  7.  Love love you (Love’s Coming 2) - haven’t watched this yet, but the trailers are just, ooommph! If ever you have a copy PM me XD
  8.  Like love Series 1-2 -I love the uncut scenes the most. And the story gets better xD
  9.  Junjou Pure Heart - sweeeeteeest ever!  really, those awwww moments xD
  10. ***Fanatic Love - Game themed BL coming through! I loved the side characters especially the sister <3 Must watch!
  11.  Waterboyy the movie - a must watch especially to those fans who have been missing love sick series xD Ngern-oppa is sooo hot here.
  12. Uncontrolled Love- Finally, Master x Servant BL!!! the uke is soo cute and seme is sooo possessive can’t wait for the second part!
  13. ***My bromance:the reunion - this is the series remake of the movie my bromance. and thank goodness that in the first season nobody dies! a different conflict altogether but still the same plot.
  14.  Counter Attack Web series - QingYu for the win xDD. they are sooooo married. I also recommend their photoshoot sessions, more kissing scenes than the series xD loving the doctor’s cow licked hair, kawaiiii xD
  15.  Addicted/Heroin Web Series - Sweetest punk I ever watched really. I wish for uncut scenes! and I demand a continuation!
  16. ***Ame to kisu - Love this movie! it made me read the manga and you will love how cute the uke is and how the story was very well portrayed in the movie
  17. *** The right man - there are only a few BL movies/series who would portray the love of a parent and their worries. i loved this film because other than the love story unfolding, the relationship between the mother and the son progresses too <3
  18. Yandaixie No.10- honestly, the story has a lot of promise! it was very good but I didn’t like how the first season ended being them still in bad terms…then hearing that there won’t be a second season!!!! or so i heard.
  19. ***SOTUS - hazers! hihihi. if you’re ooking for a cute-tsundere uke then this is what you’re looking for! it has the all goody kissing scenes and a very good college plot. very recommended
  20.  Love’s Coming - Nai x Gump xDDD
  21. Love Place 2(Shiawase no Katachi)- A continuation of Love Place 1. Finally an English sub that I’ve been waiting! Typical BL story, most of the time you can read in a manga but you can feel the characters feeling very deeply!
  22.  Grey Rainbow - Has every thing I want in a BL,marriage, sweet moments and even a kid! and it also has something I didn’t like…death! why!?!
  23.  Doushitemo Furetakunai - the story is great and is really based on the manga. Loved the characters. this is my first BL ever just forgot to post teehee :P !!!
  24. ***HIStory webseries: My Hero - so this is one of the ghost themed BL. Comedic. but I do not like that the ghost girl experienced all the sweet moments using the boy’s body. oops spoiler. BTW the seme is sooo hot *wink*
  25.  To you for me–chocolates - I laughed at this BL so much. It really portrayed the case of miracles to two people that should be in love. wonder when it will end?
  26.  Paternity Leave - you’ll love it, Mpreg xDD
  27.   eCupid - movie about the greatest app for semes who take advantage of their uke’s love xD
  28.  Just Friends? - hottest and sweetest forbidden love I have ever watched!! sadly it was tooooo short for a very good plot movie xD
  29.  Udagawachou de mattete yo - sooo cute! as in supeer!!! one of the best live action next to Doushitemo Furetakunai <3 <3
  30. ***HIStory Webseries: Stay away from me - brother’s theme! yehey! though I wished for more sweetness. the eyes of the uke seem to catch my attention a lot in a not so okay way. but I STILL LOVED IT.
  31.   Two Weddings and a funeral - I loved the comedy aspect of it. It mainly focused on the life of gays and how the ‘two weddings” conquered it with love. but why Tina !?!?! why ?!?!?!
  32.   My Bromance - I love the on-relationship scenes but I just hope the ending was not when one dies. I bawled for this one,it’s like rising you up,then pulling you dooown, why!?!?!?waaah! But the story was really good!
  33.  Happy together - loved the couple sooo much! being 6 years together, those fights and make-ups seems like a typical married life
  34. Oppressive Love - half-horror and half BL and they actually became a couple! to bad the older brother had to possess him…ooops spoiler ;-P
  35.  Ai no kotodama 2
  36. ***Bad romance the series - another side story BL but because they started the series already together and the ending was so sweet so it is okay.
  37. ***I’m here our twelve years is a reincarnation legend - short shounen ai chinese BL. if you’re on to watching just the sweet, innocent stuff, then this is good for you :)
  38.  Takuya and Joon jae “the lover” - you may be a bit disappointed because it is missing some smexy moments like kissing and “you-know” but the story is great with lots of laughs and sweetness. hoping for season 2
  39. ***Love Complex - this is a thai series but the BL part is a side story and doesn’t develop much though it is still on the first two episodes. some of you may not like it because it is on a side story but promise, the main story is very funny.
  40.  Docchi mo Docchi - may be low budget, but that romcom theme was perfectly executed xD sooo funny xD
  41.  Itsuka no kimi e - loved the story so much. It was like reading Junjou Pure Heart again xD soooo cute! Wishing for more kiss scenes though.
  42.  Ai no kotodama 1
  43.  Seven Days Monday-Thursday, Friday-Sunday - perfectly executed as of those of the manga
  44. Hollyoaks (Ste and Harry) - lots of problems; closet gay, HIV, parents are against, even teachers then there are also cocaine involvement. wut?! haha but the story and how they still get back together is what makes it great.
  45.  Diary of Tootsies - Very very funny!! as in very funny! but they left Gus and Top’s story hanging, which is what I’ve been waiting…sigh
  46.  Fujimi orchestra live action - it’s like the BL version of Nodame Cantabile. the movie needs a sequel. it’s not that they did not end up together but the movie ended with the seme still pursuing the uke xD
  47.  Go go go G boys - very funny, packed with hot bishies. Last part after credits is a must seen
  48. Farewell my ghost boyfriend - short movie. I’m not on vote on the new ship. i still wish there was some kind of miracle for the ghost. huhu
  49.  Love Place - I preferred the part two (2) than the first one, more Bl action, though it is still not translated
  50.  Boku no Kareshi wo Shoukai Shimasu - was hoping for more kiss scenes xD
  51.  Gloomy Salad days - ep13-14 only. Hidoku Shinaide story, bully and the bullied. You’ll be hoping for more.
  52.  Love of Siam - honestly, a good plot, really. It just needs some tweaks on that bad ending, urgh. Hoping for season 2 to change it.
  53. I’m yours - a one-sided love of a robot to a human and he’s quest to help the guy to achieve love. it was badly cut, I don’t know. it was missing some parts when I watched it so I am still heavily confused.
  54.  Love next door 2 - Watched XD but still looking for subs. but very promising especially in terms of comedy and hotness.
  55.  Mr x and I - First Season: First and Second story only, the other two has horrible ending, I advise this to those who do not wish to see a sad ending. Second Season: Loved the ending, hated the hetero guy, urggghh
  56.   Princess Princess D - actually, this is a live action adapted from a shoujo manga. full of fanservice and crossdressers and will leave you laughing at the clichès and corniness.
  57.  Love next door - the story escalated quickly and the ‘love’ (sweetness) I was searching for was too short in the plot.
  58.  A Pair of Love - so-so xD
  59.  Time line - Watch the first couple only, and/or the last one. never ever the second one, it still gives me goose bumps till now
  60. Me my familiar people - uhhh…actually I didnt quite get the story. it was soo confusing. its like he has s*x to another then I don’t know maybe his bestfriend too?
  61.  Teacher and student - because I was expecting that light, romantic theme I was deeply disappointed by that twist as it turns out to be too psychological. One of my least favorites next to Kindan no Koi.
  62.  Kindan no koi - simple……i hated it. the plot twist at the end was just tooo much, really, too much. Still a good movie though, but definitely my least favorite.

This is an edited list XD those with *** are newly posted as of April 4. Will update for more lateerrr! Ask me for links if ever you are interested xDDD hehehe

31 Horrific Days [October Writing Challenge]

So it’s still September, BUT the month of Halloween is quickly approaching and I figured some people may like to get a head start on this so they have things to post! Here are 31 prompts for writing, one for each day of October. Skip any days that irk you or that you just don’t have the time and energy for, but feel free to use the tag #31horrificdays so others can see your work! As always, the prompts are up for interpretation and are meant to inspire a plot rather than dictate how it goes - all fandoms, original characters, or even a changing cast is more than welcome! [I may do a part 2 of vague, one-word prompts for those who want something more flexible].

  1. The character goes out on a date (or an outing with a friend) and comes home late that night to see all of their furniture moved/stacked oddly, rotten food in the fridge, but no signs of entry or security issues.
  2. The character learns through conversation that one of their friends hates Halloween.
  3. The character is distressed from several nights of nightmares/sleep paralysis, all of which leave them waking up terrified. Eventually, what they see in their dreams start to blend into reality.
  4. Write a story about supernatural happenings.. from the POV of a character’s pet.
  5. Write a story about a character receiving threatening letters in the mailbox that keep getting scarier and more dangerous every day through the month.
  6. The character, along with one or more others, decide to visit a local haunted house attraction that’s just opened up.
  7. Halloween is rolling around and an odd fair has come to town with all manner of old-fashioned clowns, fire-eaters, and jugglers. The character(s) get their hands on tickets to see the show and cannot resist.
  8. After hearing about an abandoned house in the neighborhood that was supposedly the scene of a gruesome crime years earlier, the character and a friend or two decide to explore the property.
  9. A fun, creepy night of urban exploration gets the character(s) into trouble.
  10. While spending some time at the beach at night, the character comes across something else moving near the shore, something that may or may not be human at all.
  11. The character didn’t plan on any costume for Halloween this year, but their best friend/partner wants to go shopping for the perfect costumes, perhaps even as a themed pair.
  12. Write a plot about a character meeting a fae creature, but realizing they aren’t as pretty and delicate as the fairy tales made them believe.
  13. After watching a horror movie, the character claims there weren’t scared at all. However, once the house is quiet and dark, they’re suddenly hiding under their covers in fear.
  14. With Halloween approaching, weird people have been hanging around town. Very weird people. ‘People in masks standing outside of houses’ weird people, including the character’s house.
  15. Two character end up in a battle over which is better: ghostly horror movies or monster movies?
  16. After the death of a friend or family member, the character (and possibly one or a few others) finds a hidden trap door in their home while cleaning out their belongings. Inside, they uncover secrets the deceased was hiding.
  17. The character makes a new friend who claims to be an actual witch. They end up proving it to them with an impressive display of magic (if the preferred character is actually a witch, feel free to change the POV)
  18. The character ends up locked in another reality where everything around them is just a bit ‘off’, as well as the fact that no one seems to recognize them. Then they meet one other character who does remember them, and appears to be going through the same thing.
  19. The character has a run-in with someone from their past; someone they know for a fact has been dead for years.
  20. The character has had a near-death experience, and is seeing a few moments between worlds before they’re brought back to life.
  21. The character(s) have a run-in with an odd trick-or-treater a week before Halloween, but the eerie child refuses to leave their doorstep
  22. The character, along with one other, travels to the Suicide Forest in Japan (or another famous haunted wilderness of writer’s choice) and uncovers something grisly, or perhaps even gets lost and disoriented.
  23. The muse meets up with an old friend or family member, and together they find home videos from their childhood Halloweens. This could be either a heartwarming experience, or an eerie one if they see something spooky they didn’t remember from their past.
  24. The character starts a brand new job, but quickly learns that there are warnings that come with the job. No wonder they can’t keep employees for more than a few days.
  25. The character (one or more others are optional as well) has been kidnapped and locked in a cellar, trying to find the means of escape.
  26. Write a ghost story including any characters of your choice, with one twist: the story takes place in a past decade or century.
  27. The character has just moved to a new city and isn’t familiar with anyone or anything. As they’re taking a walk late at night to relieve their stress, they have an eerie feeling that they’re being followed down every block.
  28. Write a horror plot centered around a gas station (petrol station).
  29. The character lost a beloved pet a year earlier, and finally decides it’s time to bring home a new shelter pet to love. They’re magnetically drawn to one animal in particular, but once they take it home, they start to suspect that this animal may not be ordinary at all.
  30. Write a story from the perspective of a legendary monster (lagoon creature, zombie, sea monster, yeti, etc)
  31. It’s Halloween night - write a story about a costume party or get-together going terribly wrong.

@zsaszmatazz tagged me to do the “six movies I can watch any time” meme (LIKE 10 YEARS AGO I’M SORRY) so here goes!

1. Road to El Dorado

Don’t tell me you can’t also watch this whenever. It’s lolzy, it’s feelsy, and it’s the source of one of my three OT3s. If Miguel/Tulio wasn’t allowed to be canon, I’m making Miguel/Chel/Tulio my headcanon dammit. Fight me.

The story is a fantastic adventure every time. The music is amazing, the animation is GORGEOUS. The jokes are funny no matter how many times I hear them. “Stars.” “Holy ship.” “Apparently ‘El Dorado’ is native for GREAT… BIG… ROCK.”

And don’t get me started on the armadillo. Is that thing a spirit guide? A god? Probably. I’m for it.

2. Chicken Run

I consider this one a guilty pleasure. Again, always a funny, fun adventure. Just serious enough to balance out the lolz. And Ginger is one hell of a snarky character. I love that she’s simultaneously mom friend and rebel friend.

Also, it’s that claymation Wallace and Gromit animation, which is just… nifty! I always find myself watching certain characters move, checking out different textures, especially with Babs and her knitting. Just… excellent.

Also, also this:

3. Stardust

What can I say about this movie? Well…

I was based on a book written by my favorite author, Neil Gaiman, is a fantastic adventure that addresses the line between magic and non-magic worlds and includes such fun things as evil witches, falling in love, warring princes, falling stars, unicorns, ghosts, and sky pirates in drag (which Neil said he’s pretty sure he didn’t write, but it’s such a good scene you guys).

I am always happy by the end of it. The growing-up story is so good. And Tristan kind of bumbles through it like I totally believe I would were I thrown into a story like that. It’s just… such a satisfyingly complete and fun story, and I love it every single time.

4. Megamind

Shut the hell your mouth this is the best villain-to-hero story I know. I am always so proud of Megamind. Like, real talk, how often does our favorite adorable villain get the girl? How often do we get to see the bumbling bad guy actually get a cool-ass happy ending? And the emotional journey he goes on gets just serious enough without killing the funny vibe the whole movie carries.

The writing is tropey, but in a way that totally plays on those tropes while making fun of them. Trope-ception is my favorite trope. And I love, love, LOVE the design choices. This movie is so colorful, and the proportions are so over the top. It’s just a visual salad.

And, as always, the jokes are good no matter what. I don’t think I’ll ever get over, “And I love you, random citizen!” This movie is such a fun time, please go watch it.

5. Strange Magic

Have you heard of this movie? Well, now you have. Please go watch it.

Much like Megamind, Strange Magic got pushed to the back burner by more popular movies coming out at the same time. And that’s just a shame, because it’s just so good.

It’s a jukebox musical with reenactments of all sorts of songs, all of which are brilliant (half the time because Evan Rachel Wood My Queen is singing them, but also Alan Cumming, and sometimes they sing together and I die). The story is predictable, but the characters are what make it for me. They’re fun enough that even though I saw the end coming a mile away, it was nothing but enjoyable watching them get there.

This fandom is also dear to my heart. It’s full of some of the sweetest people with some of the most interesting fan fiction that I’ve ever read. When I think good writing, I think @abutterflyobsession who has made me cry on more than one occasion, and @jaegereska whose lore and OCs add so much to the world beyond the movie.

Major draws: good music, lovely animation, self-confidence story, princess with a sword, SWEET SWEET VENGEANCE, and did I mention singing by Evan Rachel Wood, Alan Cumming, and Kristin Chenoweth? Bruh.

6. Labyrinth

My favorite movie for now and always. Set it at the bottom for full effect. Get ready.

First off, music by David Bowie that is fuckin’ catchy as heck. If you don’t want to at least tap your foot along to ‘Dance Magic Dance’ you’re lying. ‘As the World Falls Down’ was the first song I remember wanting to know the lyrics to.

Side note: If you didn’t think the Fireys were creepy as fuck, you’re also lying.

There has never been so much glitter in one place ever. The visual gags are always funny. Like, there are Bowie faces I still can’t find to this day hidden in the scenery??? The muppets are all adorable because Brian Froud is amazing, and I want a pet goblin. Everything is just so much fun to look at. Don’t even get me started on the ridiculous fantasy fulfillment that is the ballroom scene. I just.

The jokes are always funny because they run on a dry sense of humor like mine. “Well, come on feet.” One I missed for years. “No, that’s the dead end, behind you!” Ha, hubris. “It’s a piece of cake!” Shut up, Sarah…

But you also can’t not love the characters? Like, come on, who doesn’t wanna hug Ludo just a little. And Didymus, the fox knight that rides a fuckin’ tiny dog into battle?? And Hoggle who collects jewelry and pretends to be bitter as hell but cares so much??? Heck off, they’re all awesome.

Fave movie. Always.

Honorable Mention: Big Fish

Added this one because I can watch this any time, but it always makes me cry, so I usually save it for when I need a good cry. (Srsly, @may10baby can vouch, I once tried to explain the end to her and started sobbing in the car).

It’s just such a cool story. We get to see the life of the father as told through his own hyperbolic stories, which include a star-studded cast playing funny scenes in between serious family time. And the end… christ, it’s just such a satisfying ending. Such a good play on storytelling and what it can mean to people. Which, as a writer, means a lot to me.

Also, it’s the only Tim Burton movie I’ve seen that doesn’t look like… that. You know. How Burton movies look. Helena Bonham Carter plays like 3 different people, and none of them are Mrs. Lovett. That’s a feat, honestly.

I’ve said this about a few of these, but please watch this movie.

otgw headcanon: sara genuinely loves creepy stuff and is insulted every time jason tries to scare her with a ‘ghost story’. sara will explain random ‘true accounts’ of monster stories to wirt for hours and only stops if wirt starts to get a little scared.

she loves it. give her the Undying Horror. The Tremendous Terror. The Fight or Fright response.

Wirt gets her an anthology of horror stories for her birthday and she writes them for fun on the side- she’s not the best at writing new ones but she can retell a story like no other (she could absolutely be a horror youtuber in modern day)

Hey, podcast people. Are you looking for the next audio drama to fall in love with? Are you a fan of weird but heartfelt stories? Do you have an inexplicable passion for public transit? Are you listening to Greater Boston yet? Do you like

  • stories with unique and unusual premises?
  • audio dramas that use the medium of sound to their advantage in creative ways?
  • amazing soundtracks?
  • ghosts, maybe?
  • innovation in terms of format and storytelling that is so clever and well-crafted and fun that it fills my little writer’s heart with joy every episode?
  • mild surreality and “weird fiction”?
  • (or just regional gothic memes?)
  • Dunkin Donuts?
  • slice-of-life stories that still build a great central plot?
  • mysterious messages from tuna-eating corporate executives?
  • deep sea exploration?
  • LGBTQIA+ characters? (cranky lesbian moms! gay characters! ace characters!)
  • political intrigue?
  • human beings named “Extinction Event”?
  • ensemble casts of incredibly well-developed characters with their own unique arcs and motivations as well as complex and interesting interpersonal relationships?
  • Molasses???

Then this could be the podcast for you! You’ll laugh! You’ll cry! You’ll probably get way too attached to a dead guy’s Google Calendar! Seriously, try Greater Boston! It’s an amazing show that’s not receiving anywhere near enough love around here and it deserves more attention.

First there was Lumberjack Cassian... Get ready for: Fisherman Azriel

_______________

• Think of how great he would be with knots and ropes. Elain finds out how talented in quite a pleasurable way.

• Elain, his lighthouse keeper. The light that guides him home.

• Azriel’s arms being faaaaantastic from working on the boat. You can see them through any sweater or shirt he wears.

• Not to mention the fact that sailors are famous for being tattooed. He has plenty. Elain has one, a small knot around the third finger of her left hand.

• When he’s away, Elain will send him messages in bottles. Hoping they’ll find their way to him.

• As he tows himself in, she’ll wait outside on a bench that Cassian had made for them as a wedding gift, making chains of daisies as she’s impatient to welcome him home. To kiss him, to help wash away the smell of the ocean, feed him dinner, then wrap her legs around him and show him just how much she missed him.

• Consider these lyrics for Elriel:

“I will live my life as a fisherman’s wife on an island in the blue bay
He will take care of me, he will smell like the sea
And close to my heart he’ll always stay

I will bear three girls all with strawberry curls, little Ella and Nelly and Faye
While I’m combing their hair, I will catch his warm stare
On our island in the blue bay”

• Azriel holding Elain in their hammock outside as they listen to the night time waves crashing on the rocks. Humming sea shanties as she falls asleep in his arms.

• On cold windy nights when the power shuts off, they huddle by the fire (with wood supplied by Cassian, of course) and he’ll tell her tales of the sea. Ghost stories, love stories. Azriel loves seeing Elain’s animated reactions, so he’ll go on for hours.

• During the summer, they’ll make a tent from bedsheets to camp in just outside their house. His latest catch cooking on the fire as she roasts marshmallows.

• Elain spends most of her days in the greenhouse that he and his brothers built for her.

• Every weekend they borrow Cassian’s truck to drive into town and take their goods to market. Though their fish and herbs and vegetables are top quality, it’s their charm and smiles that have them sold out by the afternoon.
- They spend the rest of the afternoon walking hand in hand, eating the onion bagel sandwiches (his favorite) that Elain had made from scratch, as well as dates and figs they purchased from other sellers.
- When the sun sets and the musicians come out to play, Azriel takes the bag from Elain’s arm and sets it on a nearby bench.
Extending his hand, which she takes, he spins her into a dance. They sway under the trees and streetlights as they both bask in how happy they are to have found each other.

• The Gardener and The Fisherman.
- “They loved with a love that was more than love in their kingdom by the sea…”

almost is such a sad word. they were almost together. he almost loved her. she almost stayed. they almost made it.

i almost became a ghost. maybe i still will. i am nearly a ghost, an imprint left behind in that town.

i’m going to change the fate of my broken heart.

we almost had a chance, you know. every sad story is about them leaving, but in my story i left him. and who knows if he even cares. if he does, i’m so sorry.

Absolution - Part 1

Masterlist  Part 2

Summary: Bucky must figure out how to live with some of his worst memories when he can’t shake one particular ghost from his past.

Prompt(s): Could you do a Bucky story inspired by Murder Song - Aurora?

Warnings: AAAAANNNNGGSSTTT so much angst. Ok, we’ve got swearing, nightmares, looks at Bucky’s captivity and the unpleasantness related to it, murdery sadness, I think that covers it?

Word Count: 1712

Author’s Note: I got carried away because I love this artist… I will be posting this story in 3 parts. I’m queuing them to post at 4pm Eastern every day, so I won’t be opening a new tag list for this one.

“James?” His voice was gentle, but a little insistent. Bucky blinked quickly a few times before lifting his eyes to his doctor. He must have called his name a few times, judging by the concerned way his eyebrows drew down just slightly and the gentle urging in his tone.

“Sorry,” Bucky mumbled, not quite meeting his eye. “I’m here.”

“Okay,” the therapist acknowledged calmly, “Want to tell me where you went?”

Bucky’s chest swelled with the deep breath he drew in. He held it, trying to steady himself before releasing it slowly through clenched teeth. He felt the minutes tick by, knowing he needed to say something. He did trust this man, had been pretty honest with him up until this point. But this was the point where things got messy, became… ugly.

“No.”

skin clings to skin
soul wraps around soul
and the heart that pounds in the quiet
I don’t know if it’s yours or mine

and my hands bury in your hair
and your hands trace my skin
and the words seem to falter, the worlds seem to shatter

and I know when they dig up my bones
they’ll find you etched on my remains
so I clutch what I find and my body breaks, making room for you

the smoke I breathe in, the ghosts I’m chasing
there’s a war, battles waging on every corner
and the burning to be a legend, to follow the drums of ruin

it doesn’t compare to the pull I feel
when I hear your voice whisper my name
and even though I’m in the center of a inferno,
I have never felt more at peace, with our souls fused together

I love that song. And so far, when we’ve played A Sky Full of Stars in the few concerts that we’ve done, there’s such a collective feeling of “Fuck it, let’s just sing.”  … It’s the most important song we’ve ever had, lyrically. Because every time I sing it I’m like “Yep, that’s how I want to live my life.”- Chris Martin on A Sky Full of Stars x

  • Victor’s earliest memories was watching his Mothers hold hands while eating breakfast, and watching Mom giggle her way through their romance story still blushing 15 years later.

  • Victor by the time he hit 18 had read every trope of romance novel imaginable. Libraries, used bookstores, and Lilia’s Collection making him have only the highest expectations for love.

  • The background music to his time off (Aka icing his feet, conditioning his hair, and saving his skin from the woes of performance makeup) was Titanic, Moulin Rouge, and Ghost.

  • He absolutely had a poster of Fabio on his wall growing up.

  • Suffice to say when he met Yuuri he saw the opening of his own love story and he ran for it. Dropped everything in the name of love.

  • He learned love isn’t just grand musical numbers, walks on the beach, and running to the airport at the last second.

  • Love is rolling over and cuddling for an extra five minutes in the morning. It’s kissing Yuuri just because he can. It’s Makkachin being the happiest he’s ever seen her because she has two Dads.

  • It’s Yuuri sticking his freezing hands up the back of his shirt because he’s cold, and Victor’s warm back IS RIGHT THERE.

  • Victor’s love story is Yuuri reading the news, biting his lip, and sliding his hand forward without even realizing it to hold his because it’s muscle memory at this point.

  • Victor wouldn’t change a thing about his love story.

  • I would by lying if I didn’t say the moment Yuuri carried him across the sand in a billowing white shirt on their honeymoon didn’t fufill at least 80 of Victor’s fantasies.

How do you headcanon Padmé pregnancy? Was it something she wanted? Or Anakin? Did they discuss about it? They wanted to keep their relationship a secret so… A baby would have been a problem isn't? They live in a world where everything seems possible so birth control methods shouldn't be a problem… I'm quite puzzled tbh.

I can’t think of any specific headcanon at the moment, sorry. but I think it was something the both wanted more than anything. I don’t think it was planned but judging by their reaction it was something they desired for themselves. Both that strong familial bonds and they both wanted a family of their own. I think deep down that’s why they got married. Their relationship wasn’t about only passionate desire, it was commitment. It was about starting something lasting.

I believe they discussed the future in abstract terms and only about the “distant” future. I guess my headcanon is that they talked about Anakin leaving the Order one day and the two of them living together, openly, as a family. I doubt they had time to go into too much specifics, like the number of kids, where they would live or where Anakin would work.

Yes, the pregnancy was problem because it exposed their marriage:

“And she watched that joy fade as he began to understand that their marriage could not stay hidden much longer; that even the voluminous robes she wore could not conceal a pregnancy forever. That he would be cast out in disgrace from the Jedi Order. That she would be relieved of her post and recalled to Naboo. That the very celebrity that had made him so important to the war would turn against them both, making them the freshest possible meat for an entire galaxy full of scandalmongers. And she watched him decide that he didn’t care. [matthew stover – ROTS novelization]

Padmé, I think, was for more aware of the consequences of the pregnancy and their secret marriage than Anakin (who thought that leaving the Order would have been easy and enough).

“She looked away. “I had been thinking—about going somewhere … somewhere else. Having the baby in secret, to protect you. So you can stay in the Order.”

“I don’t want to stay in the Order!” He took her face between his palms so that she had to look into his eyes, so that she had to see how much he meant every word he said. “Don’t protect me. I don’t need it. We have to start thinking, right now, about how we can protect you. Because all I want is for us to be together.” [matthew stover – ROTS novelization]

In a way, I think they were both wrong. Anakin was wrong to believe they would have just left him (powerful and increasingly unstable) and his children go without questions. I doubt the Jedi would have become violent like forcefully claiming Luke and Leia or arresting Anakin but I think Anakin would have to explain himself before leaving (and they would probably keep an eye on him and his kids).

Padmé was wrong in how much people still worshipped the Jedi. She knew about the negative public opinion but I don’t think she understood how immune Anakin was to that (thanks to Palpatine). At that time, Anakin was a celebrity for saving the chancellor and the Republic but the Jedi Order was seen as a declining self-serving wizards. Sure, people would be shocked at first but eventually Anakin leaving would only make him look even better. And, let’s face it, Palpatine would use the opportunity to turn the public against the jedi by leaking stories about the dumb decisions of the Council (ghost prison) and how Anakin had stood up to them. Besides, who can resist a story about forbidden love? the Jedi hero and the Senator, i’d bet they would make a holomovie out of it :P

As for the birth control, well… who knows? lol Honestly, I can’t think of any reason why someone as aware as they were of the consequences of their secret marriage would leave something like this to chance. Anakin was away for months sometimes and they only spent a few days together every once in a while so maybe it was something they didn’t deem necessary. Maybe Palpatine had her diaphragm pierced (:P). Maybe they decided to just go with it and see what happens or maybe George Lucas just wanted her pregnancy to be a surprise lol

Hi, I love your tumblr, and I learn something every time you post. I just wanted to ask if you know of any good books/resource to start learning more about PH mythology? I grew up in the US, so the only information I have about them come from my parent's stories, but I would love to learn more.

Thank you! As for the resource, you can start browsing from these two post

philippine mythology & folklore masterpost by @silahis

Filipino Mythology, Ghost Stories, Folktales and Superstitions masterpost by @shackleboltrps

They took the effort to compile all the sources they found for easier access to us.

As for book I personally love Damiana Eugenio’s Philippine Folk Literature Series ( the second volume is my favorite, no surprise there as it pertains to Myth ). It’s an excellent collection of mythology covering all regions of the Philippines. It’s the most thorough book of resource of our folklore that I’ve found.

Hope this helps :)

4/5 Stars.

David Foster Wallace’s final, incomplete novel is literally a book about boredom, dullness and the IRS. Why would anyone ever bother reading about that? Well, partly because Wallace had an knack for making anything transcendent. But the main reason, perhaps, is one that Wallace presents as one of the books main theses: there’s virtue in enduring dullness.

“To me, at least in retrospect, the really interesting question is why dullness proves to be such a powerful impediment to attention. Why we recoil from the dull. Maybe it’s because dullness is intrinsically painful; maybe that’s where phrases like ‘deadly dull’ or 'excruciatingly dull’ come from. But there might be more to it. Maybe dullness is associated with psychic pain because something that’s dull or opaque fails to provide enough stimulation to distract people from some other, deeper type of pain that’s always there, if only in an ambient, low-level way, and which most of us spend nearly all our time and energy trying to distract ourselves from feeling, or at least from feeling directly or with our full attention.”

The Pale King is comprised of a series of anecdotes about employees at the IRS Regional Examination Center in Peoria, Illinois. It’s disjointed and unfinished, with not a whole lot of narrative cohesion. In some ways, it’s an interesting companion piece to Infinite Jest: where Infinite Jest focuses on the problems of a modern American culture saturated in mind-numbing entertainment and distraction, The Pale King offers somewhat of a solution to living a meaningful life within this reality.

If you’ve ever read or listened to Wallace’s commencement speech, “This Is Water,” it’s sort of a hyper-condensed version of the solution offered in The Pale King. We’re each tasked with constructing meaning out of experience and choosing what and how we pay attention to the world around us. What Wallace seems to be suggesting is that we must have the self-discipline to deliberately endure the inevitable tedium and dullness of day-to-day adult life without succumbing to endless distraction.

“The key is the ability, whether innate or conditioned, to find the other side of the rote, the picayune, the meaningless, the repetitive, the pointlessly complex. To be, in a word, unborable. It is the key to modern life. If you are immune to boredom, there is literally nothing you can’t accomplish.”

Wallace loved playing around with form, and The Pale King is a testament to this. It’s a book about boredom and dullness, and so Wallace made it intentionally boring and dull. There are entire chapters dedicated to IRS codes. There’s 50+ pages of a man showing up for his first day of work. And yet there’s such brilliance within these pages. Take, for example, the beautiful phrase “every love story is a ghost story” sandwiched arbitrarily in between dozens of sentences about IRS agents turning pages. Or the chapter-long anecdote about a little boy whose goal “was to be able to press his lips to every square inch of his own body"—a passage that will haunt me for the rest of my life. The novel itself proves Wallace’s point: that if you discipline yourself to pay attention and endure tedium, you will be deeply rewarded.

"Almost everything you pay close direct attention to becomes interesting,” says one character, Wallace’s equivalent of a modern-day hero, toward the end of the book. We live in an age where we’re constantly bombarded with information, entertainment and stimuli. If, as Wallace suggests, “almost everything” has the potential to be interesting, this is even further incentive to make smart, disciplined choices about where we direct our attention.

I highly recommend this book for fans of David Foster Wallace who want further insight into where his mind was at in the later part of his life.

Chicago. It’s insane and violent and corrupt and vital and artistic and noble and cruel and wonderful. It’s full of greed and hope and hate and desire and excitement and pain and happiness. The air sings with screams and laughter, with sirens, with angry shouts, with gunshots, with music. It’s an impossible city, at war with itself, every horrible and wonderful thing blending together to create something terrifying and lovely and utterly unique.

i love you in ways i thought were impossible; i love you.

it goes like this: a boy falls in love. a boy falls in love with another boy, makes a home in the heart of six and they are happy.

for a while.

*

in jungkook’s hair: the cold warm grip of yoongi’s fingers. in jungkook’s eyes: the secret laughter of yoongi’s joy. in jungkook’s mouth: a kiss a kiss a kiss that sets him dreaming all the time.

*

a piano that sings for both of them is safe enough, dangerous enough. jungkook remembers a piano from childhood, how he wanted to destroy it because it stopped speaking to him. and it’s not that yoongi is the answer to all his mistakes, but sometimes when yoongi’s elbow invades his personal space at the bench, it feels like he’s the answer to some of them. lights burst and jungkook throws his head back, his throat a sharp line of trust in the on and off dark. he feels yoongi smile the same as he feels their friends cluster in around them: the tide incoming.

*

it goes like this: a boy cannot save himself but he tries to save other people.

*

yoongi shouldn’t taste like blood and jungkook tells him so. yoongi laughs red but it sounds like crying when he mumbles, “look who’s talking.”

*

when yoongi isn’t home, he goes to the same motel, the same room, the same far-down place in his heart. jungkook finds him because of course he finds him.

reaching him is another matter.

*

sometimes jungkook lies down on the bed and waits to be noticed and sometimes waiting is all that happens.

*

it feels out of order; they feel out of order. on the ground: glass that is glass but is also a mirror, water and blood, and roses grave with longing.

if red roses are for destined love, they say blue is just as true.

just not quite as fortunate.

*

what hurts jungkook the most: yoongi’s trembling hands pushing through jungkook’s hair, yoongi’s trembling mouth against his split lip murmuring how sorry he is, asking jungkook to do the one thing jungkook fears the most.

*

it’s not that he doesn’t see the car.

* * *

in yoongi’s dreams, jungkook lies in the grass at his side. namjoon is near. they are all together with their individual problems. maybe this is true in yoongi’s waking world as well.

if only he could be sure.

*

say jungkook followed him like a love story like a ladder missing so many rungs the reach became almost too far. say something like that.

then yoongi follows jungkook like a ghost like a love story that remembers losing and wants to know if the other thing is still possible.

city to city they all look the same; motel after motel.

every time yoongi passes blue roses it rains.

*

sometimes yoongi hears a whistle and wonders who’s calling him. he hurries through the storm slicked streets, and does what makes sense: breaks into the nearest piano.

tries to connect.

*

he has this memory (and he’s even fairly sure it’s real) of kissing jungkook shadow light across his bruises, has this memory of jungkook’s lips on his fingertips like some kind of worship, has this memory of laughing together as the lights went bright brighter brightest and then…

…out.

*

every bed is incomplete, but that is to be expected.

*

under his grip, jungkook is not jungkook though yoongi doesn’t know why. he pulls him back by the neck of his jacket, pleads, rasps loud whispers, and yells even though he tried to promise that he’d never yell at him again.

when he holds jungkook fully from behind, he remembers jungkook’s hands gripping the back of his jacket days weeks months years ago.

remembers.

misses.

“jungkook,” he holds him tighter. “jungkook—

—wake up.”

*

namjoon is here but he’s not the namjoon yoongi swears he knows. this namjoon takes care of jungkook, which fine is part of the namjoon that yoongi knows, but this namjoon also won’t help him escape.

“can’t,” he corrects.

yoongi, seated at the head of a long table across from him, adjusts jungkook in his arms: sleeping.

eyes falling to the empty glass, yoongi can’t tell if he wants to cry or disappear. neither seems especially useful.

“i don’t think he recognizes me,” he admits, though to argue, jungkook shifts in his hold, murmurs incoherently, and sighs.

when yoongi looks up, namjoon has a glass to his lips. yoongi watches the movement of his throat, the press of his mouth, the almost cat-like open close open of namjoon’s eyes. somehow when he speaks his voice fills the room, outfits it in some new feeling of being Elsewhere without going Anywhere, without raising it louder than a thought.

“that’s not true at all.”

outside the window, the flaring lights make yoongi feel dizzy. he cards his fingers through jungkook’s hair, watches namjoon’s profile and thinks a hundred runaway things.

*

in yoongi’s heart: a piano, a fight he never wins, a boy he always loves, a dream handled wrong on all ends.

yoongi asks him to wake up all the time, has flashes of memory that tell him in another moment jungkook asked the same of him.

walking into the room where jungkook stares at nothing in particular that yoongi can see, he kneels as he places his hands on him, thumbs his shoulders and upper arms, digs in a little deeper than the norm, waits. but jungkook doesn’t look at him, still enthralled with what is in front of him, or isn’t, and it’s only as yoongi drags him out, jungkook’s wrist sharp in his hold, that he notices the blue rose tucked behind jungkook’s ear.

*

what it amounts to: one dream fractured.

*

slowly quickly yoongi cannot find the motel. he runs down the same long road and bites through his own tears every time there’s blood on the highway.

*

he remembers: jungkook looking in the mirror sometimes, staring at his upper back like there was something he was missing.

*

“people don’t fly,” yoongi said to namjoon who shrugged, shrugged and said,

“and dreams don’t last forever.”

*

the whistling takes shape the same as the view out an airplane window: suddenly clear but no less tangible. he would have to be on the ground for that; he would have to be a sound for that.

when yoongi can no longer run, he walks, and when he can no longer walk he crawls.

so it goes.

for a time.

*

it’s not that he doesn’t see the car.

* * *

looking out at the water, jungkook jumps a little as yoongi collides into him, throws an arm around him…and smiles.

it seems the love thing to do, to smile back.

it also seems…familiar.

*

he wonders if everyone hears a piano when yoongi touches them, if everyone feels words that aren’t happening but are definitely there all the same, if everyone knows that yoongi’s dream happens but only in pieces.

*

when yoongi is sure jungkook has fallen asleep, he drags himself along the grass until he can press his mouth to jungkook’s crown, kiss him hello.

*

hello again.

*

the truth: the dream.

the someday: laughing at a piano in a sunlit room whose walls are blue but not sad.

*

on the couch of an abandoned warehouse, jungkook listens to the catch of yoongi’s fire and imagines he’s trying to tell him something.

*

in a street where jungkook lies collapsed against a building, yoongi is afraid to touch him and is trying to tell him something.

*

at the piano where they come closest: a song they both know without having learned.

this one quiet idea.

*

love is not over.

*

wake up.

*

please wake up.

*

on a pier yoongi slips his arm over jungkook’s shoulders, jungkook holds his hand up to the light –

– and dreams.

*

the ocean waves they would see, if they looked closer, are made of roses.

blue. unfurling.

*

waiting to come home.

*
