Okay, okay I can’t hold it in anymore. I’ve kept this little au idea in secret for quite some time now, with only some friends knowing of it in Skype chats. I’ve even wrote some small ficlets over it and shared them with some, and I’ve been so anxious to share it with anyone else haha. But now I’ve got some courage to do it.

And I’m only gonna…put the main idea out and some little stuff out for now since it’s really late where I am right now haha. But yeah, it’s an AU based solely on Mabel.

But onto the main idea of the au (that I still can’t think of a name for lol): but basically it involves Mabel and her parents and Dipper getting into an accident, with Mabel (at the age of 5) being the only survivor. And as a result, Stan ends up taking her in and being her guardian. And does EVERYTHING he can to provide for her and keep her safe and happy in GF. It’s a big Mabel and Stan bonding au, basically (though Ford does show up later too.)

listen….. regarding the matter of the illyrians being POC, in my mind, they absolutely are. But here’s the thing: readers in this culture assume white is the default. Unless the author is ***extremely specific*** in indicating otherwise, most readers are going to assume a character is white. And that sucks, and I think we should all be working to dismantle that assumption, but that’s how this works. It is the responsibility of any author who gives a half of a shit about representation to know this and to work with it.

“Tanned” is not ***extremely specific*** enough. Even though I, and many other people, choose to read them as such, “tanned” does not good POC rep make. It just doesn’t. There are an endless number of other, less ambiguous ways that Maas could have indicated we were meant to read them as nonwhite, and she chose not to use them. If “Tanned” was truly sufficient as an indicator, we wouldn’t have all these fancasts with Az and Cas as white dudes. Like, listen, yes, we need to have those conversations in fandom and educate each other, but ultimately, blaming the people who read them as white won’t get us anywhere. Blame the work, which, whether it meant to be or not, was ambiguous enough to allow it.

Listen, I love these books, but Maas has a fucking abysmal diversity track record. I am going to HC Amren as a WOC and the Illyrians as Middle Eastern and I am going to hold the authors I read to a high standard re: diversity and acknowledge that Maas using the word “tanned” doesn’t meet it.

(i’m white as hell, so let me know if i’ve stepped out of line here, but rep in literature is something i feel strongly about and Ambiguously Tan just doesn’t cut it in the year of our lord 2k17)

Like who he tryna kid though?

Demon AU! Hunger Games

A Bloodbath of a Prologue

The last thing Leo could remember was being in church. Father Victor had instructed him to fetch the censer as they would need it for today’s mass. As he walked, he felt himself slowly become dizzy, much like he would whenever magical anons decided to twist his life around. Then he blacked out.

Once he came to, the Hispanic realized he was no longer in church. In fact, he had no clue where he was. “Leo!” An all too familiar voice shouted. A flurry of pink tackled him. Leo ended up hitting his head on the hard floor under them. He groaned in pain before looking up at the incubus, noticing the slightly panicked look on his face. He sat up and glanced around only to see the rest of the demons and humans. Michele crossed his arms, “So you’re here too.”

“Where is ‘here’?” Mila, the human one, asked. “A building,” Father Jean-Jaques stated bluntly. The atheist, Seung-Gil, snorted, “No shit Sherlock.”

they leave eva by madam puddifoot’s window, still watching the gingerbread reindeer frolic through frosted coconut snow in sickly sweet pairs with a look of bemused horror on her face.

“what did you two talk about?” even asks.

“you,” isak says, unashamed.

So i was trying to relax
But suddenly i downloaded Blender

and started learn 3d.
(i wanted to do this long time ago but decided of course at this moment)

So this is my first trying in 3d! Wanted to create my oc from “Flower Frame”

Robbie Rotten was snatched as a child by the Fae and was replaced with a changeling named Glanni.

He finds his way back home to Lazytown after cleverly bargaining for his freedom only to find out centuries have passed while he was in the other realm.

Even so, everyone saw him as the horrible Glanni who was mean and nasty and just wanted to mess everyone’s day up. He comes face to face with his double and Glanni is just so relieved that he can finally leave this boring town. He congratulates Robbie on figuring a way out, because really that is rather hard to do.

Robbie has to pick up his life and face what everyone thinks they know about him. Without being able to change what they think, he started to play along with it even though his heart was never really in it. He doesn’t know how he’s supposed to act anymore, or who he really is since the Fae had him for such a long time. He was never really able to develop his personality and sense of self normally.  So, he’s almost slightly relieved that he has a role to play.

This all started because Nine had been the hero of the town when Robbie was very young. All because he had figured out that Nine was an elf and since Nine was so trustworthy, he thought maybe those Fae were too since they were really similar to Nine. He forgot everything he knew about the Fae and went with them.

This is why he tries to drive Sportacus out of town, because he doesn’t want anyone else to make the mistake of learning to trust magical beings and why Sportacus needs to work twice as hard to gain Robbie’s trust.

(Dealer’s Choice if Glanni comes back into town to cause trouble just to bug Robbie or maybe to hide out from Íþróttaálfurinn for awhile. And if everyone sees him, Robbie has to come up with a quick “he’s my brother/cousin/relative and definitely not a changeling who won’t leave me alone!” or something.)
