whole lifetime. He didn’t think a girl in his fantasies would ever appear in front of him just like that. But fortunately for him it happened anyway.

advice for students
  1. homesickness is normal, natural, and won’t ever ‘go away’ but will ease with time. it’s normal to feel quite blue and gloomy for even the entirety of your first (and second!) year - everything in your life has changed, and things may not be living up to your dreams. that’s okay.
  2. don’t expect yourself to leave university the same person you went in as. allow yourself the space to change; throw out all preconceptions you have about who you are and allow yourself to explore different ways of being.
  3. make the most of all the opportunities on offer! you will never again have so much free time and flexibility in your schedule, even when you feel overworked and like you have no free time at all. university is not just about academics. try new things - lots of things! - and don’t assume you will or won’t like something before you try it out. don’t waste your time with things you don’t enjoy; drop ‘em and try something new!
  4. use the careers service and resources from your very first term. three/four years will fly by far quicker than you anticipate, so plan ahead to use your holidays wisely. see point 2, however, and remember to keep your options open and allow yourself to change career track. just because you wanted to be a lawyer when you started doesn’t mean you have to be a lawyer after you graduate.
  5. be polite to the porters, security, maintenance, and admin staff. they are never paid enough to put up with all the stupid shit students put them through, and they are the very foundation of your university experience. appreciate them, smile, say thank you, make requests politely, and don’t ignore them. (similarly: be polite to emergency services personnel, taxi drivers, bus drivers, the bin men, etc. Just be polite and respectful, damn it!)
  6. get outside the university bubble, and engage in the local community. volunteer, get a job, join a church, get involved in local politics - whatever you choose, it acts as a great reality check when university life gets overwhelming. if you volunteer, it also acts as a great source of perspective when you get stressed about assessments. remember that life exists outside of university.
  7. even if you’re one of those lucky students who gets their cooking and cleaning done for them (looking at you, oxbridge kids!), learn how to cook, clean, and generally be a functional adult. this is not optional. it’s not cute to have a 21yo who cannot take basic care of themself and their home.
  8. at the same time, cut yourself some slack! university life is hectic, unpredictable, and trying to juggle everything means that sometimes the hoovering has to fall by the wayside. keep things hygienic, be considerate of those you live with, wear clean clothes - but don’t pressure yourself to have everything spotless. if it’s a toss-up between cleaning the bathroom and finishing an assignment, the assignment should come first!
  9. manage your money. MANAGE YOUR GODDAMNED MONEY. £3k does NOT go as far as you might think, and unexpected costs will always occur when you have the least money to deal with them. draw up some spreadsheets, use them, and definitely do not blow all your cash in your first term. living in your overdraft is NOT cute or necessary.
  10. a list of things you do not have to do: drink, go clubbing, have sex, date the first person who’s interested in you, do drugs, smoke, live in the library, pull all-nighters, live off take-out and cereal, stay friends with the people you clung to in freshers’ week, get involved in student politics, go on expensive trips, find your best friends for life, live with people just because you’re friends, do every single piece of reading, work yourself into the ground, compromise your values in order to be liked, pretend to be somebody you’re not, throw all caution to the wind and behave irresponsibly, and anything you don’t feel will truly enrich your life or the lives of others around you.
Please don’t spend your days worrying that no one will ever love you. One day you will wake up next to the person you never dreamed would come along and be happier than you ever thought possible. Someone who will kiss the wounds from your past and trace over your scars without giving it a second thought. You’ll have everything you want - everything you need - and you’ll wonder why you ever doubted that this could happen to you.
MASS EFFECT ANDROMEDA PREDICTIONS
  1. you start game and you make your character and your sibling and your dad just changes skin color and hair color to match kind of like fallout 3 dad
  2. for “reasons,” your sibling is going to be a plot device for at least half of the game (probably stuck in the cryosleep or w/e the crew gets put in)
  3. the dad is going to die. i mean, come on. either that or he gets injured or kidnapped or taken out of the picture altogether. his last words are all “BE THE PATHFINDER”
  4. the first party member you get is “good man guy™”
  5. the second member you get is “chick with balls of steel™”
  6. then you’re stuck with those two until you have some sort of REALLY IMPORTANT THING that causes you to run into the rest of your party along the way: quirky manic pixie dream girl™, seasoned veteran hardass guy™, maverick with a heart of gold™, and the outsider™
  7. THE BIG QUEST that sets everything in motion is gonna require FOUR THINGS™ all inconveniently located on separate planets
  8. the second to last thing is gonna trigger a bad event that causes your team to get kidnapped/trapped and you must find a way to get back on track
  9. you know you’re at the end of the game because your LOVE INTEREST finally decides to let you ride the booty
  10. SHIT GOES DOWN without any time to smoke a cig after playing the fiddle that is sweet sweet sexual magic
  11. like at least 3 fights in succession and then the last fight is sort of lame but the ending is bombastic
  12. BUT ITS NOT OVER YET!!! :OOO

Jackson Imagine - Losing You

A/N - Requested by an anon~ I really enjoyed writing this one so keep sending me your requests everyone!

(Y/N)!” Jackson shouted, bolting upright after waking from his nightmare. Sweat beaded on his forehead and his breathing was heavy. You immediately woke up at the sound of his voice calling your name and you were crouched next to him within seconds. The two of you were sleeping on the sofas in your living room, too tired to go upstairs after a long night of watching movies.
“Jackson, is everything okay?” He didn’t reply and just pulled you into his grasp. His arms were tight around you and he rocked you slightly, as if he were cradling something precious.

You stayed there in his arms for a few minutes before slowly pulling away and looking at his tear-stained face.
“Bad dream?” Jackson nodded in response.
“Want to talk about it?” He hesitated this time before nodding slowly. He took a few deep breaths before talking. “I lost you.”
“You lost me? What?”
“The dream, nightmare, whatever you want to call it. It was just a regular dream and we were…hanging out and then the next thing I know is you are dying and…” Jackson’s voice cracked as tears collected in his eyes again at having to relive it.
“Oh, Jackson. it’s okay. I’m okay, it was just a dream. I’m not going anywhere.” This time it was your turn to cradle Jackson in your arms as you comforted him. You both sat in silence, your hand gently rubbing his back.
“Why don’t we go upstairs and sleep in my bed? That way if you have the nightmare again, I’m right there for you.” You gave him a soft smile as he nodded at your suggestion.

Both of you were tired and just wanted to sleep. You had shared a bed before and since you were good friends, today was no different. You both got in and Jackson’s arms snaked around your waist. He usually wasn’t so clingy whenever you shared a bed but for obvious reasons, tonight was an exception.
“Goodnight, Jackson,” you whispered, giving him a gentle kiss on the forehead before allowing your body to drift away into sleep. He whispered a “goodnight” back before also letting his body succumb to sleep beside you.

Plot: after 4 years of university, you and your boyfriend are finally ready to move into the big city.

Notes: nobody really asked for this, I kind of got this idea on my own thinking about moving out of my dad’s house LMAO. no warnings for this one, maybe some fluff but it isn’t as fluffy as it could’ve been. Enjoy!

You were pretty lucky to have snagged a scholarship into your university of choice in Japan. You had always been interested in the language and the culture and you had always craved something different.  After staying in your hometown for entirely too long, a start over is exactly what you needed.

In the Fall of 2012, you made your big move from your hometown all the way to Japan and everything went almost like a dream. You were learning the language at a fast rate, making plenty of friends and you couldn’t be happier.

Around your second year of attending, a friend of yours had finally introduced you to the schools best soccer player after hearing about him for so long. He was a little too blunt for your taste at first, you remembered him pointing out that your eyeliner was smudged and you pointed out that his hair looked terrible out of spite.

Black and White Soulmate!AU - Calum 5SOS

Everyone knows the story, when you meet your soulmate and lock eyes, everything turns bright and colorful. Your entire life you dreamed of what things would be like when you met your soulmate. Would it be a rush of colors? Would it just be a slow fade into a beautiful shower of colors? What would your soulmate look like in color? What would you look like in color? Would blue really be as pretty as your friends said it was? Was there more to life besides the dull grays you saw everyday?

It’s as simple as this, you do what you want, as long as it comes in society’s font. I’m talking about New Times Roman, no Comic Sans because loves only reserved between a woman and a man. No takesies-backsies, no second chances, through your fingers opportunity dances.

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I don’t know if I want to hold her, but it’s too late to decide because I’ve been dictated to keep my pride, told that being this different is a reason to be scared and not to follow those who have dared - dared to love and dared to fight, each day dreaming of the day all would be right.

Everything is thrust upon us, a storm of lies thunders in, as we stand here just trying to get by. We keep our heads up though they push us down, just for calling it bi; they have limited love to a black and white, a this or that, we have no option but to fight.

And if we damn well dare attempt to lash out, we’ll have a lot more to answer for, no more time to hang about. It’s death, it’s trial, it’s shame and denial; a family broken, and for miles and miles, it’s just you alone and they don’t even know that while you wonder your legs begin to feel slow; and if love is illegal, then what’s the point, you’ll just be left, another anointed person to carry out traditional love coupled with condition.

The horizon has shrunk, the red has faded, the earth in bright contrast to its people so jaded. And I believe the world is changing, that the ones uniting as a nation, are teaching the world of old anew, that no matter what, there is love for you.

do you ever just stop and think about how jimin chose the song little star as the song that fit taehyung the best?

do you ever think about how taehyung posted a video of him singing it later?

do you ever stop and think about the lyrics?

these amazing and loving lyrics that jimin chose:

Close your eyes and listen carefully to my story
Before my story ends, you will dream
Little star tonight
All night, I will watch over you

When I first met you, it was truly eye-blinding
When I first saw your smile, I felt like I had the whole world
Little star tonight
All night, I will watch over you

When I see you fast asleep in my arms
I can’t take my eyes off you for a second
You’re so pretty – I feel like my breath will stop
How can I fall asleep?

My love, my everything, my angel from heaven
My two eyes, my world – you stole them all
Little star tonight
All night, I will watch over you

When I see you fast asleep in my arms
I can’t take my eyes off you for a second
You’re so pretty – I feel like my breath will stop
How can I fall asleep?

Close your eyes and listen carefully to my story
Before my story ends, you will dream
Little star tonight
All night, I will watch over you

My love tonight
All night, I will watch over you
Forever, I will watch over you

do you ever think about how much jimin and taehyung care for each other?

Inevitable heartbreak

I’ve given you myself in its entirety

Allowing my undisguised soul utterly susceptible to deceit

Delusional aspirations of the passionate man I once knew have now taken my sanity

Replaced with venomous words that so gingerly roll off your tongue

Tears that once followed the parasite that now becomes you cease to exist

As if they have drifted into an ocean made of everything I thought you were

but I am unable to see you for who you’ve shown yourself to be

I stay blinded by the man who was once able to steal my heart in a mere blink of an eye

the second his eyes met mine, I could see my heaven

not the religious after life, but a world I dreamed of as a young girl

a place where I would exist with a man whose spirit would take away any pain I felt

not only in the past, but make sadness and heartbreak nonexistent in my future

and indeed for a moment we were infinite

And then he emerged into the devil himself bringing only darkness into my world

Leaving my heaven on earth into a dark world in which I am hopelessly screaming for god

Ask me stuff

I’m really bored, I’ll answer everything truthfully.
