everyone needs to see this film

I have removed the original content of this post because I’m tired of people who are literally just looking for a fight going through the tags and digging up a post I wrote almost TWO YEARS AGO.

I apologize if my excitement for the film offended anyone or… everyone. I haven’t blogged about this film since 2015 specifically because I did not want to offend people. If you don’t want to see the film, don’t see it. If you do, do.

I will say though that I will still be going to see this film, in the hopes that it shines a positive light on Mexico, its people, and its culture in a time when that light is sorely needed in the United States.

VALENTINE’S INSPIRED MEMES
  • “He loves me, he loves me not… oh.”
  • “She loves me, she loves me not… oh.”
  • “I don’t think it’s love…”
  • “So, is there anyone you’re secretly crushing on?”
  • “I don’t even like chocolate.”
  • “Yeah, nothing says ‘I love you’ more than a bouquet that’ll die in two days…”
  • “I’m not sure if they’re a secret admirer or a stalker… but at least they have good taste in gifts.”
  • “Oh! It’s my favourite time of year.”
  • “If I send a mass text to all the people I like, I don’t need to get all of them gifts do I?”
  • “I’ve never had a Valentine.”
  • “Will you be my Valentine?”
  • “Do you have a Valentine yet?”
  • “No one ever serenades me any more.”
  • “Just don’t write a song and play it in front of everyone again… it’s embarrassing.”
  • “Any secret admirers?”
  • “Oh, so you’re my secret admirer?”
  • “I may have been admiring you not so secretly.”
  • “Just because you like me doesn’t mean the feeling is mutual.”
  • “Seeing as we’ve both not got anyone, do you want to come to mine and watch a film?
  • "We’re never getting back together.”
  • “So, he got me a teddy bear, but we fought and he tore off it’s head.”
  • “How about instead of being ridiculous on one day of the year, you just be a decent partner for the other 364 days?!”
  • “We’re not together any more.”
  • “If you haven’t booked a table we definitely won’t get to eat there on such short notice.”
  • “It’s just Valentine’s day… I don’t see the big deal.”
  • “What do you mean you didn’t get me anything?”
  • “I’m feeling sick, is it okay if we arrange our date for another night?”
  • “I’m not sure if they’re a secret admirer or a stalker….”
  • “Well… they don’t know I’m going out with you so we’re going to have a girls night sitting in and cry about being single…”
  • “I’ve got the lube and strawberries, we’re all set!”
  • “I got out the whipped cream and she slammed the door in my face.”
  • “I am not wearing that.”
  • “When he said he would give me a pearl necklace, I thought I was getting actual jewelry.”
  • “It would have been a lot more romantic if you de-thorned the rose before you put it in your mouth…”
  • “I’m all for dressing up… but, how do you wear this?”
  • “If I see another couple holding hands, I’ll… I’ll-”
  • “Young love, isn’t it sweet?”
  • “Who did you get all these roses for?”
  • “I don’t love you, I’m just here for the chocolate.”
  • “So, let me get this right, you want me to be a stand in to make the person you like jealous?”
  • “Valentines? Pft!”
  • “That’s the least romantic thing anyone has ever said to me…”
  • “What are you doing? Why are you on one knee? Get up! Get up!”
  • “My mum gave me a rose because she felt sorry for me.”
  • “Look, you can buy me all the chocolates in the world, I still won’t go out with you.”
  • “A diamond ring? I appreciate the offer… but don’t you think this is a bit… excessive?”

8 reasons why you should watch Sense8

[READ ON MEDIUM FOR A BETTER LAYOUT AND VIDEOS]

Most people probably know by now that Sense8 fans just pulled off the impossible and brought the ridiculously expensive and technical/organizational nightmare that is this show back from the death for a 2 hour special.

We believe we can get more than that, so does Lana Wachowski, creator of the show, who wrote: ‘It’s my great pleasure (…) to announce that there will be another two hour special released next year. After that… if this experience has thought me anything, you NEVER know

Netflix says it needs a bigger audience to be profitable, I’m here to fix that problem, here’s why you need to watch Sense8:

Look I got a gun out there in my purse. And up till now I’ve been forgivin’ and forgettin’ because of the way I was brought up. But I tell you one thing - if you ever say another word about me or make another indecent proposal, I’m gonna get that gun of mine. And I’m gonna change you from a rooster to a hen with one shot! Don’t think I can’t do it!

Guess who’s back! Me!) And I am so glad to draw my suffragettes again.

but!

I think that soon I will draw more Lapis and Peridot humans, because I like any different AU with them. Some ideas are really curious, interesting and unusual… (actually, I’ve read two fanfics and both of them kinda explore my mind. But the first one is really-really violent. I didn’t expect that i will read it. But I did and loved it.)

I’ve never draw violence, and I will not, but I want to draw some touching and romantic scene from it. They were so natural!

but suffragettes will come again)

And the last warning for this day I wanted to say. Maybe I will be late with posting my sketches because of my short film. I need to work a lot for the good graduating.

Thank you everyone for likes, reposts and following me!) I hope I will draw better day by day and you’ll see my progress) Have a nice day!

Wonder Woman is such a good movie. I think people in general have come to the consensus that it is currently the saving grace of the DCEU. But one question that’s still getting kicked around is “Is Wonder Woman (2017)  feminist?” It’s kind of an important question, given Wonder Woman’s role as a feminist icon over the years. But…it’s…kind of a hard question to answer? Let’s talk about it.

Allistic Privileges, Part 1:

Allistic privilege is:

-Being able to turn our stories into inspiration porn while us autistics try to say one word about how we see it and we’re told to shut up.

-Writing articles about a person you know who is autistic and being seen as having a more valid case than if an actual autistic person made the very same case except using first person POV.

-Not having to worry about whether you’re gonna be put under extended guardianship after you turn 18 or not and for how long and which rights you won’t have under it.

-Not having to worry about being told you don’t know better about your sexuality because of your neurotype.

-Being able to apply for summer jobs or jobs in general without worrying that you revealing your neurotype could decrease your chances of getting said job.

-Not having to worry about, if and when you get the job, being taken advantage of (longer hours, smaller pay) because of your neurotype.

-Not having to be put in social skills classes and being taught the same lessons over and over again each year.

-Not having to worry about being talked down to because of your neurotype.

-Not having to worry about sharing your feelings, especially anger, because you feel like people expect your neurotype to be a smol, innocent, sweet bean who never gets mad at anything and can’t defend themselves (BTW, if you see autistic people as what I just described, get the fuck off of my page right now).

-Being able to headcanon characters to make them more relatable to you and not having to worry about people hating on you for it because of your neurotype.

-Not having to worry about making social mistakes because of your neurotype.

-Not having to worry about if the education system actually helps you or not.

-Not having your neurotype being used as a slur or insult on the internet.

-Not having your neurotype be seen the same as mental retardation.

-Not being told to keep your hands quiet when you move them to keep focus and calm yourself.

-Not having to worry about if you’ll be murdered because of your neurotype.

-If the above phrase happens, your murderer won’t be let off because the murder was “an act of mercy” due to your neurotype.

-Not needing certain accomodations because of your neurotype. And not having to worry about being denied said accomodations.

-Not having to worry about having a meltdown and having a family member film it and post it on the internet for everyone to see because of your neurotype.

-If you’re trans, not having to worry about being told that “you don’t know better about what gender you are” because of your neurotype.

-Not having to worry about people talking about you behind your back because of your neurotype.

-Not having an entire organization advocate eugenics to get rid of people of your neurotype.

-Not having to worry about being told that your neurotype is caused by vaccines.

-Not having to worry about being institutionalized due to your neurotype.

-Your neurotype doesn’t come with function labels, which assume intelligence and competency.

-Not having to worry about being silenced because of your neurotype.

And if any allistics who find this get pissed at me for it because “It’s no big deal. Get over it” and “so-and-so isn’t a privilege” and “allistic privilege doesn’t exist,” then you’re only proving my point.

It’s funny, I didn’t really feel [some of the pressures of Hollywood] when I was younger. I feel it a bit now, and I could see a change when Hanna came out, because it was the first sort of commercial success I’d had, apart from Atonement, and I was very young then — a lot of that went over my head. Part of it was that I’d grown up outside L.A., so I wasn’t exposed to the competitive side of that world, where you feel like you have to do a thousand and one things in order to keep up with everyone else. I didn’t have that pressure of feeling like I needed to be exposed more or do a big studio film in order to get more work. It was down to the type of work I wanted to do. At the end of the day, it’s sort of like your portfolio. A piece of work is something you put time and hard work into, and you want to be able to stand next to it and say you really believed in it.

Reasons to go see the new Power Rangers movie

I’m a child of the 90′s. Power Rangers reigned supreme in my household when I was growing up. And when my brother, who is 9 years younger than me, started getting into Power Rangers, it was a way for us to bond. So obviously I was excited about the reboot.

Listen, I might be biased because of my nostalgia, but damn did I love this movie! Here’s why everyone should leave their house immediately and go watch this film.

1. Diverse Cast: I don’t really need to say it, but this cast is insanely diverse! So many different groups are represented in this movie! Every ranger is of a different ethnicity, which is acknowledged and appreciated by each member! And, beyond the surface differences that can be seen, there is an LGBTQ ranger and a ranger who is on the autism spectrum. One of my favorite parts is that we don’t need to speculate whether or not he might have special needs - he just comes right out and says it. “I’m on the spectrum…It’s a diagnosis.” And while he might have been protected a little more by the others, they didn’t try to baby him which is common for a lot of people who don’t often interact with people who have special needs. Instead, they utilized his strengths and worked with him to build his weaknesses.

2. Fantastic Acting: I gotta give a shout out to the actors who played the rangers. Holy cow, were y’all amazing! I’m honestly stunned with Becky G’s performance and how well she did, but that’s mostly because I haven’t followed her music career and seen what she can do. Girl, you were so good! And I believe that this was the first movie some of them have ever acted in. I’ll admit that the script was a little corny sometimes, but honestly it was 10X better than any script from the tv show, and the actors played them SO GOOD!!!!!

3. Great Chemistry: Some of these friendships felt so authentic and beautiful to me. A few interactions didn’t really excite me (Zack & Jason, mostly), but the rest of them held their own. Kimberly & Trini and Jason & Billy, for instance. The two girl rangers had such amazing chemistry together and every scene they did felt like they’d been friends their whole lives. There’s a lot of people shipping those two, but I’d be genuinely upset if anything less platonic happened between them. I just want Kimberly to be the girl friend that Trini comes to for girlfriend advice because their friendship is so great! Jason & Billy really were the BROTP of the movie though. The way Billy always looked to Jason for any minor thing had me laughing my ass off.

4. A Really Good Bad Guy: Anyone who’s ever seen the tv show knows that Rita Repulsa was kind of lame. She did the same thing every episode and hardly ever left her evil lair to do her own dirty work. Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa was actually kind of a scary bad guy. She wasn’t all talk, and the girl wasn’t afraid to get nasty. I can appreciate that in a villain.

5. Nostalgia: If you were also a big fan of the tv show, this movie has loads of amazing easter eggs for you! I was literally in the theater chanting “Megazord! Megazord! Megazord!” Not to mention Alpha’s “aye aye aye,” and the songs being played, and just ugh! My childhood heart was hurting.

Originally posted by originalyellowranger

6. Potential Sequel: The ending was set up for a sequel (wait for the credits and an extra scene will come) and honestly it has so much potential for what could come of the power rangers! I need it, and frankly, it hasn’t done that well at the box office so without your support there might not be a sequel at all!

All in all, this movie was really good and I would just love to share it with everyone and tell them to love it!

Come Home, Daddy

Characters: Jensen x Reader, OFC Daughter Emmarie

Warnings: fluff, with a teensy side of angst but not really

Word Count: 766

A/N: I’ve got the daddy! Jensen feels in a BAD way. Sorry. And honestly I’m avoiding writing OTHER things. So this just kind of came out of NOWHERE when I saw this gif in my inbox. It’s not the best I’ve done lately, but I’m trying to get back in a good writing habit. Suffer with me!

From the Makers of Sherlock

Just had the “Meet the Makers” panel with Mofftiss and Sue, which was kinda….anti-climactic? They were a bit more subdued, maybe because they took LIVE QUESTIONS randomly from the audience. They were aware that people suspected the questions were vetted to be softballs, so they went back to live, which yay them, I think it was brave. I’m not snarky here, I love and respect them for making Sherlock.

The only answers which were illuminating were 1) that season 4 was always going to be about Mary’s death, because John being a widower is an important part of canon, so she has to go. Thus the series became about grief. How John handled it, how Sherlock handled it. paraphrasing here, because they loved Mary so much.

Two, as Steven put it, you shine a light where you want it, you don’t paint the whole backdrop. Meaning, what they left out of the story doesn’t matter. This arose when a girl asked what happened after John got shot by Euros, and Steven made it into a bit of a joke … oh well Sherlock called the police, and followed the tracker he put behind John’s left ear, etc. etc. So there’s your answer for a lot of things like, how do they survive huge explosions, or what’s on that note? Doesn’t matter, blank background.

Three, all three of them together have a project greenlighted at BBC that has nothing to do with Sherlock but could be considered a, quote, stablemate. A later answer implied that it was updating a classic.

Someone asked about Garridebs, which I had personally also asked Steven about, and he gave the same reply again, that the important part of it was the personal moment when John is shot, BUT, we don’t need to see that from our John and Sherlock because everyone knows Sherlock would be upset. So he just used the name cuz he had three bodies to drop into the sea, why not call them that? Umm, ok.

Four, the decision to make Redbeard a child was made during TAB filming. According to them, It had become something of a joke, Sherlock mourning a dog so much, but what if it was a child? And they named him Victor Trevor from the canon.

I know some people are convinced they are lying liars who lie, but in person they are very genuine. Of course they are going to leave some loopholes open in case they need to come back to them, but I RRREEEAAALLLLYYY think they love Mary, think she’s not evil, and she’s dead.

Mr. Darcy- Tom Holland One Shot

Pairing: Tom Holland X Reader

Prompt: While undercover at a school in New York, Tom falls for the pretty valedictorian and his partner for an English project.

Word Count: 3070

A/N: 3000 and several months later, I finally published another one shot!!! Yay! I’m not dead yet!

~~~
“I can’t believe it- I’m literally going back to high school.” Tom muttered angrily before biting into his toast for breakfast.
“Hey, you wanted to play Spiderman.” Harrison said, taking a sip of his tea.
“I know, but I didn’t think Marvel would legitimately send me to an American high school.”
As Harrison went to respond, his phone lit up, “Well, I got to go. Have fun at school, Stanley Osterfield.” He ruffled Tom’s hair playfully before leaving the room to answer his phone. Tom let out another huff of annoyance as he finished his meal. He fixed his hair in the bathroom mirror and grabbed his backpack, before heading out the door to his first day at an American high school.
~~~

Your AP Physics C instructor droned on about how magnetic fields are created as you drifted off into space. Just as your eyes were beginning to shut, the door squeaked open and a brown-haired boy walked in.

“I’m sorry. I got lost.” He said, handing Mr. Smith a pass. The teacher glanced down at him, then peered back up at the teenager.

“Transfer, eh?” Mr. Smith tossed the paper on the desk, “Take a seat in the back, next to Lucas.”

“Okay.” The boy said and began to walk to the back of the classroom. You, along with your classmates, stared at him as he walked; all of you wondering how-how he managed to get into the Bronx School of Science and Engineering at this point of the year. No one new had arrived since freshman year, so why suddenly in your senior year is someone knew arriving? He must be brilliant, in order to have bypassed all the tests and the waiting lists. You had a strange feeling about him. He looked all too familiar; when he passed by you and his brown eyes caught yours, you could’ve sworn you’d seen them before.

Your instructor continued with his lecture, acting as if he wasn’t questioning the arrival of a new student.

~~~
Four classes later, you saw him again. The new kid, Stan if you had heard the rumor properly, was in your physics class as well as your AP Literature and Composition class. This time, however, he wasn’t late, which seemed to please Ms. Hall.
“The AP Literature and Composition test is based upon your ability to analyze pieces of literature.” Ms. Hall spoke as she passed around a yellow sheet of paper with black printing on it, “For this project, you will be reading a classic novel and film a short movie based upon it. I will assign you a partner to work with on this project, as well as a book for it.” She then rattled off names in partners, calling you out last, “Y/N and Stanley, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.” You immediately looked over at the new boy. He simply pulled his beanie down lower and kept his head hidden in his arms.
Class continued as normal with no further discussion about the film project. After class, you went over to Ms. Hall’s desk to ask her about your partner.
“Y/N, are you here to ask why I partnered you with the new student?” She said before you managed to get a word out. You nodded sheepishly, “I did it because you are the valedictorian and my brightest student. I know you will do well on the project and I know that you will also manage to help him get comfortable in this school.”
“Okay. I think it will be fine. And, Ms. Hall, I am not valedictorian yet.”
“You’ve always been so modest. You will be valedictorian-I’m quite sure of it.” She smiled at you, “Have a good afternoon.”
“You too, Ms. Hall.” You replied, exiting the classroom. You headed straight for your locker to drop off your textbooks, so that you could head home.
“Excuse me, do you know where the library is?” You heard someone question. You turned around and were met with the eyes of Stanley.
“It’s on the other side of that building. You just walk down that hallway, through both sets of doors, and you’ll be there.” You explained.
“Right. Thank you.” When he turned to leave, you stopped him.
“You’re Stanley, right? The new student?” You said.
“Yes, that’s me.” He turned back around to face you.
“I’m Y/N Y/L/N, your partner for the English assignment.” You held your hand out for him to shake.
“Stanley Osterfield, but you can call me Stan.” He replied, shaking your hand with a smile.
“What are you off to the library for?”
“Textbooks-and also Pride and Prejudice.”
“If you give me a minute, I’ll walk with you. I need Pride and Prejudice as well.”
“Oh okay.” Stan said, waiting for you as you finished up at your locker.
“I have a copy of it, but I’m afraid my sister took it back to Florida, so I’ll most likely never get it back.”
“So you’ve read it before?” He asked as you both headed down the hallway towards the library.
“Yes, it’s one of my favorites. I’ve always been a fan of classical literature, especially novels from the U.K.”
“Have you ever been?”
“To the U.K.?” You questioned and he nodded, “Never, but I’m hoping to study at University College London next year.”
“UCL? Isn’t it hard to get into?”
“I suppose, but I’m hopeful.”
“Well, you’ll love it there. I’ve been to the U.K. quite a few times and it’s great.”
“Do you have family there?” You asked and Tom laughed with a nod.
“Yes, yes I do.” He responded as he held the library door open for you.
~~~

“So, Stan, how was your first day of school?” Harrison asked when the front door of his shared apartment with Tom opened that afternoon. He had been sitting on the couch, watching TV while eating chips.

“Boring and long.” He stated, dropping his backpack and books off on the dining room table.

“Make any friends?”

“No; besides, I’m only here for a month.” He stole the bag of chips from Harrison on his way to his room.

“What are all the numbers on your hand then?” Harrison called after Tom.

“Homework.” He responded as he shut the door between them. Tom looked down at his hand where the numbers were written. He hadn’t meant to make friends, but he somehow had become acquainted with you on his first day. He didn’t refuse when you offered to give him your number, so that you could communicate for the project. He continued to tell himself that it was for a project and not for any sort of relationship.

~~~
A few weeks later:
“Stan, I’m serious. The project is due next week and we still have to film and edit it. When will you be open?” You questioned as the two of you walked down the school hallway. Tom kept joking around and you could see that he was far from taking this project seriously.
“I can do whenever. I haven’t got any plans this weekend.”
“Ok, so we’ll film at my place tomorrow. And then you are going to study for that physics test.”
“But physics is boring.” He whined as you opened your locker.
“Oh well. You need to pass this test.”
“But it’s so hard. I don’t understand anything.”
“I really have no clue how you got into this school. You don’t know a thing about science at all.”
“I know Newton’s three laws.”
“Stan, everyone knows that.” You laughed, rolling your eyes at him.
“I’m an idiot, but that’s why I have you-the smartest girl in school- to help me.” He smiled as the bell rang.
“I’ll see you in second period.”
“See you then.” He replied as he took off to make it to class. You sighed as you closed your locker. At least it was a Friday.
~~~

“Are we doing British accents or not?”

“I can work with British.” Tom said, switching into his normal accent, as you two carried on up a small hill, where you’d begin filming.

“You definitely have spent a lot of time in England for your accent to be that good. I don’t know many Americans who can talk like that.” You laughed.

“I’ve had practice. Your turn.”

“Yeah, I think we’re going to stay with normal American accents because my British accent is terrible.” You stated, setting up the camera on a tripod.

“Alright, we’ll do American accents. Might make it less legit.” Tom said, making you shrug.

“I just want to get this over with. Ready, Mr. Darcy?” You asked.

“Always, Miss Bennet.”

“Let’s start it then.” You pressed play on the camera and got into position in front of Tom.

“I couldn’t sleep.” You said.

“Nor I. My aunt-”

“Yes, she was here.”

“How could I ever make amends for such behavior?”

“After what you have done for Lydia and I suspect Jane also, it is I who should be making amends.” Tom stepped closer to you, prepared for Darcy’s speech.

“You must know, surely you must know, it was all for you. You are too generous to trifle with me. I believe you spoke with my aunt last night, and it has taught me to hope as I’d scarcely allowed myself before. If your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes have not changed, but one word from you will silence me forever.” He stepped closer to you once more, “If, however, your feelings have changed, I would have to tell you: you have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love… I love… I love you. And I never wish to be parted from you from this day on.” He delivered the lines with such ease and fluidity that you stood frozen, staring into his big brown eyes, completing forgetting about the rest of the world.

“Y/N.” He mumbled, causing you to snap out of your trance.

“Right! My line!”

“Were you distracted?” Tom teased as you went to stop the camera.

“No, what makes you say that?”

“You just kind of zoned out staring at me. Does that mean I’m a good Darcy?” He asked and you playfully rolled your eyes.

“Let’s run it again.”

“Can you handle that?”

“I’m fine. I just forgot my line. That’s all.”

You ran through the scene a few more times and each time you were amazed by Tom. As you were packing up you camera, your stomach growled at you.

“Are you hungry? We can go get something to eat.” Tom asked, putting on his sunglasses, despite it being overcast.

“Sure. Where do you want to go?”

“I know this amazing taco place not too far from here.”

“Sounds good to me.” You shrugged, zipping up your camera bag. Tom took your hand, leading you through the park to the taco place, which turned out to be a taco truck.

“When you said amazing, I was thinking fancy restaurant.” You laughed, taking a bite of your taco.

“Is this not fancy?” Tom asked, accidentally slipping into his British accent.

“I still can’t believe you can speak with a good British accent.” You stated.

“I’ll have to take you there someday.”

“Take me where?”

“England.”

“I can’t afford a spontaneous trip to England, Stan.”

“True, because you’ll be going there next year.”

“I haven’t gotten my acceptance letter yet. I’m starting to get worried.”

“If you don’t get in to UCL, that’s okay. You’ve got a handful of other brilliant colleges waiting for you.”

“I know, but UCL has always been my dream.”

“You’ll be fine. I believe in you.” He encouraged as your phone went off.

“Sorry, Stan, I have to go. My mom wants me home.” You stated, standing up to leave

“I’ll walk you home.” He replied, following your actions. Tom walked beside you the entire walk home as you two continued your chat.

“Well, this is me.” You said, “Thank you fro tonight, Stan. I had fun.”

“Me too.” He replied. You both awkwardly stood there for a moment, waiting for the other to make a move. You turned towards the door.

“I should go.”

“Wait.” He called out and you turned back around to him. “I really like you, Y/N.”

“I like you too, Stan.”

“No,” he said, getting closer to you, “I really like you.” He repeated, leaning in to kiss you.

~~~
“How was filming?” Your sister asked you when you walked in the door.
“It was great.” You smiled, “We got everything done.”
“Seems like something more happened.” She said.
“Nothing happened. What are you watching?” You asked, looking at the TV.
“Captain America: Civil War.”
“Is Thor in it?” You asked. You’re not one to be big on superheroes, but you did have a soft spot for the God of thunder.
“No, but Spiderman and Black Panther are in it.”
“I didn’t think Spiderman was an Avenger.”
“It’s a long story. He’s about to pop up, wanna watch?”
“For a few, but I’ve got chores.” You said, sitting beside her on the couch as she played it. “Queens” was shown in big, bold letters as a song began to play.
“How was school today?” A woman off-screen asked as the camera focused on the back of a teenage boy.
“Okay. This crazy car parked outside-” he cut himself short as he saw whatever was behind the camera. You didn’t care about the plot-you cared about the character.
“Stan?”
“What?” Your sister asked.
“That’s Stan.” You said in disbelief.
“Stan? Stan who?”
“Stanley Osterfield. He’s new to my school and we’re partners for an English project.”
“That’s Tom Holland-not Stanley Osterfield.”
“They look the same and speak the same.” You pulled out your phone and searched up the unknown actor. “I don’t believe this.”
“What?”
“They are literally the same person. He’s faking it. He’s British and he’s 20.”
“Hey, Y/N, look what came today?” Your mom said, showing you an envelope with the letters UCL in bold.
“It came!” You shrieked, discarding your phone to grab the letter. You opened it with shaking hands and began to read it.
“I got in! I got in! UCL accepted me!” You exclaimed eagerly.
~~~

“Hey, Y/N.” Tom said Monday morning when he stopped by your locker, following his routine. You stayed silent, deciding to ignore him.

“I heard you got into UCL. Congratulations, I knew you could do it.”

“Thanks.” You said flatly, slamming your locker shut and beginning to walk away.

“Did I do something wrong?” He asked, chasing after you. When you remained silent, he questioned you more, “Is this about Saturday?”

“What are you doing here?” You replied, halting and turning to him.

“What do you mean?”

“What are you doing here? At the Bronx School of Science and Engineering? You’re not looking for a career in science or engineering. You’ve already got a career, don’t you, Tom?”

“Y/N, I have no clue what you’re talking ab-”

“I don’t want to hear it. I know you’re not Stanley Osterfield and I know you’re not even American. You’ve been lying to me-all this time.”

“Look, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean for it to go this far.”

“This far? You’re the one who kissed me the other night.” You were furious at ho he remained calm.

“I know. I’m really sorry, just please understand I never meant to hurt you. I wasn’t lying to you when I told you how I felt about you. My name and my accent was all I ever lied about. Please, believe me.”

“I don’t know what to believe anymore. I need time. Please, St-Tom, just leave me alone for a little bit.”

“I will, but please just know two things: first, tomorrow, I am going back to London and my time here will be up; and second, I love you and, as cheesy as it is, I never wish to be parted from you. I’ll leave you alone now. Goodbye, Y/N.” Tom walked away in defeat as you stood there trying to compose yourself.

~~~
The next morning, you received a text message from an unknown number, reading: ‘Y/N, you don’t know me, but I am Harrison Osterfield and, as Tom’s best friend, I’ve heard a lot about you. I’ve known Tom for many years and he’s not one to easily fall in love, but, somehow, he fell in love with you quickly. His intentions were originally to witness a New York high school first hand; then that all changed with you, on the very first day. I just wanted you to know that Tom loves everything about you. Our flight to London leaves at 9, but below is our flat address here in New York, in case you wanted to say goodbye to him.’
You sat still for a minute, deciding if you wanted to go see him off or not. Looking over at your bedside table, you saw your UCL acceptance letter sitting on top of Pride and Prejudice.
“How are you holding up, Y/N?” Your mom asked, walking into your room.
“I don’t know what to do. For the first time in my life, I’m utterly clueless. I’m upset that he didn’t tell me the truth, but I think I love him, mom.”
“Elizabeth Bennet gave Mr. Darcy another chance. Maybe Tom is your Mr. Darcy.”
“His flight is leaving soon, but I’ve got school.” You told her.
“Quit making excuses and go. Go find your Darcy.” She said and you smiled, racing out of the house.
You arrived at the complex and breathlessly knocked on the door. After a moment, it opened to a surprised Tom.
“Y/N, what’re you doing here?” He asked.
“I came to stop my Darcy from leaving me.” You said, causing a silly smile to form on his face.
“Your Darcy?”
“If you’ll still accept me as your Elizabeth, that is.”
“Your affections and wishes have changed?”
“Very much so.” You said, taking his hands in yours, “You’re hands are cold.” He laughed in reply.
“Are you two going to continue being nerds or are you going to kiss?”
“That’s Harrison.”
“I know.” You laughed, “And he’s right. We should kiss.”
“Yes we should.” Tom said, before giving you a kiss.
fave thing about the wonder woman movie is that steve trevor isnt there bc diana needs a man, hes there bc diana deserves love and bc it gives the veiwers a real idea of the pain she would have to feel by outliving all her friends. showing her in the future wouldnt be enough we had to actually see that she had lost someone she cared about and then we would make the connection that she lost everyone else too. it also shows that a woman loving a man doesnt make her weak, bc most women in superhero films are only there as love interests but diana was not only a whole person and the main character but she loved someone and was still strong and powerful and important and he helped her morally decide things without making it seem like she couldnt make decisions of her own and honestly its the most empowering and precious movie ive ever seen im still crying
Canon Compliant Daisuga Fic Recs
For @volleygifs and her anon!
I’ve read all 35 of the fics on this list, and I highly recommend all of them. They’re all rated General-Mature, and are mostly one-shots.
Coming Out of the Cupboard (6.7k) (G) (dancingwithwings)
“He finds out later that the angel’s name is Sugawara Koushi and he isn’t really an angel after all: he cracks scandalous jokes and grins like the devil himself, and loves shrimp onigiri more than anything else in the world.
Daichi likes shrimp onigiri too, he decides, but not as much as he likes Sugawara Koushi.”
In which the infamous Karasuno storage cupboard helps to solve quite a few of Daichi’s problems, Suga being one of them.
Love and Other Dumb Emotions (1k) (G) (hobbit_hedgehog)
DaiSuga Week Day Three: Shy or Bold
Today’s the day. Today’s the day that Koushi is finally going to ask Daichi out. But why is he so nervous?
Maybe Memories (4.9k) (G) (hobbit_hedgehog)
DaiSuga Week Day Four: Past or Future
Daichi was hiding something, Koushi knew that much. He had been looking at Koushi funny all morning. For Daichi to be acting like this was highly suspect, but Koushi had a fairly good idea of what was going on. Daichi was keeping secrets, and Koushi didn’t care for that shit at all.
Root of the Root (33k) (T) (SedentaryZebra) (Tw: Institutionalized Homophobia)
When an extremely famous pop star comes out as gay the day before Suga’s third year of high school begins, he thinks the only impact on his life will be the extra chocolates he will need to buy to console his mother.
He’s wrong.
The real beauty (5.4k) (M) (Ellessey) @ellessey-writes
“You’re going to love this house, Daichi,” Koushi says. He tips his chin up, so the kisses Daichi has begun to press to the crook of his neck can keep traveling upwards. “You’re going to…wonder how you ever doubted me.”
“I never doubt you,” Daichi says.
“You think our house is ugly.”
Daichi’s soft exhalation just under Koushi’s ear sends a perfect shiver down his spine. “It is ugly,” he says. “But I already love it.”
Their first house needs a lot of work, but Koushi loves every moment of turning it into a home with Daichi.
Exception to the rule (4.5k) (T) (Mysecretfanmoments)
In which Sugawara Koushi just so happens to belong to the .001% of guys Daichi might conceivably fall for, and it takes a confused third party for Daichi to realize it.
boys (5k) (G) (buu)
Before, if Suga had been asked to pick a type, he would have hummed and thought it over, maybe said something vague like “nice eyes” or “nice legs” or “a good personality”. Now, he can only think “Daichi”.
Perfectionism (2.9k) (T) (Mysecretfanmoments)
“I just wish it was something you could practice before you have to… perform.” He narrows his eyes, imagining it. “Like a CPR class.”
Suga raises an eyebrow. “You want to practice it. Beforehand.”
“Yeah. Are you offering?”
((Daichi doesn’t like to be bad at things–kissing included–and Suga is willing to help him practice.))
we are teenage hearts (3.7k) (G) (Pyrahus)
Daichi one day realizes that he does indeed see Suga as more than a friend -after the entire team figured it out ages ago- and contemplates how to ask his vice-captain out, while having to deal with his unruly kouhai and Nekoma.
you’re good where you are (3.5k) (M) (Mysecretfanmoments)
Daichi’s legs look good in shorts.
It’s an unnecessary statement, like “trees are plants” or “the earth orbits the sun”, but it keeps on surprising Koushi just how good they look in shorts; he thanks his lucky stars every day for whatever it was that led Daichi to pick up volleyball when he was a kid.
((a day in the life of Sugawara Koushi))
i do (cherish you) (3k) (T) (gabstar)
The first time Daichi suggests it, it’s a joke.
“Sugawara Koushi,” he says solemnly. He’s bent on one knee, the floor is still sticky with sweat post-practice. He offers up the lost ring, found while mopping off gym floors. “Will you marry me?”
((Five times Daichi asks Suga to marry him, plus once where he finally, finally says yes.))
Flybys and Landings (2.9k) (T) (sterlinglee)
When Daichi’s behavior takes a turn for the strange, Suga attempts damage control because that’s what Suga does. He doesn’t know the full story, but in his defense, “your captain and best friend has decided he like-likes you” isn’t the first conclusion most people come to. There’s confusion, a little heartache, and certain things that fail to be said until it’s nearly too late. But they make it to the same destination in the end.
love is a battlefield (and there are always casualties in war) (3.9k) (T) (skittidyne)
Tanaka and Noya had crossed a line. It had involved copious amounts of Red Bull, water balloons, food dye, one of Ennoshita’s film plots, and bad ideas. Daichi, Asahi, and Yachi had been the unfortunate victims. He didn’t want to think about it. It was a miracle Yachi hadn’t run home, crying, and quit the club. (Daichi had felt like it. Asahi tearfully threatened Noya with it.)
“I need revenge,” Daichi announced on the way home from practice.
(( or: daichi and kiyoko fake-date to get back at tanaka and noya after a particularly bad prank; everyone can see the collateral damage except for them ))
you can only take what you can carry (4.2k) (T) (skittidyne)
Suga pulled Noya down from the chair. Daichi finally decided enough was enough. He knew he was just doing it to draw him in, and damn it, it worked (just like it always worked against him), because there was no way he was letting Suga get into one of Kuroo and Bokuto’s competitions.
Suga had their libero thrown over one shoulder by the time Daichi reached them. “Daichi-san! Look!” Noya chirped, waving the arm that wasn’t wrapped around the vice-captain.
Suga put up his free arm, flexing, and gave Daichi a wink.
(( or, alternatively: “do you even lift, bro?” ))
Kiss it Better, Captain (6k) (M) (utsu)
In which Koushi realizes that it’s okay to be human.
**(This is the one fic on the list that is untagged borderline E smut)
The Captain and his Vice (Series) (145k) (G-M) (Crollalanza)
Daisuga stories that follow the same canon. They’re not necessarily in timeline order as some span several years. and it’s not entirely necessary to read them in this order. The majority of my HQ stories follow the same canon, and will intercept at certain points. Enjoy.
**(Mature fics do get smutty, but they are tagged.)
winner in the whirlwind (7k) (T) (tothemoon)
In which Suga beats Daichi at games and the latter finds someone to cherish.
(Or, snippets of encouragement and care under the guise of foot races, mischievous bets, and late night sessions of Mario Kart.)
just tell me how to get it straightforward (635) (G) (astroturfwars)
They don’t need words. They never have. It’s always been just them, heart to heart and eye to eye, and Daichi is as convinced of that as he is of the anxious thrumming of his blood.
Or: Daichi isn’t so good at expressing himself, but that’s never really mattered for Suga.
pride (4.4k) (T) (owlinaminor)
Daichi knows that Hinata accidentally called him ‘Dad’ once, and Suga often teases him about parenting the first-years, but this is just ridiculous.
“I’m not your dad, I’m your captain!” Daichi protests.
The cheering only increases in volume. They’re probably disturbing anyone who’s still at the school – but then, it’s New Year’s Eve. Nobody is still at the school besides Daichi’s insane, ridiculous, wonderful team.
“Okay, fine,” he says at last, raising his hands in surrender. “I’m proud to be your dad.”
Pick a Number, Any Number (3.3k) (G) (fansofcollisions)
It’s hideous. Repulsive, even. It makes Daichi want to curl up into a pretzel of existential horror.
“I call him ‘Bear’,” says Suga, smiling fondly.
when all the songs are through (5.7k) (T) (thewindraiser)
Daichi is out for lunch with some of his colleagues when he spots it.
The ring.
Halfway Between (5.3k) (T) (Skylark)
“Even if we come back here, it won’t be the same…. Some things won’t change, though. We’ll still play volleyball. We’ll still be friends.”
Suga comes home in more ways than one.
Suspicious Pizza (1.2k) (T) (Pouler)
Daichi felt his heart skip a beat. Was this it? Was this the moment?
Oh… (318) (G) (myria_chan)
The first time Daiichi says his name in public. Does it have to be in front of Karasuno?
somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond (5.2k) (T) (themorninglark)
Suga has learned to solve his problems, save for one.
It’s their graduation day, and he’s staring at it.
Burning (3.1k) (T) (DreadfulMind)
“Why do you have to make me look bad?”
Daichi scoffed, “yeah, like anyone could make you look bad,”
“Well when you’re showing off your muscles like that, the rest of us are left to look like twigs,” Suga tugged at the sleeves of Daichi’s t-shirt, which he had rolled up around his shoulders to cool his arms down.
“It’s hot, what do you expect?” he lightly slapped Suga’s hand away.
“For you to not be so hot,” Suga retorted easily.
They Call Me Captain Mom (4.7K) (T) (StormySteady)
Suga and Daichi make out in the gym’s supply closet. This decision proves exactly as injudicious as it sounds.
(Or, the story of that one time Daichi had to take over the role of “team mom” for a few minutes while a half-naked Suga just kinda hid in the corner and giggled)
you and your dusty radio, me and my two left feet (1.1k) (T) (raewrites)
Suga already has his fingers curled into the blanket, ready to bury himself back into the welcoming warmth of sleep when a thought suddenly crosses his mind.
‘It’s my birthday today.’
Sweatpants (3.5k) (T) (shady)
Daichi wears the same pair of gray sweatpants every time he spends the night, and they’re driving Suga insane.
Of Course (2k) (T) (ofperspicacity)
Daichi has been acting strange for a while, and Suga isn’t sure how to take it. The reason is the happiest kind of surprise.
Based on a section of “national hot dad alliance is now calling…”
First Snow (3.1k) (T) (Feelsripper)
Walking Suga home had started out as a joke between the two of them, until Daichi realized he sort of liked it way more than he should have.
Commit This to Memory (2k) (T) (shions_heart)
Daichi is in love with Suga. It just takes him a while to confess.
Mom And Dad No! (1.6k) (T) (imabignerd, kate882)
Suga and Daichi find out about the team calling them Mom and Dad behind their backs in an unfortunate way.
Look; it’s You and Me (1.4k) (T) (WildKitte)
How should he say this? That he listened to a sappy love song and got so wound up around it thinking Daichi that it became unbearable to be physically separated from him?
In which Suga listens to a song.
PDA (4.3k) (T) (Veto_power_over_clocks)
Someone’s leaving thimbles for (an increasingly confused) Suga. We all know how it’s going to end, but what matters is getting there, isn’t it?
To all of you starting high school
High school sucks. If anyone tells you different, they’re lying.
High school is not the best 4 years of your life.
High school isn’t everything.
Those kids that make fun of you? 4 years and you’re done. You will never have to communicate with them again. (also karma will get them get back)
Seriously, pay attention and do your homework. You will regret it if you don;t.
BEFRIEND YOUR TEACHERS. They are your friends. Yes, even the mean ones.
The friends you have now, probably won’t be your friends by your last year and that’s okay.
Eat something in morning. Bring a granola bar to school and eat it between classes if you can’t eat in the morning. You will feel better if you eat something.
Push yourself. Colleges want people who push themselves, not people who take all the easy classes.
No one will care about how you acted or what you did by the next day and at most a few weeks.
9 times out of 10, upperclassmen don’t want to just “chill”. They don’t care bout your feelings. If they’re sleeping with you and not an upperclassmen, there’s probably a reason.
Don’t let other people borrow your textbooks. Those things aren’t cheap and you probably won’t see it again.
BE NICE TO EVERYONE. You never know when you’ll need to copy someone’s homework. (I was nice so people let me copy ALL the time)
Copy smart. Copying does you no good if you get caught. High School teachers don’t let that shit slide.
If you choose not to do the reading, PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS AND TAKE LOTS OF NOTES. You can bet your ass there will be a quiz.
If you do Shakespeare or anything that’s hard to read, (A Tale Of Two Cities jfc), if there’s a film version, WATCH IT. It will help you understand it.
Don’t be afraid to ask your teachers for help.
If you can bring coffee, SPILLPROOF CUPS. No one wants spoiled milk. That shit will spill in your locker and you will forget and it will be gross.
KEEP YOUR LOCKER CLEAN. Last thing you want is a detention because you were late because you couldn’t find your textbook from your locker being too messy.
If you’re gonna be late, make that shit count.
For the love of god, don’t send nudes.
Bring your earphones and charger
You’ll be fine. High school sucks but it’s only 4 years and it’ll fly by.
