Okay, okay. Last picture. But how great is her curtain fabric?
I love that it’s total girl without being prissy. Kind of exactly like my daughter.
I never want her to feel like it’s bad to be a girl while at the same time not wanting everything to be pink and glittery. She can love pink, she can love glitter but I never want her to think that’s all she can love. Or that it’s wrong if she doesn’t love those things. Or that it’s wrong to love those things.
I’m not explaining well at all…but basically when we talk about gender neutral things so often what that means are things that can appeal to boys.
But I want her to love whatever it is that she love simply because she loves it.
So a girl, in the forest, communing with animals, reading maps? Perfect.
“Try it again,“ I said. "Kiss me.”
“No,” he said.
“No,” And then he smiled. “You kiss me.” I placed my hand on the back of his neck. I pulled him toward me. And kissed him. I kissed him. And I kissed him. And I kissed him. And I kissed him. And he kept kissing me back.”
