everyday is women's day

It’s Women in Engineering Day

Today, June 23 is International Women in Engineering Day. We have many talented women across NASA that contribute to our success to reach for new heights and reveal the unknown for the benefit of humankind.

- The art of being carried. From birth to club to the NT.

(Hands up if you want to carry Christen…🙌 🙌 🙌 🙌 🙌 🙌 🙌 🙌 🙌 🙌 🙌 🙌 🙌 )

“If there’s a women’s day there should be a men’s day as well” it saddens me that people fail to realise that it’s a men’s day everyday. It’s a men’s day in the workplace when women are paid less, it’s a men’s day in the school when little girls are told a boy who hits you probably likes you, it’s a men’s day when any woman is a victim of domestic violence, it’s a men’s day when any woman is sexually assaulted, it’s a men’s day when parents choose to send their son to school rather than their daughter even tho its her basic human right, it’s men’s day whenever a baby is abandoned by her family because she was born a girl, it’s a men’s day whenever any woman is catcalled, groped, molested, raped, and are subject to domestic violence. The women’s day is the one day when women feel empowered as one community to stand up for each other. It’s the one day that women can say that I am a woman of this society and I shall not be treated this way. Yet, in a man’s world, we have can’t even have one day in honour of women.

  • happy international women’s day to literally all of us who identify as women/present as fem/support ALL women - we’re amazing and the fact that we have made it this far is amazing and i am so proud of every single breath we take in this world that hates so many of us!! i love you all and you all inspire everyday xox

The other day I was walking down the street, and this group of white guys start cat calling me, shouting things like “nice ass,” and the usual douche fare.

I was already having a shitty day, and was just trying to ignore them and not let them get to me, when all of a sudden, a man I can most accurately describe as Black Hulk (in that he was black, enormous, and prolifically muscled… not ragey) appears absolutely out of nowhere and booms out, “THANKS, SEXY!!!” The cat callers all awkwardly gaped and stammered for a bit before booking it. It was amazing.

So, to my gym loving avenger, wherever you are, thank you. You made an uncomfortable and degrading situation into a hilarious one. You rock.

  3. “It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.”
  4. “You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one. I hope someday you’ll join us. And the world will live as one.”
  5. “It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting.”
  6. “Yes: I am a dreamer. For a dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world.”
  7. “You are, and always have been, my dream.
  8. “There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.”
  9. “May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness.”
  10. “All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.
  11. “You are every reason, every hope, and every dream I’ve ever had, and no matter what happens to us in the future, everyday we are together is the greatest day of my life.”
  12. “Some women choose to follow men, and some women choose to follow their dreams.”
  13. “Who’s to say that dreams and nightmares aren’t as real as the here and now?”
  14. “Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night.”
  15. “I felt I was dreaming and thinking and feeling with you.”
  16. “Laughter is timeless. Imagination has no age. And dreams are forever.”
  17. “The nicest thing for me is sleep, then at least I can dream.
  18. “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
  19. “I think we dream so we don’t have to be apart for so long. If we’re in each other’s dreams, we can be together all the time.”
  20. “A single dream is more powerful than a thousand realities.”
  21. “As long as I can still dream, I will dream of you.”
  22. “I dream my painting and I paint my dream.
  23. “I dream. Sometimes I think that’s the only right thing to do.”
  24. “There are so many fragile things, after all. People break so easily, and so do dreams and hearts.”
  25. “The best fantasy is written in the language of dreams.
  26. “No book can be appreciated until it has been slept with and dreamed over.”
  27. Dreams do come true, if only we wish hard enough.”
  28. “I love you, not just for now, but for always, and I dream of the day that you’ll take me in your arms again.”
  29. “If I am really a part of your dream, you’ll come back one day.”
  30. “I used to dream about escaping my ordinary life, but my life was never ordinary.”
  31. “We dream to give ourselves hope. To stop dreaming - well, that’s like saying you can never change your fate.”
  32. “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.”
  33. “We dream in our waking moments, and walk in our sleep.”
  34. “You’re something between a dream and a miracle.”
  35. “I find out a lot about myself by sleeping. Dreams, they are who I am when I’m too tired to be me.”
  36. “Hope is a waking dream.
  37. “ Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
  38. “You cannot kill a breeze, a wind, a fragrance; you cannot kill a dream or an ambition.”

  40. “Am I alive and a reality, or am I but a dream?”
  41. “Sometimes the dreams that come true are the dreams you never even knew you had.”
  42. “The moment you put a deadline on your dream, it becomes a goal.”
  43. “Happiness consists in realizing it is all a great strange dream
  44. Dream as if you will live forever; Live as if you will die today.”
  45. “Stupid dreams. Even the good ones are bad, because they remind you how poorly reality measures up.”
  46. “The world was a terrible place, cruel, pitiless, dark as a bad dream. Not a good place to live.”
  47. “I want to keep my dreams, even bad ones, because without them, I might have nothing all night long.”
  48. “Do you want me to sing to you? I’ll sing all night if it will keep the bad dreams away.”
  49. “ I—I had a bad dream. I needed to talk to someone.”
  50. “You have pain? I will ease it. Bad dreams? I will chase them asunder. Regrets? I will go back and undo them.”
  51. “This was a dream. A very bad, bad dream, brought on by liver poisoning from too many gin and tonics.”
  52. “Bad dreams are ghosts of our fears and worries, haunting us while we sleep.”

Happy Women’s Day hey

anonymous asked:

You and Dayton go to the gym everyday, and one day it's packed with seemingly only women. "Baby, what's all the fuss about?" "Couldn't tell ya Day." Until your eyes landed on the infamous Lance Tucker, mouth falling open slightly. "Oh," your boyfriend said, pulling you closer as he defeatedly rested his head against yours. You only turned to him and kissed his lips. "Now we get to go home and cuddle, Day."

oh this is so damn cute haha

Spinoff Saturday

Elonë, a german woman, made this to spread her message about gender equality and the elimination of rape culture. She choose the International Women’s Day as the perfect day to reveal her message.
Don’t take for granted this day. It’s not a party, and women should’t celebrate the “being woman” only on March the 8th, we should do it everyday. Today is the celebration of the conquest of the right of vote, the equality in work, the equality of gender, things obtained through the struggle and sacrifice of the women of the past. Don’t forget that we have a “women’s day” and not a “man’s day”. Women struggled to have their rights, and somewhere there are still women who need to do it.
Today is to remember the courage and determination of these women thanks to today women have their freedom.
Be proud of being a woman, everyday.

8/3/16, International Women’s Day

“The person out on the street attacking you is most likely going to be a man and probably a big one. That’s why those classes that are segregated between males and females and ‘women’s self-defense’ classes are bullshit. You will never understand how a technique will work on someone whose’s bigger and stronger than you if you aren’t training with guys that have two hundred pounds on you.

“I’ll give you an example. When I was thirteen and I was in judo, there was girl that was about five years older than me that was also in the adult class. Guess what, she was the only woman. Back then women didn’t do martial arts, especially not judo because of the grappling. She was a brown belt and to get that far, especially as a woman back then, you didn’t get there by being soft. She tossed around two hundred pound guys all the time in class. That’s why when she was attacked outside of a self-defense class she was teaching, she destroyed the four guys that came after her.”
