For anyone wondering, Kenichi Yoshida might have confirmed (other translations pending) he did the Eureka SeveN Hi-Evolution illustrations

After @planetaryoratorio & @limitofquestions looked into translations of the tweet from Japanese it seems Yoshida was most likely referring to drawing a NEW illustration for Eureka SeveN Hi Evolution currently. Whether he is the artist of the poster art is still unknown officially.

Studio BONES announced that it will produce a new film trilogy for the Eureka Seven anime franchise titled Kōkyōshihen Eureka Seven Hi-Evolution (Psalms of Planets Eureka Seven Hi-Evolution). The first film will open in Japan this year, and the next two films will open in 2018 and 2019, respectively.

The films will follow The First Summer of Love phenomenon that occurred a decade before the first Eureka Seven series. The films will then have the same basic story as the first Eureka Seven series, but will have an original ending.

We’ll be featuring the Eureka Seven movie as this month’s FUNimation at the Movies screening!

Fall in love alongside Renton and Eureka all over again with this feature film set in an alternate timeline within the Eureka Seven universe!

In the year 2054, humanity is on the brink of destruction thanks to a half-century war with the strange beings known as the EIZO. In the middle of an important mission, mecha pilot Renton is reunited with his childhood friend Eureka who was kidnapped by government forces years before. But their heartfelt reunion might not last for long: Eureka’s life will soon come to an end, and the crew that Renton serves alongside on the GEKKO have their own ideas about what to do with the blue-haired girl. As mankind prepares to fire a doomsday weapon that will end the war once and for all, the fate of the world rests in the hearts of two young lovers.
