one of the best estate sale scores we ever had was a vintage 60s ed roth rat fink halloween costume. believe it or not, the estate sale was in the living quarters above a funeral home. when we went to pay for the item, someone running the sale asked, “oh, you’re getting that old mouse costume?!”
THAT OLD MOUSE COSTUME.
another lady said, “that was my old costume! i was the rat fink!” it was neat to have the chance to meet its original owner. i always like to know the history of the old junk i collect.
we paid $10 for it. needless to say, if we were to sell it we could get much more than ten dollars for it, but it will stay in our permanent collection.
Andrew and I went to an estate sale where I scored an amazing chunk of moldavite and a pre-ban whale tooth. I wire-wrapped the moldavite and have it listed in the shop; as for the whale tooth - I’m pretty keen on keeping it!
