Counterparts - Live @ Loeden’s (House Show - Hamilton, Ontario)
Last night, I filmed Counterparts and a bunch of friends playing Loeden’s house and it was a great night. Shooting Counterparts for the last 4 years (this was probably the 5th or 6th time I’ve shot them) has never been boring as every time I shoot them, the crowd is giving 110% back to the band. This was no exception. Exactly 162 people crowded this tiny basement and fought the heat and went crazy for every song. One of the best shows I’ve been to and definitely one of the best ways to close out the summer.
The last couple of months I have been planning, shooting and now editing a documentary about Not Dead Yet. The history, the people, the bands. This is one of my first huge projects that I have taken on and I have slowly been piecing this bad boy together. Thanks to everyone that has helped me along the journey. I will also be making a cassette with audio recordings of some of the bands that played this year.
In addition, on Decemeber 29 and 30th, I will be at Faith/Void in Toronto recording interviews with anyone in the city that would like to stop by and talk about the festival and how much fun you had. You might get put in the doc. If you are interested, lemme know.
That’s all for now. This is, I think, the first update I am making on the documentary.
Most of you may have heard but for those you have not, I am making a documentary on this year’s Not Dead Yet festival. The documentary will be focusing on the importance of having a festival like Not Dead Yet to bring people together and unite.
I have started an Indiegogo campaign to help fund the project, as I have been pooling in my own resources and money in the meantime. Making movies are fun, but sometimes you need some help along the way.
There are some neat perks that are available for when you contribute such as cassettes and a chance to see the movie before it makes it’s online drop. I’m also working on getting some cool poster(s) made, but that will be announced some time soon, along with options to own physical copies.
The movie will still be made if the goal is not reached, and whatever is raised by the deadline will be used to help pay off costs.
Check out the Indiegogo page to learn more and watch the video. If you feel compelled to donate, please do. And if you see me around this coming weekend at NDY, say hi.
