every other fandom you can think of

AN ODE TO FANFICTION WRITERS:

FROM YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD FANFIC CONSUMER

Here’s to the newbies just starting out, the ones discovering their ability to twist and bend plots, characters and places to their will for the first time,

To the old faithfuls, who have kids at home and a full-time job but somehow still find the time to make us forget for a while,

To the students who publish one-shots and sagas in-between study sessions,

To the ones who posted that one fic years ago and have since moved on, but whose story meant (and still means) so much to so many readers,

To those of you who publish short, little things that pack the emotional punch of a freight train,

To the ones who update faithfully, and to the ones who don’t,

To the ones who weave lyrics into their stories, and the ones who deal in nothing but angst,

To those who don’t write in their native language,

To the brave ones who do it despite their fear of rejection or criticism,

To the ones who like to write with their friends, and the ones who do it alone because their friends wouldn’t understand,

To the ones who spend hours researching in order to to make their world as real as possible,

To to the poets and novelists and essayists and dreamers:

Every single one of you is precious.

You, along with all the other fandom artists and creators, lift us up and give us hope.  You make us laugh, you make us cry, you make us think and question and wonder.  You help us escape, sometimes, when we need it most.  You bring the unimaginable to life, you translate lofty words into ones we can smell, hear and taste, and you continually encourage and inspire us.  You’re wonderful and powerful and courageous and so, so loved, even if we aren’t always the best at letting you know it.  So this is for those of you with empty comment sections, with a concerning lack of kudos/likes/favs/bookmarks. Your stories make a difference, and they always will.

So, from all of us to you:

Thank you.

Do you know when "canon," like as a concept, became like a standard nerd thing?

The amazing thing about the term “canon” is that it didn’t bubble up from the undifferentiated mass of fandom (who actually knows who came up with memes?). We know exactly and specifically where the word comes from when used in this context: an essay written by a Sherlock Holmes fan in 1911, who compared the wild and crazy veneration that fanatical Holmes fans have for the original stories, to holy writ. Another name for the books assembled in the Bible was the canon, as opposed to other books that, for various reasons, were left out of the Bible and “didn’t count.” In other words, the term was originally used ironically and in a self-deprecating way to talk about the almost religious intensity of Holmes fans.

Part of the reason the term canon caught on was because, even in the 1910s, the public was so mad for Sherlock Holmes that there were all kinds of illegal imitators and non-Conan Doyle authors and knockoffs, and yes, there were even amateur works that were distributed by mail (what today we’d call “fanfiction,” some of which even survives today), so a crucial distinction began to arise between the stuff that was “official” and the stuff that wasn’t. So, here we have the three things that we need to even have the concept of canon as we define it: 1) a group dedicated enough to actually care, who can communicate, 2) a necessary distinction between “official” and not, particularly due to the presence of amateur works (what today we’d call fanfiction), 3) a long term property that could sustain that devotion.

Now, of the three, which do you think was the one that was absent from a lot of science fiction fandom’s first few decades? It’s actually 3. Canon only matters if it’s something other than just a single story, which the business model of the pulps discouraged. Like TV in the 1960s, every story had to be compartmentalized and serial storytelling was mostly discouraged.

One fandom, big from the 1930s to the 1960s was E.E. Smith’s space opera Lensman series. The Lensman stories were so popular that it received 5 sequels, all of which were planned from the outset. Some Lensman fanfiction from the 1940s is actually still available for reading. Part of the reason the Lensman stories were so popular is that it described a consistent world with consistent attributes: Inertialess Drives, aliens like Chickladorians, Vegians, Rigellians, pressor beams, space axes, Valerian Space Marines, superdreadnoughts, “the Hell Hole in Space,” the works. It was way easier to get sucked into this than it was with the usual “one and done.”  Take for example, this amateur guide to the Lensman series, with art by Betty Jo Trimble.

Canon “policy” as we know it today, as a part of a corporate strategy, started with Star Trek: the Next Generation. Before that, there was no “multimedia property” big enough to necessitate it; Star Wars just didn’t care, which is why pre-Zahn “expanded universe” stories like the Marvel comics were so bonkers. There was no reason to believe that the Trek novels, including good ones by John M. Ford and Diane Duane, were anything else than totally official. Roddenberry, though, was deeply angry about losing control of the film series, and due to his illness (hidden from the public at the time), his canon policy was enforced by his overly zealous attorney. In Star Trek canon, for a long time, the only thing that counted was what was on screen. And not even that…the Star Trek animated series, for several decades, was decanonized. (It wasn’t until Deep Space 9 that animated references crept back in, and today, it’s as canon as everything else).

I don’t want to scare anyone, and this is hearsay, but I’ve heard from three people who were there that Next Generation writers, at least as long as Roddenberry and his attorney were around, were encouraged to not think of the original series as canon at all. References to Spock and even an episode that had an appearance by the Gorn were rewritten.

The Star Trek canon policy was so harsh and unexpected that rules were invented deliberately to kick out popular reference sources, like the rule that starships could only have even numbered nacelles, which meant much of the Franz Joseph guides, published in the millions and praised by Roddenberry and others as official, were vindictively decanonized.

Star Wars canon is interesting because it was entirely created by the West End Roleplaying Game. It was the only major Star Wars product printed in the Star Wars Dark Age, the 5-6 years between 1986-1991 when all toy lines and comics were canceled and the fandom was effectively in a coma or dead. The Roleplaying Game was the first place that information was collected from diverse sources like the comics and novels. Every single Star Wars novelist read the West End game because it was the only time all this information was in one place.

Marvel Comics canon is a very interesting example because it was a harbinger of things to come: superhero comics were one of the earliest places in geek culture where the “inmates started to run the asylum”…that is to say, fans produced the comics, guys like Roy Thomas (creator of the Vision and Ultron) who started off as a fanzine writer. Because of the back and forth in letters pages, there was an emphasis on everyone keeping it all together that didn’t exist at DC, which at last count, had 5 (!) totally contradictory versions of Atlantis.

My favourite thing about the Voltron discourse?
- It’s entirely made up.

Because when you think about it, every problem in the Voltron fandom was created by the fandom itself.

  • “Shiro is 25″

You got that from a video where 25 was said to be the “top range”, meaning Shiro isn’t older than that. He can still be anywhere from 19 to 25, but you keep insisting that your interpretation is the correct one while all others are wrong.

  • “The other paladins are 16″

Again, they were said to be in their late teens. If “teens” starts at 13 and ends at 20, 16 is the middle. “Late teens” would equal anything from 17 to 19, but again - you think everyone who interprets it differently than you does so to offend you personally.

  • “Allura was made a teen so Kallura could become canon”

Allura was never said to be an adult to begin with. Y’all just saw a dark-skinned girl act vaguely mature and decided that she must become the “mom character” and cater to everyone’s needs.

  • “Lotor is a rapist”

Sincline was a rapist. In the Japanese original. That no one of you bothered to watch anyways. Any excuse you come up with to hate a character that hasn’t made an appearance in the show yet is a direct product of your own imagination. Just like any other complaint you have about the show and its writers, really.

  • “Voltron is queerbaiting”

There’s no indications of romance in the actual show yet. The only queerbaiting nonsense comes from people that keep insisting their ship is canon - when it isn’t. LGBT+ representation is very possible, but other ships you’re constantly tearing down are LGBT+ as well. You don’t care about representation, you only care about whether your ship becomes canon or not.

Queerbaiting is an issue, but your favourite mlm/wlw pairing not being endgame is not “queerbaiting”. Stop misusing words like pedophilia, heteronormativity, homophobia, queerbaiting, gaslighting & abuse. You can dislike something without it having to be morally wrong.

Admit you don’t like the thing. Blacklist it. Move on. It’s as simple as that.

You’ll always find something to get mad over if you just look hard enough.

ok so y’all know the “fall out boy is for lovers- chicago softcore” shirts right?

well softcore is- like in porn- something gentler than hardcore. something sweeter, more innocent.

now, pete left chicago’s hardcore scene because a lot of people were misogynist + homophobic + racist + all that nasty stuff. every member of fob was in the hardcore scene before fob but was very much pushed out when they got together, right?

so, “fall out boy is for lovers- chicago softcore” is basically them saying that you can feel welcome in their fandom. feel loved at their shows. feel accepted by the members. fob isnt for haters, fob isnt for people who discriminate others, fob is for fucking lovers. it’s basically a giant “fuck you” to all the bigots who think that they’re better just because they’re hardcore.

i really think that everyone should remember that. esp ppl who criticize their new “poppy” sound- it was never meant to be hardcore. it was never meant to be edgy. it was meant to be a safe spot for the kids who didnt have anywhere to go- both those that were pushed away from the hardcore scene and those who didn’t belong in the mainstream scene either and it still is for thousands of young people.

not fitting in was the reason they started out, and people are still calling them out for not being emo enough for emo, not punk enough for pop punk and not pop enough for pop!

please just appreciate fall out boy. even if you dont love the music, love their love.

types of mutuals on hockey tumblr

inspired by this post

1. omgcp fan mutual
they’re otherwise super sweet and a great hockey blog but they’re really into omgcp and you forget until there’s an update and suddenly it’s all over your dash. they’re the reason why you have “#cp” “#check please” “#omgcp” all blacklisted

2. Ancient Hockey Fan mutual
was born in a hockey jersey. grew up loving hockey. feels like they know everything there is to know about hockey. uses terms you’ve never heard of before on their blog and you go to them when you have questions. you’re constantly in awe

3. pens fan mutual
technically you don’t even like the pens but you’re mutuals with them and you’re not excatly sure why or when. they’re not annoying about it and they have good content otherwise so you don’t break the mutual… but you think about it during preds v pens games. oh do u EVER think about it.

4. obscure team mutual
they’re really into some obscure team that nobody on your dash really follows. you still don’t know much about their team but you’re definitely impressed by their commitment to constantly making content for their team when nobody else supports them

5. super social mutual
in at least 8 different gcs and interacts with all of them on your dash on a daily basis. everyone loves them. you wish you could be part of their friend group or at least have friends like that

6. discourse mutual
it’s not that they’re starting drama with people specifically but they always have an opinion on everything even slightly contentious that ever gets brought up in the fandom and never hesitate to let you know what they think.

7. drama mutual
starts drama with people specifically and will actively vague post about them. sometimes not so vaguely

8. shitposting mutual
it feels like every single thing about their blog is a shitpost—their url, their icon, their header, their blog title, their blog description, you name it. they have the funniest tags and you always see their shitposts on your dash

9. giffing mutual
posts gifsets every other minute. will literally gif games AS they’re going on. you have no fucking idea how they do it but they can basically do now wonrg since you get 80% of your blog content from them

10. big name fan mutual
it feels like you and every other person on your dash follows this blog. you can’t believe you’re mutuals with them and everytime you see them in your activity page you get hype. either consistently makes funny posts or gifsets or both

Morning.

And also a big fuck you to anyone ever having sent hate on or off anon, bullying people or making this fandom feel like not a safe, good place to anyone.

I woke up to see one of my fave blogs has deleted - not because they needed a break, or stopped believing, or because they wanted to leave. They wanted to stay and support the boys, were vocal about it but I guess one post, one opinion was deemed so unworthy by so many that they got showered in hate and felt their own fandom was not a safe, happy place for them. This all in less than 12 hours.

And that’s just one example. I truly cannot understand when did people stop understanding that different opinions exist? That not every opinion that differs from yours, means that it’s a chance for you to roll up your sleeves, get typing and get ooh sassy! (i.e.mean and bitchy) because you somehow think the other person’s different opinion is not as thought-through and strong as yours? That you can make them change their mind if you get sassy enough? Make them see the light?

There is still good discussion, respectful exchange of opinions and considering different viewpoints that exists, yes. And that’s good, this is not what this is about. If you have a blogger you hate, love to hateread, or you see a post that makes you want to get mean (and that is honestly the first sign that you should not send anything to that blogger), what do you get out of sending hate? Like what do you think is the end result going to be? Them answering publically and saying ‘yes oh smart one, you helped me see my ways’? Or just to make them feel shit and purposefully hope they get sad and cry and maybe delete?

There is no harm in not reacting. None. I see posts I roll my eyes at, I have bloggers I think have absolutely lost the plot and have no respect for their opinions. I know this so I avoid their blogs. I know we don’t agree. I see from posts that ‘oh I don’t agree with that at all’ and scroll further, maybe go unfollow/blaklist/block. It has yet harmed my life in no way to not send hate to a person I do not agree with.

We all have our faves and opinions and this fandom has been a very rough place for a long time. I know people and feelings have gotten volatile, but please for the love of everything, be nice or be nothing. It’s ok to disagree. It’s ok to think someone is a dickhead who should choke. It’s not ok to go to another person’s safe, happy place and personally attack them. You are not doing anyone a favour or defending anyone in a good way.

Choose that damn love every day or at least decide not to be a hateful person ✌

Are you ready for this? We’re kicking off another round of RETHG where we read, create, fangirl/guy and dissect our favorite books and OTP.

Every week we read two chapters which are accompanied with questions and prompts that engage the fandom in various ways. You can choose to write/think/create/act on those, or do what you feel inspired to do. Just tag with #rethg and your post will be blogged on @everlarkedalways and many other blogs that regularly participate!

We always end the reread with a rewatch where we take a specific time to corporately watch the movies together! It’s definitely one of my favorite fandom things I’ve ever participated in. Join us! You will not regret it. :)

Let’s do this, THG fandom!

the Tumblr tsc fandom

what a magical thing. Literally every other fandom is going insane and you would think we would too with having to wait two years for qoaad and all, but no. We’re just discussing burritos/baguettes/pancakes and shipping mark with a lamp.

and there’s so much drama in the show fandom, and we’re just here like, “I can’t believe you don’t think that’s a burrito”

10/10 would recommend joining the tsc fandom

anonymous asked:

rohans a bad person, theres no denying that. but that doesnt mean you cant acknowledge it and still like his character!! hes got his goodboy moments sometimes too

You Absolute Fool. You Come Into My House, Insult My Fav, Insist I Don’t Know How To Read Because Rohan Kishibe Is “A Bad Person, There’s No Denying That”?

Please. “Rohan is a bad person” is shit-tier meta.

You have awakened the beast.

SPOILERS FOR “THUS SPOKE KISHIBE ROHAN” AND “ROHAN AT THE LOUVRE”

1. Rohan Kishibe’s only actual “bad thing he’s done” was try and kill Koichi, Josuke, and Okuyasu in his introductory chapter. Understandably, that’s not super great! But when you read further and learn about his character, you can kind of understand what was going through his head when he did that. Rohan has an incredible hyperfocusing issue. It can make him work on his comics for days without rest, it can make him search for a serial killer constantly without pause, it can make him aloof and blindsides him from other actual human beings. This is why he almost killed them in his first chapter – upon meeting another stand user for the first time ever (he only got his stand three months prior, according to DIU canon – and he’d never met anyone like him), he went super fucking overboard. After he gets forcefully removed from that hyperfocus, he never tries to attack them ever again. He doesn’t try and steal Koichi’s pages. In fact, after that first chapter, he doesn’t steal anyone’s pages.

2. Rohan does not like Josuke in Diamond is Unbreakable canon. In fact, neither of them like each other. Rohan is a dick to Josuke, Josuke is a dick to Rohan. Rohan generally still sees himself as better than everyone else, but on the outside he is still cordial and polite – even respectful – to other people. Just not Josuke. Everyone in the fandom, however, seems to fucking think otherwise. Rohan only really treats Josuke like garbage, and to be honest, can you blame him? Josuke put him in the hospital for a month (it was a deserved punishment, but still) and burned his house down while trying to steal money from him. Rohan literally does not have any reason to be nice to Josuke. He is, however, respectful of Joseph, and the other members of Josuke’s family. He is not a dick to every person he meets. He may have an internal monologue of “I am better than everyone else,” but he doesn’t purposefully flaunt it in front of other people.

3. Does everyone just collectively forget that almost every jobro starts off trying to attack the protagonist? Speedwagon, Kakyoin and Polnareff, Okuyasu, Rohan, Yukako, Yuuya, almost every fucking character in part 4 honestly– like, “Uwaah!! Rohan attacked the main characters so he’s evil!!” is just grasping at low-hanging fruit. Try harder.

4. Rohan ends up caring about the Duwang Gang. He ends up as part of the Duwang Gang. I’m not making this shit up. Do you want proof? In Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan and Rohan at the Louvre, there are instances where Rohan is eating or having tea with Josuke, Okuyasu, and Koichi. In the scene where they’re having tea, it’s at Rohan’s house – meaning that they’ve all become close enough that Rohan is fine with them there. He even ditches them to go to Paris basically halfway through a conversation (another example of that hyperfocusing I mentioned earlier), which means he trusts them enough to just… be alone in his house without him. Do you think Okuyasu, Koichi and Josuke would be close friends with a bad person? Do we all remember when they kinkshamed a man to death?

5.

(CONTEXT: He and the man he’s talking about were trying to save the lives of a huge crowd of people at a train station. Everyone else there was being controlled by these special bugs that live in cellphones. The other man did not survive, but he made sure that no one else was hurt that day. Rohan expressed genuine grief at not being able to help him.

6.

(CONTEXT: The woman he’s carrying got a little too greedy when trying to bargain with forces she didn’t understand. Her fiancé and her mother reaped the consequences by getting in a fatal car crash. She fainted. The bird, which Rohan had saved earlier, was also a victim of those consequences. Rohan singlehandedly saved the woman, the woman’s family, and the bird.)

7.

Hmm, wait, what’s that there? Let me get a close up:

FRIEND???? ROHAN HAS FRIENDS???????? ROHAN IS FRIENDS WITH GENUINE GOODGUY TONIO TRUSSARDI?????????? WHAT A SHOCKER!!!!!

8.

“Sure, I’ll go illegal poaching with you because it sounds fun.”

-That night-

WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT HE GENUINELY CARES ABOUT HIS FRIEND, WHAT A FUCKING SURPRISE!

He then proceeds to save Tonio’s life, at great risk to his own.

I’m sure I could fine even more examples of Rohan being a genuinely good person, with more “goodboy” moments than bad, but I have stuff to do so I’ll stop here.

LONG STORY SHORT: ROHAN KISHIBE IS A GOOD MAN, YOUR META IS WRONG AND YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD, AND DON’T COME TO MY HOUSE TO TELL ME SHIT THAT ISN’T TRUE.

Reason #84936293 Why I Love Leverage:

This fandom. This whole freaking fandom. The people.

It’s been over four years since the series finale of Leverage and people are still watching and rewatching and starting it for the first time every day and I think I love that. It’s amazing. No other show is like that.

Going on the Leverage tag on tumblr, you can still see people going “Just started Leverage. The obsession is beginning.” And that’s how you know it’s really a good show. How, even now, people are obsessed and amazed at how good it is, four freaking years later!

And also, the fact that when you go through the tag, looking at what people have to say, none of is bad. Usually in a fandom, there’s that one person who is just like “Ugh. The writers are such idiots! What an absolute mistake they made!” But not in the Leverage fandom. All comments are insightful and full of adoration for this show because it’s so good and will never cease of being so.

So, yeah, I love Leverage, and I love this fandom, too.

I am so done with everybody's shit

I am just so done with these insecure people attacking vmin or jikook or even ships like yoonseok just because their ships are literally sinking… like I know this might come off as rude but… It is so cringy for me to watch people bash us Jikook shippers for every moment we have and them trying to turn it into “brotherly love”. It also went THAT far that SOME people were pretending to be KOREAN in other people’s asks to JUST PROVE their point. Also I am really sick of people going out there and trying to push on people how JIKOOK or VMIN are “fanservice” and their ship is not by claiming their ship have a handshake?! WHAT THE… Yeah Jikook are totally fanservice with most of their iconic moments being off camera and we all know that some videos were even DELETED without any reason… and we might just guess that jikook had something to do with that. And Vmin are literally so close that you might think they cuddle each other every night to sleep and tell each other their deepest secrets. I take myself as very openminded person who doesnt judge anyone in what they ship because shipping is supposed to be fun and part of fandom. But I really cant stand these certain people because they literally attack jikook fans out of nowhere and then they go and make post how immature WE are just because we get offended by them. Of course people are gonna get offended when you act like an asshole and go to people’s twitter or asks and attack them so PLEASE DONT make a VICTIM out of yourself!!! These are just my thoughts that I had to put out there to summarize my feelings about what has been going on these days in our fandom. Why to make ship wars when you can basically just not mention or tag other ships on your bullshit, stay on your tag and mind your own business?!?! Like I am starting to think these people are secretly obsessed with jikook when they make so much affort to check on every moment they have and then hate on it.

So, you know I'm rather new to the fandom, and this will be my first comeback, and I want to do anything I can to help make this comeback a success for our boys. Can you tell me what I can do? like I dont know if I will be able to buy the album, but what other things can I do and where? Thanks~

Sure thing! I’ll give you some basics of what a typical comeback is like for fans! I hope this info is helpful for all BABYz and thanks to the awesome BABYz who provided tutorials for all of these methods!

Social Media

The easiest method is to just promote BAP as much as possible for every comeback. Whether it’s Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, Instagram, or Snapchat, introducing BAP to other K-Pop fans as well as people who are not into K-pop is seriously so helpful. The more we talk about BAP, the more exposure they’ll get, which will lead to more fans and more opportunities for BAP in the future!

I cannot stress this enough when I say that when discussing BAP on social media PLEASE keep your posts and comments positive. Talk about how great the songs are, how perfect the MV is, write about OT6′s flawless singing and dancing, etc; however, DON’T make negative posts criticizing BAP/BABYz/other fandoms because it really reflects back on BAP. DON’T start rumors or spread them, DON’T post or repost negative comments/posts from others, and DON’T write negative comments directly to BAP on sns. Also, even though we all can agree TS sucks, it’s clear that they go out of their way to avoid any concerns from BABYz. Even though it’s frustrating, before you send them emails, call their offices, or threaten to fly to Korea and punch every employee at TS in the face, PLEASE think of what your words/actions will do to BAP. We don’t know what truly goes on with BAP and TS, so it’s best to remain positive and focuse on promoting the boys and patiently waiting for news from TS and then we can punch everyone if they fuck up as usual :D

Physical Albums

Even though you’re still unsure about buying a physical copy of the album, if you do end up deciding it’s best to buy from stores whose sales count towards charts, such as Gaon and Hanteo. Preordering is also really important for sales within the first week, so here are a few verified stores for each chart in addition to TS Ent.’s official store:

Hanteo: KPopTown, KpopMart, YesAsia (there is a global site and US site, this is the global site link)

Gaon: Melon, MNet

Searching

Searching for BAP online will actually help them gain exposure and hype about their comeback. Simply go on the Naver website or app, type in “BAP ROSE”, click on and share articles on your social media, clear your history, and repeat!

There are also search attacks that we do, in which there are scheduled times for BABYz to search about BAP on Naver in order to get them trending. If you check BAPdomination on Twitter, they post the schedules and search words for each day.

Voting

Voting will help BAP win on music programs, as well as for appearances on various variety shows (which will increase their exposure and popularity). The Vote4BAP Twitter provides info for where streaming/voting can be done.

You can vote for BAP on Show Champion, Inkigayo, Music Bank, Music Core, and MNet Countdown using the tutorials provided by BABYz.

Streaming allows for digital sales, which count for roughly 50% of votes on music shows. In order to stream, you need to purchase passes on sites like Genie or Melon.

Melon

Melon streaming can seem intimidating, but there are literally soooo many wonderful BABYz who are always offering to help set up an account, or even stream for you (a lot of BABYz actually advertise this kind of help on Twitter/Tumblr/Instagram so make sure to stay on your social media grind during comebacks!). In order to stream on Melon, you need to create and account and either use your PC or dowload the mobile app. There’s a document that BABYz made that explains the whole process along with an FAQ if you have any trouble.

TS YouTube Channel

You can also stream the official MV on TS Ent.’s YouTube channel (it’s best to watch the MVs on TS’s channel even though 1theK also posts the MV and has more subscribers [which means more exposure] but really focus on TS’s channel first and foremost. Stream in 720p or above, like/comment/share the MV on all social medias, watch the full MV without pausing AND at a volume above 50%. Also DON’T click replay or refresh the page; instead, play the video incognito or clear your history. You can also create a playlist of just the MV so that it continuously loops.

Tudou

Streaming can also be done on Tudou to help BAP win on THE SHOW. Open this link in incognito mode and click the orange button beside the ROSE MV. You don’t have to watch the whole MV ~ there are two lines when the video loads: orange and gray. Let the gray line load fully after you press play and that counts as a stream. Make sure you don’t mute the video while it’s playing, otherwise it doesn’t count. As always, delete your history/cookies and try from all devices and computers.

Naver TV Cast

Finally, streaming can be done on Naver TV cast, but the options listed above tend to be the most used by fans (especially Tudou - BAP tend to win a lot on THE SHOW since it’s a system solely based on the input of fans’ streaming, but it has been known to be messy sometimes when counting votes so NEVER STOP STREAMING lol).

Fancafe/Daum tutorial

itsBAP actually has a tutorial to make an account to join BAP’s official fanclub, in case anyone was interested in this option as well!

Of course, there are so many ways to support BAP in their comebacks, but above all just being a loyal BABY is the best support you can give! Let’s all work together to make this comeback a success and make 2017 BAP’s year! Fighting! ♡

INFINITE DESERVES BETTER

Inspirits really making me hate my own fandom. You swearing and promising always staying with INFINITE no matter what, but when situations like this coming, all of you are suddenly angry, dissapointed and leaving fandom in seconds, just like during Myungsoo’s dating scandal. That’s why I don’t trust inspirits, other fandoms think that we are friendly fandom, yes we are friendly to other groups and fandoms, but not to our own group. Hoya obviously has really bad depression right now, because of “fans” like you. He’s scared that every fan will leave them and everyone knows how fucking much does he care about his fans, he even said that he loves inspirits more than his family and friends. So how can you dare hurt him like this? Boys go on stage injured, smile no matter of their physical or emotional pain and you can’t wait like 3 months? You’re ungrateful it’s the only thing I can say. We don’t deserve group like INFINITE.
Bye.

Hayden Christensen day in the Star Wars fandom

Today is Hayden’s birthday, and the last week he said in the SWCO that he didn’t knew that the fandom remembered him, I bet that this is cause all the backlash on the prequel trilogy. So to prove him wrong we’re going to promote our love for this sweet human being in every single social media that you can think of. So here by the power of the Force and my own stubbornness as defender of Hayden and Anakin, I declare that from now on April 19th is the Hayden Christensen appreciation day. Reblog with one thing that you like of Hayden or Ani, also post your favorite scenes or moments in your other social media, let’s give this man a bit of love in his birthday cause he deserves it. I’ll start. One of my favorite things from ROTS is how expressive is Hayden’s face when he realizes there’s no turning back after helping killing master Windu, he can’t go back, but he also knows is the only way to save the woman he loves and it’s a beautiful scene. One more thing, this is to show the love on the Star Wars fandom, but not exclusively, you can also speak about other movies or how good guy he is. So come on and let’s do this

New idea: block antis before they can block you.

Yeah, I know I’ll be losing some followers because of this. Fuck it. If you can’t respect other people’s opinions and can’t be half-assed to at least listen to them before criminalizing them, then you can go be hateful somewhere else.

5 Ways Hitch Dreyse Will Outlive All of You

so i have a lot of thoughts about Hitch, and honestly i have never really collected or posted them before but i’ve been thinking about her character a lot lately, and so i decided maybe i should do so. There’s always been stuff floating around about her, and i never really resonated too hard with most of the fandom views, so i think i’ll try putting into my words what i think about her (and some on marlo) as a character and where her position *may* stand right now (if she shows up again.) This wasn’t supposed to get so in depth but it did, and hopefull it can help other people see her better than how she presents herself at face value, becuase she is SO interesting.

Here you are! My first ever meta post!

What happens next may shock you! More under the cut!

Almost every fandom is absolute shit but do you know which one isn’t? Boyfriend’s Best Friends. They are some of the sweetest, most loving, patient, and respectful fandoms I have ever come across. They’re so warm and accepting to new fans, they don’t bash on the other Starship groups despite Starship ignoring Boyfriend, I don’t think they’ve ever gotten involved in any fandom drama even when Boyfriend were huge. They’re so lovely. Glad that there’s a fandom I can be proud to be a part of.

I’ve just been smacked in the face with anxiety and realisation that Wynonna Earp might not be renewed.

I can’t believe this show isn’t getting loads of attention! You’ve got a strong characters, a heavy amount of sarcasm and humour, with a nice handful of horror and storylines that are beautifully written and acted.

The cast and crew interact with their viewers hilariously on Twitter and live tweet every episode. The additional content that is released after every episode (behind the scenes and other good stuff) is amazing.

The fandom is phenomenal compared to other bigger fandoms (my opinion). We don’t really fight about ships, especially with Wynonna, Doc and Dolls because I think a lot of us don’t mind either of the characters and believe polyamory would be a great option. And yes I must mention wayhaught because I have never seen a wlw relationship written so well (I would know I’ve seen/tried all the wlw couple YouTube videos or every tv show and movie that even has a touch of wlw).

Overall, please watch this show! I’m sure a lot of you can agree that this show is a breathe of fresh air for television. Wynonna Earp is brilliant and I’m sure if you give it a chance you’ll agree too.

Sometimes you’ll read someone else’s work and think it’s impossibly creative. You’ll think there’s no way in hell you can come up with something that good. Eventually, you’ll read even more stories that capture your imagination in one way or another.

And when you sit down to write, to come up with your own little jewel, you’ll think to yourself, “I can never come up with something that creative. Nobody will ever read my stuff and say 'Damn, this is one of the best things I’ve ever read.’” You think you can’t possibly do something new in the fandom, at least nothing near that level of awesome.

Here’s the thing though: you can. Don’t look at your plot and compare it to that of others. It won’t stack up in your own mind simply because it’s in your own mind. It will seem bright and brand new to others, and they will love your stories… as long as you put your heart into your writing, someone will find a deep appreciation for it.

Just keep trying, keep working, keep getting better. Write. Every day, write something. You can write something amazing. We all can.

Self-belief can take you a long way. Forget writing, just live your life that way.
