Last year, UK producer Daktyl offered up a dope remix of mysterious, incognito producer Slow Magic’s Girls, a song I love very dearly. Fast forward to today, and Slow Magic returns the favor by re-working Daktyl’s Forgettable, featuring Evan Mellows. Slow Magic gives the track a radiant and luxurious melodic and future bass re-working sure to thrill your ears and blow your mind.

h/c that Del loves quiet music, especially acoustic guitar. when he flies out to visit Evan, it surprises him, of course, because he's so energetic and crazy all the time, but no, soft music grounds him and helps him concentrate. then, towards the end of his visit, he - very shyly - sidles up to Evan and asks if he would teach him a few chords. he's got his grandfather's old guitar at his house but has never taken the time to learn it, but maybe if Evan could pretty please teach him?

I think you’ve murdered me. Straight up. So, when he’s visiting Evan, immediately he sees the guitar and he asks him to play it. Evan starts a pretty up beat tempo, and Del loves it, but he asks if he knows any classical, or mellow music. Evan obliges him of course (being in love and all that) and kinda just watches as Delirious closes his eyes and sways slightly to the music. Evan is just making it up as he goes along, but he doesn’t want to stop because it’s making Delirious so happy.

“Hey, Evan?” Delirious walks into Evan’s office, where he’s rendering a video to upload. “I, uh, have a question for you.”

Evan spins his chair around to face his friend. “What’s up?”

“Can you…can you teach me how to play the guitar?” Delirious rubs the back of his neck. “My grandpa left me his acoustic guitar when he died, and I’ve always wanted to learn.”

Evan grins. “Of course, man. Come on.”

They start off easy, Evan teaching him a few chords. Delirious picks it up easy enough, and Evan is impressed by how quickly he improves. Only about an hour in, Delirious is strumming the guitar expertly and Evan is mesmerized by the way his fingers move flawlessly across the strings.

“Are you sure you’ve never played before?” He asks. “You’re really good.”

“Probably just natural talent.” Delirious laughs. He looks contemplatively for a minute, before the chords changed. Evan recognizes the song after a few seconds and his heart skips a beat.

“You already know how to play!” Evan accuses.

Delirious just grins, opening his mouth to sing the chorus of the song. “I knew I loved you before I met you, I think I dreamed you into life.

“You played me.” Evan says when Delirious is finished.

He puts the guitar in its stand and looks at Evan. “I may have.” He says guiltily.

“That song…”

“Uh yeah. It’s one of my favorites. And I wanted to play it for you.” Delirious laughs nervously. “Did you like it?”

Evan leans forward, taking Delirious’ hands before closing the distance and touches their lips together. “I loved it.” He whispers.

The guitar remains untouched for the rest of the night.

Well shit.

chris evans is so fuckin mellow and soulful all the time 24/7……. he looks like he should be chopping wood outside his forest cabin next to a lake in the winter before going inside and making a casserole while foster the people plays but instead he’s out here lookin like a greek god and starring in hollywood blockbusters and stating his favourite sound as ‘music’ like what kind of model human,

Drake | Take Care (Simone Battle & Evan Mellows cover)

Fucking loving this.

Dialing it back down with seductive crooning and hypnotic, haunting production on Los Angeles singer songwriter Evan Mellows new electro-R&B track Seven.  Growing up, Evan Mellows listened to R&B legends Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, and Luther Vandross. That’s obvious in his pristine falsetto style, but the production of his music is so dark, heavy, and ethereal, like the work of SOHN, Ben Khan, and so many other amazing electronic talents I’ve been featuring and addicted to lately.  Evan Mellows released one more track earlier this year, and Jupiter is also a downtempo song with endless alluring and shadowy atmosphere.
