Oliver/Felicity, a bike ride that goes slightly wrong when they run out of has. (Bonus if Felicity finds a way to, ahem, distract him while they wait for help.)
Title: Every Mile A Memory Category: Arrow Word Count: 1000 Rating: M A/N: Thanks to effie214 for the prompt. Title taken from the Dierks Bentley song of the same name. Summary: “I didn’t realize I was quite that distracting though.” Read: AO3 or here.
Do me a favor and shine a light on all those syllables tongue couldn’t touch when it was love drunk. Emotional inebriation comes in waves and leaves me lightheaded stretching aching fingers towards some hope of recapturing scent on skin; the distance is dizzying. I will willingly count every mile like a shepherd counts his sheep. Old lore has made it seem as if those men watching flocks weathered the night out of love and compassion but I tell you now it was dependency. Because the livestock is just that, a stock set in living through another, and I must rely on the numerical exactitude of our deplorable miles because I depend on them too.
EVERY mile counts. EVERY step counts. Whether it’s a hard and grueling workout or an easy run- every. single. step. counts! You are a runner whether you run a marathon, a half marathon, 10k, 5k, mile, 100m, or if you’ve never run in a race in your life. You are a runner for stepping out that front door when all you want to do is go back to bed. You are a runner for putting one foot down after the other and pounding that pavement. You are a runner for braving the elements- whether it be sun, rain, wind, snow, hail, you name it. You are a runner for never giving up when the going gets tough. You are a runner for being brave enough to do what most won’t. You are a runner.
