even though the scene is different and all

It`s no accident what happened with her bikini bottoms. He was down in that area for some time. She knew what he was doing and didn`t stop him. They were outside in a public place, were they COULD be photographed. They are both grown mature adults, this is no innocence, that`s arrogance and a big fuck you. And as if it wasn`t enough, he drops his pants down. It`s hard for me to believe that Gillian who likes to be in control (!) suddenly lost all of her inhibitions. So OOC, that`s what bothers me

OOC like hell! And that is why this bothers me so much and I don't buy all of this. I know that most of the people chose to buy the version about Gillian who lost her mind :D I prefer to think that something different is going on, and though, the scene itself was gross without the reason, actors know how to play!

Actually, I just think that it can be even explained! She was about to show him the tattoo and the scar. Because he was looking at her belly, fascinated with the tattoo which he saw for the first time (!) but then he went further! Gillian knew that there are paps and couldn’t screw up this whole plan and make a scene, so she closed the thighs and though she was smiling, maybe she was telling him to stop. I totally see it, that he crossed the line. What can you expect from that kind of a jerk? And I don’t trust him for a bit! If we had a video, we would see what really happened because pics not always interpret the situation as it went.

Yuri on Ice interview translation - PASH! 2017/03 (p10-11)

The second part of the episode commentary by Mitsurou Kubo! I have now fixed it with all the italic & bold parts as in the magazine (in the magazine they are actually bold & bolder). If you have any questions please send me a private message and I’ll reply when I have some time.

You can find the first commentary about episodes 1-6 here.

Just a note: when she quotes lines from the episodes I’m not using any of the “official” English translations, I’m translating them as I would translate them myself, so they might not be like you are used to hear them, but I think you will understand which lines they are anyway.

The translation is under the cut because it’s long.

***If you wish to share this translation please do it by reblogging or posting a link to it***

Co-Leadership Klance Theory

So I’ve seen a few people make mention to the fact that in season three, we could possibly get two leaders in Voltron and I honestly think that could be true, based on a few things that I’ve noticed…

In the beginning of the show we saw this

Keith and Lance both saving Shiro in some way has symbolism. Keith was struggling to hold Shiro up by himself (almost like the future weight of leading the group)

And then Lance came in at the perfect time to help him, taking some of the weight off of his shoulders

Here’s another form of symbolism

They’re all lined up and working together to defeat the enemy, this is definitely showing something. But it’s mainly the colours. Is it really a coincidence that Lance and Keith are red and blue while Shiro is purple? Shiro must represent something between them, maybe what they equal together

But other than Shiro, there have been moments dropped around the show that also prove that Lance and Keith make a good team and work well together

Like for example, their bonding moment

(oh look, more purple…interesting….)

Lance literally said “We did it, we are a good team” here

And on a small side note, during some moments with Keith, Lance has been shown to be a good leader, someone that Keith needs around to help him (like with Shiro in ep 1)

This scene here when Keith was ready to run into fight without even a second thought really proves that

Lance stops him and says to think things through (giving a better plan,) which is essential when leading a group

It’s almost like they balance each other out, Keith is impulsive while Lance is decisive, making their team level-headed which is similar to Shiro’s persona (red equals danger, while blue equals calm, making purple which is a combination of both?)

Then there was this elevator scene, which I believe was more than just fan service

They literally did the impossible by getting out of there together, blatantly showing, even though they don’t always get a long

they definitely do make a good team when it counts

Here too

This is one of the best moments I’ve seen them work together. There have been others too where they put aside their differences and help one another when it’s important

And recently I’ve heard that now that Shiro’s gone, Lance is going to become more serious and show more of a leadership role, just like Keith will have to as well

And this small scene we got from the trailer shows that. They all look very serious and the stance’s may be this way to make room for everyone in the shot, but there’s just something about Lance and Keith

They both look just like Shiro here and I don’t think that’s a coincidence at all.

Jasper Storyboard Comparisons and Rankings

A comparison of Jasper storyboards inspired by evieisyourqueen/critically-bitter. Save two exceptions I chose boarders that provided a lot of Jasper content, at the very least a full scene’s worth. Katie and Lamar I didn’t include as they drew Amethyst disguised as Jasper. I didn’t know how heavily that influenced their drawings of Amethyst/Jasper in the episode so I didn’t include either of them. If they do board more for her or post more art of her I’ll probably update this list with them. Hillary wasn’t included as she hasn’t boarded Jasper at all, and unless I missed it or didn’t pay attention didn’t see enough art from her with Jasper to get a solid grasp on how she’d draw her.

All that said, let’s get this analysis started!

Colin Howard

I really like Colin’s Jasper! It’s fairly consistent and looks very nice. The arms are well defined and her jaw and neck look thick and powerful without seeming awkward. Said jaw is rounded but without looking too soft either. Her expressions are some of her best here, especially those smiles she gives. My favorite aspect is probably the hair though. It’s huge and fluffy, something about how Colin draws it gives it presence and feeling. All around a great Jasper.

10/10

Fun Fact- Colin also drew some of the early sketches for Jasper before her design was finalized!

Jeff Liu

While occasionally inconsistent looking, Jeff’s Jasper is still quite good. She reminds me of a Tiger a lot in this episode, fierce and intimidating. The hair seems to have less volume on the whole, but spikes up when she’s especially angry. The chin is either rounded or angular with her body a touch on the leaner side of Jaspers at times. I’m not always a fan of how he draws her mouth, but it’s a smaller complaint compared to other stuff we’ll be getting into… Another good one all said and done, if a touch inconsistent at times.

8/10

Joe Johnston

Another great Jasper! Her expressions are probably at their sharpest and most frightening here, just look at that grin! Her hair is really big here, though not in the same way as Colin’s. It really adds to her already massive size, which is always a plus. Her body type also seems to be just right here, not too small but not too thick either. The jaw looks more rectangular here compared to Colin’s rounder one. While it’s not my favorite, it’s certainly up there.

9/10

Fun Fact- Jeff and Joe have also boarded Malachite the most so far!

Lauren Zuke

Here’s where it starts to fall flat a bit. The brief parts where Jasper is boarded by Lauren are… not great looking, to say the least. Looking at their sketches is a better indication of how their Jasper could look, but I’m still not a fan. Something about the torso feels off and the fact this is a leaner looking Jasper isn’t helping. The hair isn’t as big but certainly fluffy looking, The face has it worst here though, with the over all shape and the too big eyes making it look rather off compared to other Jaspers. At the very least it’s consistent, but it’s not helping much.

6/10

Paul Villeco

Surprise! Zuke’s Jasper isn’t my least favorite! That honor goes to the inconsistent and quite off model boarding of Paul Villeco, and my god does it show. All these are from different episodes and dear lord it’s bad. From the odd jaws and ridiculous proportions of The Return to the long neck and odd body shapes in Crack the Whip, it’s hardly ever looks good and looks ridiculous at worst. He has improved though and by Earthlings his Jasper manages to get some consistency, but it’s still a touch too lean and even the consistency falls apart once the corruption scene happens (though he also didn’t board that part entirely). It gains some points for saving itself at the end, but outside of that it’s my worst by far.

3/10

Fun Fact- Despite being my least favorite Paul Villeco actually boarded Jasper the most. Huzzah.

Raven Molisee

Now here’s a return to form! While some minor inconsistencies with the hands, hair, and teeth abound, this is still a great Jasper. A well proportioned and thick body, a strong jaw somewhere between Colin’s and Joe’s, nice looking hair on the whole and wonderful expressions, Raven’s Jasper makes me wish she drew her more on the episodes she had with her rather then Paul. All over a good Jasper, if lacking some sharpness on the whole.

8/10

Rebecca Sugar

Without a doubt my favorite Jasper. The hair looks wonderful, the right mix of volume and fluffiness. The body type is excellent, looking strong and well muscled but not leaning too far on the thick or lean side. The best part hands down has to be the expressions. While the eyes aren’t as sharp as I would prefer them Rebbeca never makes them feel too big and the range of emotions she gets on Jasper is amazing. Definitely the first person I draw from when I want to draw Jasper.

20/10

Fun Fact- In addition to never drawing Jasper with her helmet Rebecca also drew additional boards for Jasper in Chille Tid and Earthlings!

Bonus!

Amber Cragg

Amber hasn’t had a chance to board for Jasper much yet but I hope and pray she does soon. While some of the proportions look off and the hair not super consistent, Amber’s expressions are amazing on Jasper, in particular the detail on the teeth. More of Jasper’s huge canines in the art please. Now that she’s been upgraded to a storyboard artist maybe we’ll see some of her Jasper soon! Maybe? Please…?

We all know how astonishingly talented Thomas is and how much time, effort and love he’s put into making the SanderSides, so much that at this point it’s extremely difficult to see his characters as Thomas, even though they are all literally him. They all have their own looks and little quirks, like the way they sound, stand, the things they say, the way they move, and even their own personalities. The way Prince has his hand gestures, how Anxiety ducks his head, how Dad adjusts his glasses and Logic straightens his tie. I really, really appreciate how much thought and effort Thomas puts into them all, but I also love the little things. Like how his editing is always neat and on point, no matter how frustrating and exhausting it must be to flip scenes and add audio with 3-5 different characters. How every time they appear on screen, there is quiet music specifically for them playing in the background that you can hear if you listen carefully. How Thomas has made such great content that even though we may have our favourite characters, we love them all. I just want everyone to appreciate @thatsthat24 for his hard work, for how dedicated and amazing and lovely he is, and for his overall brilliance. We love you!

Doctor Who Panel - Ottawa Comic Con 2017

I haven’t made a post here for a long time but this is the most fandom thing I’ve done in a while and wanted to share. I attended the DW Panel and we had Peter Capaldi, Alex Kingston and Jenna Coleman in Ottawa which was great because we never get anyone and certainly not a current Doctor. They were all wonderful and I really enjoyed the event. Here are some of the highlights (I say highlights but this is basically the whole thing)

Q: Peter Capaldi (PC) what do you look for in a partner?
PC: longevity

Q: Fave monsters?
PC: Likes the Daleks but his long time fave are the Zarbi from the episode “The Web Planet”
Alex Kingston (AK): When she was young, she liked the Cybermen but now its the Silence (she never actually said the name, she acted like she couldn’t remember it and Jenna ended up being the one to say it)
Jenna Coleman (JC): She also likes the Silence. She finds the scariest monsters are the ones which never have to run but move slowly

Q: Fave Dalek scene?
JC: When she was a Dalek (“Asylum of the Daleks”)
CP: When they were shrunk and put into a Dalek (someone from the crowd shouted rusty, “Into the Dalek”)
AK: When she killed a Dalek (”The Big Bang”)

Q: Fave emotional scene without giving away any spoilers?
JC: The diner scene. It was shot over two days as they shot some of it in the diner and the rest in the studio. She didn’t think the parts shot in the studio were meant to be emotional, when she enters her Tardis. But Peter was there when he didn’t have to, in his own clothes, and seeing him there made her emotional
AK: Saying good bye to David, getting the ‘piss off’ (her words) from Matt, and for Peter it was hard for both of them to hold back their emotions but still be able to show it to the audience, of knowing what was in store for each other without the other knowing.

Q: Jenna asked what it felt like dying
JC: She read in the script a raven was meant to fly at her, but she didn’t know what to expect on set and whether they would actually get a raven which would be made to fly at her. So when that didn’t actually happen she was so relieved she kept forgetting to actually die.

Q: Choose a show or movie for Doctor Who to do a crossover
PC: Game of thrones, because the Doctor can definitely take down the white walkers
AK: Lord of the Rings, and the Doctor to face the Orcs
JC: The Thick of it (so Pc vs PC lol)

Q: If they could choose a name for the Doctor what would it be
JC: Bob
PC: Doesn’t believe the Doctor’s name can be understood by humans, so it isn’t a word
AK: When she was shooting the scene where River Song whispers the Doctor’s name, the first take she whispered the name Shaniqua (lol) and caused an NG. She kept changing the name every time they shot the scene but wouldn’t say the other names

Q: Fave line?
PC: I’m the Doctor
AK: Hello sweetie
JC: Chin boy, show me the stars and Run you clever boy
(They got into a discussion led by PC, that Steven Moffat likes to notice peoples different quirks and bring it into the script. So it’s not a trait of the Doctor but the actor e.g. like how he runs funny.

Q: PC why does Doctor who appeal to young people today especially with an episode like “Thin Ice”?
PC: (I loved how he answered this question and I’m not going to do it justice but here goes) There are a lot of things going on in the world right now which are bad, terrible and crazy. And it’s up to writers to put across a message about the times we live in. The Doctor sees things from a different perspective from all of time and space, to see what’s truly good and what’s truly bad. It’s in the Doctor’s character and we all have to keep saying it

Q: Do they have any input into how their character is written?
JC: The script is fluid during filming and Moffat can put a joke she said before hand into the script
AK: Likes how Moffat writes characters to be unique, so they have their own speech pattern. You can see a line without naming a character, but you can still picture exactly who would say it
PC: Even though he doesn’t change the lines they can interpret and deliver the lines differently from how they are written in the script

Q: Fave episode?
JC: Vincent and the Doctor, likes she get to meet such influential people from the past
AK: Also really loved Vincent and the Doctor, and that the Doctor was able to take him into the future and show him how people admired his genius and talent (honestly one of my fave scenes also)
PC:  Frontier in Space (To him only six people cheered after he said this so jokingly wondered if we are all really Doctor Who fans in the audience)

Just some things I took note of

  • JC knew for a year she was leaving the show. They had already decided that Clara could not return to Earth, so she was happy with the ending
  • AK told us David Tennant loves playing cards. And him and Catherine Tate played a game between takes which she joined, to name a band from the last letter of the previous band named. They all got so into it they were more into the game than the actual scenes
  • Alex was asked if she would do a show with John Barrowman as River Song and Captain Jack Harkness. She walked over to Peter and covered his ears by placing his head against her stomach and covering the other with her hand, and whispered yes into the microphone.
  • They are all for the next Doctor being a girl, PC added a woman as well. If they could choose an actress to be the Doctor AK choose Frances de la Tour, PC choose Melissa McCarthy, and JC declined to answer sort of hinting she could be in the running (the host added because the Doctor can choose a face he has known i.e. like PC)
  • AK says she can’t have a fave Doctor because it’s the same person but he is like a snake which sheds its skin (loved the metaphor), but River Song enjoys that the different Doctors come in different shapes and sizes ;)
  • PC told us his punk rock band was called Dream Boys (was very embarrassed by this admission) and his stage outfit was a white shirt and a bow tie. So he has always loved bow ties
  • The fave character AK has played is Lady Macbeth. She never grew up believing she would be on tv as Britain doesn’t have Hollywood like America. So hoped to make it in theater
  • PC was asked what it was like being a side character on DW before becoming the Doctor. He gave a funny excerpt of how he sneaked into the Tardis and played with the console because he thought it would be his one and only chance in the cheapest toga ever made (thankfully it wasn’t)
“You know what I find pretty fascinating? When travelling, you get to see different stars. The sky changes at different places. But you always see the same moon. Sometimes I think of people being on the other side of the world, looking at the same moon as me. It feels like some kind of connection, you know?”

-Shatters

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANNY! @dreamingofastory, I finally finished it, even though it’s probably not your birthday in your timezone anymore (though, it still is in mine)

This is inspired by a scene in Danny’s fic: Shatters, which is beautiful and deserves more love :’)))

Victor Nikiforov Appreciation Post!!!

I just want to take a moment and talk about how much I love Victor Nikiforov and how he’s just such a refreshing character. I know everyone and their dog has done a post like this already but I’ve been crying over this lovable goof for months and this had been sitting in my drafts for too long now anyway and also I’m avoiding my textbooks AND THIS SORTA TURNED INTO A CHARACTER ANALYSIS I’M SORRY.

So as far back as the PV, there were assumptions flying around that Victor would end up being an antagonist of some sort. That either he was using Yuuri for his own gain, or was just straight up evil. Laughable now, of course, but the reason those rumors were prevalent was because we see it so often. How easy was it to think that Victor was “helping” Yuuri only to further his own goals in the end? We’ve seen this common mentor-betrays-student trope before and it’s no wonder that early on fans were afraid of this even as the show progressed. And honestly? This would have made for some great drama—for Victor to turn out to not be such a nice guy and for him to eventually become someone Yuuri had to defeat in competition. However the show did not go down that route at all. It turns out that yeah, Victor is actually just a really nice guy who cares a great deal about Yuuri and the people around him. He doesn’t show up in Hasetsu with any evil ulterior motives—he just wants to get to know Yuuri and help him take his skating to the next level, and maybe find inspiration (and love) along the way.

Also how could a man with a heart-shaped smile be evil???

(Continued under the cut.)

  • what she says: i'm fine
  • what she means: it's 1:59am and i'm literally lying in bed thinking about the umbrella scene and how important it is to the entire existence of the characters and relationships in this show. it is so symbolic of the connection between adrien and marinette and even though we've seen all different variations of their interactions throughout the entire season before that moment, nothing comes close to how significant and poignant this final scene is for these two characters. the shift in colors and atmosphere from the rest of the show in this one scene just emphasizes how important it is and the final line of the scene and episode and technically even season is literally "those two are meant for each other," tying everything up so perfectly that i have no words to describe how i feel about that final line. i also just stopped in the middle of this rant to watch the scene for the 30th time and i'm overwhelmed by how beautiful it is, from adrien's laugh to marinette's sigh to the amazing soundtrack in the background. but most importantly i am so happy that above all else, this scene establishes the friendship between adrien and marinette and how important it is to adrien especially. every time i watch this scene i feel so content and so satisfied and so blessed. we are so blessed to be living in the same lifetime as this scene. we are so blessed

anonymous asked:

Hi River! Can you link us to some meta, analysis, commentary, or basic evidence of Sherlock being trans, particularly in BBC Sherlock? I just haven't really read anything in depth about this so I'm interested to know more. Thanks!

hey! i’m just going to compile my own list of things i’ve caught but you can certainly go to @marcelock‘s trans sherlock tag for more!!!

so firstly, most of the canonical evidence is in s3 and tab but i thought i’d start with something that caught my attention in the great game

here, sherlock is excitedly giving his deduction about the golem

and john, pressed about the earlier confrontation he had with sherlock about moriarty, and impatient, replies with this

which leads sherlock and lestrade to have these reactions:

now QUITE obviously sherlock and lestrade know something here that john does not. lestrade looks down and away immediately after john’s comment and sherlock looks at lestrade with a look which vehemently reads “don’t say anything, he doesn’t know”

to me, this is an extremely obvious misgendering of sherlock that john does ignorantly and unintentionally because he honestly doesn’t know, and i can adhere to this personally because it has happened to me on multiple occasions

now, throughout the next 10 minutes of the episode sherlock distances himself from john by telling him that they should split up to get more done, which isn’t an unusual occurrence but it is DEFINITELY unusual when john is doing something that only police should be doing (interviewing the dead man’s roommate)

i see this as sherlock needing to distance himself from john for just a little while because of the earlier instance. he’s obviously not mad, just a bit upset and jarred but as you can see by the end of the episode everything between them is completely fine again

in s2 there isn’t much in the way of physical evidence like above, it’s more subtextual, in asib it is brought up at least twice that i can remember that sherlock is a virgin

“sex doesn’t alarm me” “how would you know?”

“he calls you the ice man and the virgin”

this can be attested to that sherlock is just a genuinely awkward person and uncomfortable with contact as such but it can easily be read that because he is trans that he experienced and experiences body dysphoria which would lead to him not being comfortable with his own body, let alone allowing someone else to be with it so intimately

“but what about top surgery scars?????” you may ask

not all trans people get double mastectomies!!! some of us don’t ever get surgery! but sherlock could have easily had the key hole operation which would not leave the double incisions on the chest that you see on many trans men

sherlock having little to no body hair is also incredibly telling, as many trans men, even on testosterone, are unable to grow it and if they do it’s usually patchy

in both thob and the google maps of 221b, there is an injection gun sitting on the table

injection guns are used to inject medication accurately and frequently, and, sherlock constantly on the move for cases, would need to administer his testosterone quickly and efficiently

now, in The Trans Sherlock Show (s3) there is so much evidence that he’s trans it makes my head spin

the VERY first scene we see sherlock in, he has absolutely no facial hair, yet, the hair on his head is literally down to his shoulders

where did he find the time to shave yet not cut his hair??? he didn’t

sherlock was unable to have access to testosterone in the field for 2 years is what happened, so it stunted his facial hair growth

there is literally no other explanation for this like

moving on to tsot

sherlock loves dancing and always has which isn’t that unusual for men anymore, but his love for dancing does not explain the fact that he can do a pirouette perfectly? he would have had to go through extensive training to complete such a move, and many parents put their “little girls” in dancing lessons

during the stag night and sherlock and john’s drinking game, sherlock drunkenly asks questions that john answers to validate him, not the person on his head

“am i human?”

“am i a man?”

“tall?”

“nice?”

“clever?”

“am i important?”

“do people like me?”

sherlock is obviously seeking validation from john, and he just wants to know what he is to people and how people see him

later in this scene sherlock also says “beauty is a construct based entirely on childhood influences and role models” which is a really… trans thing to say. he’s talking about beauty and looks but those are as performative as gender, gender is literally performing a look, how you want to be perceived and how you want others to perceive you

hlv now!!!

as a little aside and a line that i always laugh at anderson asks sherlock if he has “one hole or two” and sherlock abashedly says “sorry?!” and obviously they’re talking about the gunshot wound but it’s just a funny trans joke to me

anyway! “how can sherlock be trans if he is clearly a little boy in his mind palace!!!” sherlock can imagine himself however he wants in his mind palace folks and children are mostly androgynous in formative years so this could have been how he looked or he’s picturing himself as such

now the 2 hospital scenes, one with janine and the deleted scene with magnussen

first the janine scene:

“you lied to me, you lied and lied”

“just once would have been nice”

sherlock, awkwardly, “i was waiting until we got married”

“you shouldn’t have lied to me, i know what kind of man you are. we could have been friends”

now this can be read as both a reveal of sherlock being gay AND trans

“but it can only be about him being gay!!!” you might say

then explain the magnussen scene:

magnussen, a man who blackmails people for money, is blackmailing sherlock about his “musician’s hands”

but this comment quickly turns into calling them “woman’s hands,” and sherlock looks at magnussen in fear - he knows his secret

this deleted scene completely explains sherlock’s vehemence toward mycroft near the end of hlv when mycroft asks sherlock why he hates magnussen so much

and finally the tarmac scene, when sherlock says “sherlock is actually a girl’s name”

this can be interpreted a couple of different ways in terms of him being trans

sherlock could be saying here that sherlock was his birthname and he wanted to keep it, but needed a masculine name on legal documents, hence william sherlock scott holmes, because sherlock is quite an androgynous unusual name

or, he could be saying that he was born a “girl,” and that his being carries along that sentiment even though he had chosen sherlock during his transition. either way, he’s literally saying he’s trans

onto tab,

sherlock has no facial hair at all, yes he could be cleanly shaven, but as this is the 1890s hrt doesn’t exist yet so he wouldn’t be able to actually grow it

sherlock, perhaps having noticed, or not caring to notice because hooper is in the same predicament as him, has not said anything about the fact that hooper is, for lack of a better term, “a woman dressed in man’s clothing”

hooper could be a trans man just like sherlock, hence him not saying a single thing because he himself is trans as well and would not dare to out hooper

I LITERALLY HAVE NO COMMENT????? THIS IS THE MOST TRANS LINE I HAVE EVER COME ACROSS IN CINEMA

in the end scene, when sherlock tells john that he “would be very much at home in such a world” and that he’s always been a man out of his time, it’s fairly obvious that sherlock knows he could better himself in current day, that he could be the man he wanted with access to what he wanted in the 21st century (testosterone, surgery, etc)

and finally after all of that! the big doozy of yesterday in which we all learned that sherlock literally leaves his t needles all over 221b! a major thank you to @sidryan for that!

anyway that’s all! sherlock is trans thanks for coming to my ted talk

anonymous asked:

do you think the hotel scene in episode 8 is just a bunch of time lapses as well?

yes!!!! @stardefiant & i were talking about that one as well. you can notice it right off the bat with even’s voiceover towards the end of the first scene:

it’s a line that we find out is not actually said until:

which means that isak was most likely recalling the words during the first scene we’re actually shown – which puts the third scene we saw in the hotel room before the first scene, if you’re going by the hints skam is throwing at us.

but i think that’s the best part about this entire scene; the ambiguity of it all – we don’t know the actual order of how things happened (except for the first part and the last part, ofc, when even leaves the room with nothing but his shoes on); all we know for sure is that everything did happen, just maybe not in the order we were shown it did.

you can narrow the reasons for this down as much as you want, really; you can even choose to believe they happened in the order that they did, if you’d like! i personally like to believe it’s all part of the limited pov technique, though – we’re being presented the scenes in the order isak is recalling them, perhaps based on the impact they had on him, considering the clip as a whole is quite literally an entire time lapse (15:15 - 1:01)

i personally believe the sex scene happened last – maybe right after the “infinite time” scene happened – considering that, when the clip switches to nighttime, isak is on the right side of the bed, where he’d been laying during the sex scene, and the opposite of where he’d been laying during the “infinite times” scene:

and that maybe the mini burgers scene actually happened first.

and then of course we have the obvious time jumps once nighttime officially hits – the blackouts, the ones that kept us all on our toes and had all of our hearts racing because what the fuck, what is happening.

(especially non-norwegian speakers, oh my god)

and then the time jumps at the very end, where isak is desperately searching for even, the shaky cuts from one angle to another – thinking about it is literally fucking with me again.

this is definitely the most obvious example of skam’s use of both time lapse and time jumps, i think. this is where you see the true impact of them. don’t you think it’s crazy, that something like that can change your entire attitude towards a scene?

you knew something was off. the entire time, you knew something was off, and you felt it in your guts, even if you couldn’t put your finger on it first – and that had a lot to do with the limited pov we were offered and the time lapses/jumps in the entirety of the clip.

it’s something skam does so often and should really be appreciated more because even though it’s not the greatest in film & editing, our tiny show is actually brilliant when it comes to small techniques like these and applying them to the tone they want to portray during a scene and making you feel things and see it in a enTIRELY DIFFERENT LIGHT i love it. i love it

Never Have I Ever...

AJ Styles x reader smut.

Summary: AJ finds out that the reader has never had an orgasm, due to a drunken game of never have I ever. And then he has his mind set on changing that as quickly as possible.

Warnings: smut, profanity?

Authors note: This may be absolute garbage but I really wanted to write this because it’s AJ motherfucking Styles. And I know for sure @llowkeys would very much like anything AJ related so yeah, sorry if it’s terrible honey…

I also wanted to make this so that the reader was quite a bit younger than AJ, I don’t know why but I imagine getting it on with someone older is so much hotter than banging someone your own age or a couple of years older than you.

Sorry if this is quite a long fic, I ramble when I’m nervous. I am officially exhausted and I needed this fic to be finished, so don’t be shocked if theres some mistakes or if it’s written badly. Plus the fic is long overdue.

I think it’s extremely unfair when people blame two actresses of queerbaiting when they show us some support.

There’s a big difference between saying “Oh, you never know what could happen… Keep watching!” and saying “I know where the shippers are coming from. Once you put a scene out there it will be perceived differently by different people and that’s OK. It’s how this works and all the views are valid even though the writers may not have written this way specifically.”

The first one gives hope, false hope. It makes us believe it will happen eventually even though it might not to. It’s just cruel. You keep watching until the very end… to end up in utter disappointment (also, there’s the teasing aspect of it. They keep selling and promoting it, misleading the fans. A cruel move too. And yes, I’m looking to a certain someone from the Riverdale cast. THAT. THAT’S queerbaiting at its finest, my friends. I’ll mention the cast and production of PP too, they mean well, at least I think they do, but teasing us relentless with Bechloe to promote the movie just to let us down later is kinda wrong).

The second one validates our views as one of the many possibilities and states that they’re all fine, sure it gives you a sparkle of hope too, but it’s honest. It’s not deceiving, you know it’s possible it won’t happen.

At the end of the day, it’s not the actresses fault, you see? It’s not even up to them, they don’t write the shows. They could very well ignore us, pretend we and our ship don’t exist *cough* I say J you say Mo *cough* or… they could see us, interact with us and make us feel supported and loved. Make us feel like we belong and what we see is valid and beautiful.

With that in mind, I believe what Katie Mcgrath is doing with Supercorp is great! She’s doing the right thing and I think other actors should follow her example. She’s being honest with her fans, loving, caring and supportive . Sign fanarts, fanfics and other stuff of the ship doesn’t mean she’s saying “Look, it will happen, just wait and see!!!”, no, she’s saying “I see you guys. I think it’s amazing all the love you have for these two characters”. She chose to embrace her Supercorp fans and for them, for me, this means SO much.

So moving on to Lana now. When the whole cast, the writers, production ignored our existence or treated us badly in general, Lana was the only one who acknowledged us and Swan Queen. She was the only one making a real effort to make us feel like we belonged and a little more safe in a fandom full of hatred. I’m relatively new to the fandom and I know she wasn’t always like this, Lana made a lot of mistakes along the way, but she tried to be better and I believe she’s a good ally now. At least she didn’t avoid us like the plague like her co-star did… *cough* Again, I say J you say Mo *cough*

So to sum this all up… Show support and some love to your queer fan base is NOT queerbaiting. It’s not them fooling their fans into believing the ships will become canon eventually. It’s them saying that we matter!!! When you’re surrounded by toxicity and bigotry all around in your life and in fandom, this support, this validation from your favorite actresses? It’s the only thing you have to keep going. It means a lot and they’re such simple gestures really, so don’t blame people like Lana or Katie… Blame the writers that put innuendos and romantic undertones IN ALL THEIR SCENES, make parallels with other canon couples, coordinate their wardrobe, make them FILL PERFECTLY ALL THE DEFINITIONS OF TRUE LOVE THEY SET UP (sorry, I’m still bitter about it. Fuck you Adam and Eddy!). Blame the actors that act like we’re not here or just plainly use us to promote themselves and their shit show. Don’t blame the only ones trying! Especially when one of them it’s a WOC and already has to deal with this racist, misogynistic, homophobic industry. It’s just not fair to do so.

Skam fandom: The very best of

I’ve seen some ridiculous theories about the actors’ personal lives and what not in the Skam tag, so how about we have a little reality check and take a moment to remember some of the crazy theories and predictions the fandom came up with during the run of season 3.

1. Theory: Isak dies. This theory started to circulate as soon as Isak saw the video of Even talking about great love stories and death. People were looking for clues in the Bible and in the official header. This is the first time I’ve seen a fandom study the Bible to predict how a gay love story ends.
Outcome: Isak doesn’t die. Isak is born. Isak is born as his true self. The ominous letter I with the skull above it in the header? Turns out it’s not a skull, and turns out Even is a ridiculous romantic who enjoys tracing his lover’s name with his finger on café windows.

2. Theory: Even dies. Aka the Theory That Just Wouldn’t Die. This shit was everywhere after the first Romeo + Juliet reference, and some people wouldn’t let go of it until the very last clip.
Outcome: Even doesn’t die. Even changes the story. Moreover, they are both Romeo and Juliet on different occasions, which I feel is Julie Andem’s way of showing that their relationship doesn’t conform to heteronormative expectations where one is always the girl and one is always the boy. They switch. What a concept.

3. Theory: Even is a homophobe who intends to lure Isak into a trap and then assault him or out him.
Outcome: Even is a 19-year-old bipolar probably bi or pansexual cheesy romantic with artistic tendencies who intends to lure Isak into a hotel suite to pamper and love the fuck out of him.

4. Theory: It’s been over two weeks and they haven’t even kissed yet. NRK doesn’t dare to show two boys kissing. The show is queerbaiting harder than a Shameless producer.
Outcome: Soft boys kissing, nuzzling, mumbling, whispering, and stroking each other’s hair take over tumblr. There is softness everywhere. We’ve never seen anything quite like this. We cry in Norwegian. We cry in all the languages.

5. Theory: The voice behind the door in the Hjernen er alene clip doesn’t belong to Eskild but to Jonas. Isak accidentally outs himself and Even to Jonas this way.
Outcome: Jonas has broken into the flat, gone through a dramatic voice change after going down on too many girls, and memorised every shoe in the flat due to his shoe fetish. Nei.

6. Theory: Isak steals Linn’s sleeping pills and overdosesto deal with his insomnia and heartbreak.
Outcome: Isak deals with his issues by coming out to his best friend. Jonas reacts like a pro by having no reaction. Express Yourself by Isak’s favourite artist N.W.A. plays during the ending credits. The red heart on the Skam website changes to pride colours, people rejoice, I cry from happiness. Winter is coming, yet the air  – oh the air, it feels like spring.

7. Theory: Isak has sex with Emma or Eskild. The hiatus week was wild. People were climbing up the walls. Moles and boobs and nipples and freckles were screencapped and zoomed and discussed like we were a bunch of scientists on the verge of a breakthrough. I’m not one to judge, though. The Bros clip wrecked me, but at 5 am I was finally able to go to sleep after comparing Even’s chest from the pool scene to the anonymous boob of the preview and noticing that they kind of match.
Outcome: Isak has sex with Even. The sex scenes are super romantic and very tastefully done and don’t adhere to any stereotypes. Isak sure as hell doesn’t have sex with Emma or Eskild because Emma is a girl and Eskild is the mom. If Skam were a different show, maybe there would have been a sex scene between Emma and Isak that would then be used in all the promos so that the straights could ~relate~ and not be scared off by too much gay, but with Julie Andem in charge this was never really a worry.

8. Theory: At least one of Isak’s friends doesn’t react well to Isak’s coming out.
Outcome: The boys debate the difference between bi and pansexuality while Isak just stares at them in confusion because he has just come out and the boys have given exactly zero fucks about his news.

9. Theory: Sonja is evil and is holding Even hostage.
Outcome: Sonja is so evil that she calls to apologise for her mistakes instead of just sending a text, gives her ex-boyfriend’s current boyfriend advice on taking care of him when he’s depressed and even wishes merry Christmas to them both as a couple. What a nasty woman.

10. Theory: Isak doesn’t love Even enough because he never says I love you. He’s already thinking about breaking up.
Outcome: This theory is a personal pet peeve of mine. Were we not watching the same show? Even says I love you because he thinks he’s saying goodbye and because this show loves parallels, the previous episode ended with did you really think he’s in love with you so of course there is going to be a parallel that proves the opposite. And let’s face it. Isak “I’m not gay well maybe I’m a little gay” Valtersen was never going to say his first I love you under the mistletoe with angel choirs singing and stars exploding in the background. He’ll blurt it out by accident without any planning. It’ll be one of those I meant it but I didn’t mean to say it kind of situations. Also, maybe I’m alone in this, but when I say yes to meeting my significant other’s parents for the first time, my thought process is not I’m gonna break up with you next week but certainly not before I’ve hung out with your mom.

11. Theory: Even can’t reply to texts because he is a lizard.
Outcome: Investigation still pending.

What can we learn from this:

1.       Let’s have a little more chill during season 4. Myself included.

2.       We couldn’t even predict a fucking tv show, how could we make assumptions about actual living people and their actual lives.

anonymous asked:

I don't know if you've already answered this or not, but during that scene in the last episode with Mikasa, what do you think was going through Eren's mind?

DISCLAIMER: This is my personal opinion. In no way am I stating what I say here is canon or completely accurate. if you disagree with my opinion, that’s perfectly fine! Everyone has a different point of view, but if you are going to send me messages trying to argue points of view with me or send me hate messages, do me a favor and please just don’t even bother.

A lot of things, anon.

  • That he wasn’t able to make a difference again.
  • That he was useless.
  • That they were all going to die because he couldn’t shift into a titan.
  • That he was unable to avenge his mother or save Hannes.
  • That his getting captured was the entire reason for all of the death happening around them.
  • That his friends betrayed humanity and he was unable to kill them.
  • That there are people who hold him very dear even though he doesn;t understand why.
  • That he needed to protect his friends for once instead of the other way around.
  • That one way or another, he needed to fight to make a difference, even if all he could do was throw a punch out of anger and frustration.
Let’s all appreciate how INTELLIGENTLY  ‘What’s the use of feeling blue’ is crafted as a sequence

- derived from the Diamond lifemotif & therefore recontextualizes it; Especially clever as it was worked into the creepy ending theme leading up to this.

It adds a bit of a dark funerary quality to the previous moments it showed up in.

- It is worth noting that the diamond theme was deliberately designed to be alian and non-musical, so they esentially set a challenge for themselves

- And the song actually stays very faithful to the creepy jingly ambient sounds, though they somehow craft them into a melody and lets YD’s va do the rest as she conveniently has a very strong dramatic voice.

- subverts the expectation of a villain song while still fulfilling all of it’s functions both musically and narratively - low notes, contralto, minions singing backup, swingy sort of melody, expositioning the antagonists and setting both the physical and ideological/thematic confrontation… (They represent, or are the leaders of a society where everyone - even the local God-empresses! - has to shut out your feelings to ‘function’, which is the logical opposite/antithesis/anathema to Steven) but at the same time it’s not a bragadocious declaration but a look beneath the queenly masks/ into their private lives, though they’re not quite ‘out shopping’ as this does inform why/how they act in their day jobs as evil overlords. As usual SU distinguishes itself by clever use & tweaking of the tools

- electro meets jazz, which is in itself creative, though if you wanted you could probably read further things into that. The Diamonds are basically electro outside, Jazz inside. It’s also a further pun (eve heard of ‘blue notes’?)

- Conveys both character, style/aesthetic and other information with astounding density basically.

 - As cool as the music is lets not forget the roles the visuals play -  Their surroundings are quite ‘emphatic’ in the ways all that pink light drowns out their color palettes like a domineering shadow, how Yellow Diamond keeps moving around the bubbles for emphasis, and last bt not least the use of body language to establish both their individual characters and their relationship. BD is relatively static & phlegmatic and waterlike in her motions, sort of recoiling away from both YD and her responsibilities at the beginning, and hugging that pillar for comfort. YD, by contrast, does plenty

Both have a distinct aristocratic tinge in words and gestures though BD goes more in the ethereal/mystically direction while Yellow is a lot more abrupt and stiff there (including when she’s briefly overwhelmed and ends up as the comfortee)

This scene would flat out not work if not for the very unambiguous comforting/ sister-like body language at work there, how the bond is conferred through both word choice (’we still love her’) and physical touch/ gestures.

Particular mention to that one shot where we see them holding hands with both their gemstones shown in the background (and their similar placement highlighted), more or less at the exact point when we realize that they’re both equally affected despite their somewhat different reactions.

- Speaking of the environment though: Éven if they’re having this very private, very un-pharaonic moment, they don’t allow us to foget that they’re villains - most of those Rose Quartzes were probably innocent, the “silly quirk” they’re discussing involves keeping sentient/intelligent beings as pets, and we keep seeing how much Ruby and Saphire are still terrified of BD; Also, Greg’s and Steven’s escape attempts lampshades their titanic sizes. Not to mention that they go right back to cold bitch mode/’command voice’ when the door opens and their underlings show up. They also showing off their fancy singing slaves.

The ‘props’ are as creepy as if they were sitting in a cavern lined with human skulls and bones, but in a clever sci-fi way that makes it even more insidious.

- Though it is also worth noting that it’s greg and steven - almost complete outsiders! - who get to see this scene, rather than their former subjects such as Peridot, Garnet or Pearl. If they did see they’d hardly be compassionate with their former overlords, (not could they in any way be expected to be) but thing are different for Steven who’s probably able to have a wider perspective on this and recognize that they’re still people, even if they are evil overlords.

Writing Romantic Subplots

Anonymous asked: “I have a problem with the romance subplot. How can I make the characters act like they are in love, not just saying that they are in love?”

Romantic subplots can be the most difficult thing to pull off, or the only easy thing that seems to come together naturally. I know readers can be highly critical of some romantic subplots (rightfully so, sometimes). Most often, when I see there’s an issue, it’s because the reader hasn’t gotten to see any kind of development in this relationship. There isn’t necessarily an expressed fondness, or in some cases a reason to be so fond of someone that they can say they’re in love. Or the last thing is that not enough time has passed to believe that these characters could have made that jump that fast.
